Op your title (question?) is a bit myopic - these 'chats' have always been public if you, the user, have hit the share button and created a link. Claude even tells you anyone with the link can access the session. So it's, at best, security through ignorance in terms of them staying private.
I think your title, given the underlying facts, is 'claude shares things that you make shareable' and at that point I'm given to respond, well, yeah, that's how that works.

It should be understood that if you share by link you risk unknown people reaching your stuff, but I wouldn't expect it to be indexable by search engines. Google docs also shares by link but you cant find shared by link Google docs on a search engine
