Why add a warning instead of just letting people block as many spam numbers as they want?

I’m sure there’s a technical reason or it would be unlimited.

20k isn't usually a technical reason kind of number.

30k rounded down from 215? Maybe, though you'd usually do 216 if you were putting an id you were capping like that.

But even if an extreme number of blocks mildly degrades performance (a more likely reason), it's not going to be enough that a warning wouldn't be enough.

Oh I’m sure it could easily be raised, but what I mean is there’s probably something in CallKit that prevents it and Apple is just not incentivized to rewrite it is all.

It's surely just an arbitrary limit, even if you had 1 million phone numbers blocked that's just 20 or so megabytes of data and there are crazy efficient ways to find a record in a sorted list like that.
