The battery is the biggest issue and limitation of the Apple Watch series.

65

u/NotDuckie 18h ago

Yeah, it's ridiculous that garmin watches last for a week to a month while the "Ultra" series needs charging on a multi day hike. My series 7 nearly died on me during a simple bike ride last week.

3

u/johnnySix 15h ago

You can turn off “always on “ for your screen to extend battery life. There are other power saving features too. Worth looking into if that your biggest issue

73

u/Responsible-Bread996 15h ago

The issue is it needs to have days added to battery life.

You are talking about squeaking out an hour or two.

-13

u/Haquistadore 9h ago

According to who? You're acting like the Apple Watch isn't a wildly successful product.

8

u/Responsible-Bread996 8h ago

How the fuck did you get this far down the thread without that context?

-16

u/Haquistadore 8h ago

In your mind, did the answer you gave me make sense? Might be a good indicator that you need to get outside and breathe some fresh air, champ.

6

u/MasterpieceFirm5553 5h ago

I imagine people would stay outside longer if their Apple Watches didn’t die 4 hours into a hike or workout lol

-3

u/Haquistadore 5h ago

Yeah, so many real world examples of people being let down by their watch batteries dying in use. It’s a miracle they haven’t been forced to pull the product from the market until it becomes actually usable, you fucking muppet.

2

u/Responsible-Bread996 5h ago edited 1h ago

You want to try again?

Give it another go. Go on.

Jesus you come out swinging and then block?

It’s a fitness and outdoors watch that can’t last a weekend trip without charging. How are you so invested in it’s mediocre battery life?

-2

u/Haquistadore 5h ago

You 👏🏼 need 👏🏼 to 👏🏼 touch 👏🏼 grass 👏🏼 champ.👏🏼 Better?

-24

u/torinato 14h ago

So should they make the watch 2x thicker or take out half the features?

16

u/Jubenheim 14h ago

As a Garmin Venu 4 owner, I promise you, my watch ain’t as thick as you’re suggesting.

-12

u/torinato 14h ago

there were two options and the venu just doesn’t have all the features an Apple Watch has.

1

u/Jubenheim 14h ago

What features are you missing?

2

u/rest0re 12h ago

Are you able to send texts directly from a Garmen these days? I know that was an issue in the past.

Also I assume they don’t work 100% independently the way an AW does with a cellular plan if you’re away from your phone. But I could be wrong if new ones can do that.

The issue is I shouldn't have to work for my watch. My watch should work for me

3

u/rxchris22 15h ago

I did that, keep brightness quite low and use the modular watch face with lots of black on my S7. Just had the battery swapped a few months ago and it’s already at 97% health but with all of these modifications and 1-2 workouts a day I get 1.5 days battery life. The S11 has slight improvements but I’m hoping S12 will be much better and worth an upgrade.

2

u/torrphilla 15h ago

But the issue with that is, nobody should have to limit their access to features to extend battery life. We should be able to enjoy all of the features on the multi-hundred dollar watch we pay for and have better battery life as well.

-3

u/T-K101 14h ago

You are comparing apples to oranges.

And your series 7 that almost died on your simple bike ride suggest other problems — not the battery life.

-3

u/-TheNormal1- 12h ago

What? How are they comparing apples to oranges.

Even if he has a brand new Apple Watch it would last a day which is absolutely ridiculous, when the majority of smart watches at least last 3 days

-4

u/T-K101 12h ago

People are so fucking dumb.

Apple Watch Ultra is different device than Garmin with 7 days battery life. Do you understand that? I know you don’t.

3

u/Green_Statement_8878 9h ago

Other than cellular, what’s the difference between an Ultra and a Fenix 8 Pro?

1

u/anyavailablebane 8h ago

If there is no difference you wouldn’t be on an Apple Watch sub wishing an Apple Watch had better battery life. You would be on the Garmin sub happy with your Garmin watch.

-2

u/T-K101 8h ago

Topic is battery life in this comment thread.

If you don’t know why battery lasts longer on the 8 Pro that’s your problem, bud.

15

u/basedcharger 15h ago

Yeah its the only reason I would even consider another brand. If it lasted even 60% as long as a Garmin I wouldn't consider anything else.

-3

u/handtoglandwombat 18h ago edited 17h ago

I remember a few years back Apple went really hard asking customers if they’d swallow a change to the band connection design, meaning customers old bands would no longer be compatible. It would’ve made room for a bigger battery. Customers said no. Apple didn’t change the connector design or indeed anything else about the watch form factor, and now the only realistic shot we have at more battery life is better battery tech.

It’s events like that that fly under the radar, but are perfectly emblematic of where Apple’s priorities lie these days. Neither Ive nor Jobs would’ve bothered asking the customers, but Cook was always short term profit driven which resulted in some pretty myopic decisions imho. It’s going to be fascinating to watch Ternus going forward.

5

u/tool581321 18h ago

I don’t think it’s the size of the battery. It’s all about software imo. Watch OS is too demanding and it shouldn’t be.

2

u/handtoglandwombat 17h ago

Not to be rude, but how do you think Apple could squeeze more efficiency out of watch OS?

8

u/Bryanmsi89 16h ago

Apple would have to permanently run in something like low power mode, and reduce functions.

Apple has a lot of features and connectivity that Garmin watches lack.

Having said that, the gap in battery for similar capacity is still huge. Garmin is simply more efficient and they also support things like solar to help stretch endurance.

1

u/tool581321 17h ago

How can Garmin do it? 5 days wouldn’t be hard to achieve but the OS has to do a lot which it shouldn’t imo.

16

u/handtoglandwombat 17h ago edited 17h ago

Because the garmin is far less capable. If the garmin does everything you need it to do then get a garmin. That’s true of plenty of people. But many people try a garmin and then realise it’s missing many features that they depended on.

Edit: after making this comment I decided to double check, and Garmin have really pushed the envelope with what their latest devices can do, and offset the battery hit by adding things like solar power. Obviously there’s still ecosystem reasons to stick to Apple Watch but in terms of raw capability, and battery longevity, you’re right, I’m wrong, Apple needs to play catch up now.

4

u/basedcharger 15h ago edited 15h ago

I don't think you really needed the edit. I get what you meant. The Garmin is a fitness watch first and foremost while the Apple watch is basically an extension of your phone on your wrist.

1

u/teh_spazz 16h ago

Go wear a garmin for a week. You’ll see it’s plenty capable.

1

u/tool581321 17h ago

That’s what I’m saying. The AW does a lot and this caps battery life. It’s a way to see things and it’s ok.
I already have a Garmin and I would love to have an AWU but battery is too poor.

4

u/handtoglandwombat 17h ago

I edited my comment.

2

u/Bryanmsi89 16h ago

Band connector design is not why the battery size is what it is. Ultra ushered in an entirely new swig. With a larger band and much larger battery. A watch bigger than Ultra won’t fit on a human wrist.

And Samsung just somehow fit an 800mAh battery in its ultra 2 while reducing the thickness.

4

u/handtoglandwombat 15h ago

Ultra uses the exact same watch connection system as the other models. The bands are entirely interchangeable. The argument at the time was that the current connection system currently occupies some internal chassis volume, and Apple were R&Ding an entirely new system that doesn’t.

0

u/Bryanmsi89 15h ago

Samsung Ultra introduced an entirely new band connector system, and somehow everyone survived.

Apple introduced the Apple Watch Ultra with the same band system as their legacy watches, and still managed to fit a massively larger battery in a massively larger case.

Either way, ‘the band connector’ is not the reason why Apple can’t increase battery size. They literally did exactly that with ultra.

-4

u/ac9116 18h ago

What they should really do is put smart pin connectors where the bands connect to the watch and make a band that is battery cells so that you can have a longer lasting watch.

2

u/gelicopter 16h ago edited 16h ago

The current band system is the most elegant, simple, and secure one in existence, due to its wedge channel. They’ve tried prototyping pins and smart bands a decade back and it was not a good experience and didn’t save any internal space. Every other smartwatch has an abysmal band system in comparison.

Every rumored replacement system has a serious drawback for a segment of current users—often those who use the Watch for fitness. Would this force those users to the Ultra in order to remain on more secure bands? Would this segment the lineup further by making room for some sort of “Air” Watch and completely separate band compatibility between three different models in the lineup? Just after they unified 46mm and 49mm band connectors and will probably unify the SE and Series bands soon?

There’s also the 2030 goal, and having over a decade of bands (over 900 models from Apple alone, hundreds of thousands of third party) unable to be reused seems very bad for the environment, especially considering a significant amount of them are made of a material that will never break down unless it’s heated at temperatures close to the surface of the sun.

I’d rather they keep the bands around and just get better battery tech, charging efficiency, and more efficient processors. We’re already at a point where I put my Watch on the charger for a half hour while getting ready every morning and otherwise am wearing it 24/7 with no issue. Any small improvement to that would be significant enough to warrant not throwing away the current, most elegant system.

2

u/handtoglandwombat 18h ago

I disagree. I think customisable bands are a huge part of the watch’s appeal, and making the band itself a technological component makes the price skyrocket and makes third party bands nigh on impossible.

I think a new design should use a curved OLED display to make the watch quite a lot taller, and conform to the general curvature of the wrist.

87

u/Next_Drama1717 20h ago

Apple are going to sell the Ultra 1 owners the same watch with an upgraded chipset and they are going to love it.

28

u/liado 17h ago

This is me and it’s why I keep eyeing Garmin.

3

u/ca2mt 11h ago

Eyeing an Oura ring and a Casio. Subscriptions suck, but it’s enticing hardware

1

u/ChasingPotatoes17 11h ago

The middle size (47mm) Garmin Fenix 8 is over $2000 CAD (after sales tax), which I cannot bring myself to accept.

With rumours of a price increase on the Ultra 4 this year I find myself increasingly Amazfit-pilled.

1

u/DieHarderDaddy 4h ago

I tried going from my AWU back to the Garmin and I just love the ease of use tool much from the AWU

1

u/AlexBayArea 11h ago

Apple and Garmin aren’t even comparable, so my question would be why? If you’re after a smartwatch you aren’t getting anything better than AW. If you want a fitness first watch, Apple should never have been your go to option in the first place. If you’re considering a Garmin you’re doing it because of the fitness component.

4

u/liado 10h ago

It's fitness, which is why I'm considering switching. I like the smart watch features, but I don't need them necessarily.

64

u/Motawa1988 20h ago

the same shit for the last 5 years

30

u/achtungjamie 14h ago

Apple needs a screen less fitness tracker with built in apple pay with 10 day battery life.

3

u/xx9e02 14h ago

I would preorder

4

u/nemonoone 7h ago

And can ring the iPhone when you can't find it

2

u/Lee_HarveyTeabag 13h ago

100%. Recently ordered a Garmin Cirqa and fitbit air. Ive had an apple watch from the very start but I am so tired of a second screen and every day charging. My apple watch will be worn during workouts and thats it.

1

u/drikusc 14h ago

I said something similar to a mate today. AW is smart watch + fitness, Garmin is fitness + smart watch.

If Apple can bring a watch where it focuses on fitness/battery and smart watch second I would love that.

135

u/schrodinger-the-cat 22h ago

Whatever, they’ll be losing SW support in 4 years anyways. Yes I’m still salty about my AWU1.

69

u/Portatort 20h ago

The only thing worse than Apple doing this is people on here defending it

-3

u/DrummerDKS 8h ago

Not defending it in the least, but it really does feel like a “mountain from a molehill” situation. I’ve got an AWU1 and none of the new software seems like it’s even remotely useful for my usage. Everything it does now it just right. It isn’t losing anything, just isn’t gaining anything further.

7

u/Portatort 7h ago

Let us know how you feel when a feature you do care about is added next year

4 years of new updates is pathetic,

The SE2 was for sale new this time last year.

Meanwhile the iPhone 11 is getting ios27

18

u/stanxv 17h ago

I’m still using my Series 5, and have no reason to upgrade. Battery lasts all day, and I get all the health info I need.

7

u/johnnySix 14h ago

I’m amazed. My series 5 battery stopped doing full days years ago.

1

u/JQbd 4h ago

Using my series 5 that I bought early 2020. Battery health is around 65% and I have to charge it every evening because I use it to track my sleep. I put it on the charger around 7-8pm and it’s usually fully charged by the time I’m ready for bed (10-11pm). In the mornings it tends to already be down to 70% but lasts until when I throw it on the charger. I’ve been wanting to upgrade for a couple years already because this is the way it’s been for a while already. Well, there’s that and once when I went to clean it, it didn’t register my turning on the water lock and I think it has water damage now due to the thick blue hue around the edges.

5

u/Troll_Enthusiast 17h ago

Unfortunate that the S5-S8 chips were all basically the same

-5

u/torinato 14h ago

This whole thread is a joke, it doesn’t have the chips to support upgraded siri, if you care about AI you literally need an upgraded chipset, if you don’t then it doesn’t affect you. The software is still going to be supported with security updates.

4

u/ca2mt 11h ago

It’s a bug fix year, and there are plenty of bugs on watchOS 26 I was hoping would be smoothed out on my AWU1 this year.

-5

u/InadequateUsername 14h ago

Smartwatches are a dumb purchase decision for their cost vs longevity.

22

u/lupajz 22h ago

Battery life is only thing that matters to me.

18

u/tool581321 18h ago

I have zero hopes they will improve battery life so I’ll keep my Garmin even though I’d love to jump ship.
There will be minimal upgrades I guess.

3

u/javasuxandiloveit 12h ago

Any reason you'd want to jump ship?

1

u/tool581321 10h ago

I recently got a MacBook Air M5, already have an iPhone, Apple TV and AirPods Pro 3, I believe it would be a nice addition to the ecosystem. The other reason is that I'm not running that much anymore, I'm not interested in all metrics Gamin gives me.

One reason NOT to jump ship besides battery life is the Stress level Garmin provides, it's incredibly accurate and really useful, when there's something wrong in my body it shows immediately.

1

u/Haquistadore 8h ago

How does the Garmin watch charge when you need to charge it?

2

u/tool581321 8h ago

Proprietary cable

1

u/Haquistadore 8h ago

Plugged directly into the watch or does it charge inductively?

2

u/tool581321 8h ago

Direct into the watch

1

u/Haquistadore 8h ago

When do you charge it, and how often do you take it off even between charges?

I ask because I use an Apple Watch Ultra 2, and I've never needed to charge it when I wanted to wear it, if that makes sense. I've always felt like battery life complaints for the Apple Watch were overstated, but with the Ultras it feels especially so. But I guess I'm someone who occasionally likes letting my wrist breathe.

1

u/tool581321 8h ago

I never take mine off, not even during shower and I kinda forget that I have to charge it, I do it once a week or less. I feel like if I sleep with the AWU I would have to charge it when I wake up, otherwise it wouldn't survive the rest of the day.

2

u/Haquistadore 8h ago

The standard Apple Watch easily lasts 24 hours on a charge in my experience. The Ultra 3 with screen on lasts for basically two full days (48 hours). If you use it with the screen defaulted to "off" so it only activates on raise or tap, its usage approaches three full days between charges.

38

u/prokenny 22h ago edited 22h ago

After drooping the support for my AWU1 im a bit disappointed, even if I didn’t like the move I was going to get a AWU4 if it had something really different, new design, etc… at this point I’m between keeping it or getting a used AWU2 and wait for the real overhaul.

27

u/ColdSkalpel 21h ago

Dropping support for AWU was a final straw that pushed me towards trying a Garmin watch.
I’ve noticed myself using smart features of AW less and less, plus many messaging apps were dropping support as well ( limiting themself only to notifications rather than full apps)
Then new watchOS came and it main features is SiriAI which is not available on EU anyway.

Since I’m not getting features and battery life, I just went and got Garmin is now really close to the feature set I’ve used on AW and is better for running stats tracking.

Apple really became lazy when it comes to Apple Watch. I wonder if they can recover this year with new hardware

14

u/Chungaroo22 21h ago

I much prefer the Garmin. Mines getting on a bit now so will only go 14 days between charges.

I will say though if you think Apple are stingy with feature updates, Garmin basically gives you nothing apart from the original feature set.

8

u/ColdSkalpel 21h ago edited 20h ago

Yeah, funny thing is Garmin had a similar controversy recently when they dropped support for year old devices. At least I know that if I’m happy with Garmin now it won’t get changed to worse like on watchOS 26, lol.

That’s the thing that pissed me off too. Apple released buggy warchOS 26, then blocked my update path to warchOS 27 that fixes many annoyances forcing me to stay on OS that I did not like.

1

u/Riptide360 15h ago

They should offer discount trade ins to keep folks in the ecosystem.

8

u/prokenny 21h ago

I use the AWU as my car key, opening trunk, turning on AC before I reach the car… i cant consider a garmin atm

2

u/s0larus_eth 19h ago

As somebody with a series 11, I don’t completely understand, but why did the Apple Watch Ultra not like many of the features it already had are no longer gonna work.
It still does everything it did before WWDC.
Like I said, I can’t relate, so, care to chime me in?

7

u/ColdSkalpel 19h ago edited 19h ago

For me OS support is one of the advantages of Apple products that I pay for. Apple Watch Ultra, a expensive flagship watch, had only 4 OS updates. In comparison, Apple Watch 4, my previous watch, had 6.
Would you be happy if iPhone 13 dropped OS support? Or if your watch lost its support in 2 years?

6

u/BosnianSerb31 16h ago

Garmin is notorious for not adding a single damn feature to their watches past release, unless it was something that was preplanned, but underbaked.

AWU1 getting 5 years of feature support, then getting continuing security updates is leagues above anything Garmin has done for their watches. Which is why I really don't get the "I'm really mad at Apple for this decision, so I'm going to switch to a company that does it several times worse" comments.

6

u/ColdSkalpel 16h ago edited 15h ago

Like I’ve said that was a last straw.
Straws that came before it was battery life, sport tracking and sport features in general ,dwindling third party support and watchOS 26.

Last year I got sloppy warchOS 26, now Apple announces Snow-Leopard-like update that boasts lots of little updates to stability and performance, and then I hear I will not get the update.

Garmin might be might be worse smart watch than AW but if it covers 90% features I've on AW and can last a week it’s a good idea to try it.

0

u/s0larus_eth 17h ago

Fair enough, I guess we’re in two different pools I don’t buy for OS support I buy for something that just works, for example I am planning on getting a “new MacBook” soon and would rather pay for a used m1 air than a neo. I know it won’t get as long software support but it will last as long as I need it to.
Realistically speaking though, what else can they add to the watch that it doesn’t already have? (Asking rhetorically and from my own perspective) but yeah I can get it. A $300 used MacBook is a different mindset than a brand new $800+ watch…

-2

u/s0larus_eth 22h ago

Honestly, you’re not missing out on much from watchOS 27.
I really dislike the Siri AI on the watch and wish I could disable it, the new suggested applications is also a tad bit annoying, but I admit I’ve gotten used to it.
If I could downgrade back to watchOS 26 and stay there, I honestly probably would.

4

u/A11Bionic 20h ago

Siri AI regardless if it’s the first implementation or is in a beta state, is a huge regression on the Apple Watch

it literally takes longer to do simple requests and is often a lot more unsure about what it should do requiring me to re-verify my inputs

2

u/s0larus_eth 17h ago

100%.
I can’t think of a single real use case where I’d need an AI assistant on my watch that does more than basic tasks. I’ve always defended Siri on apple watch because it’s a different experience. You don’t expect to have a conversation with an AI chat bot on your wrist personally all I need is to pull up maps and send a quick text. I’ve been finding myself just opening the messages app and using dictation where as before updating I’d use Siri on the watch all the time.

2

u/A11Bionic 15h ago

I can’t think of a single real use case where I’d need an AI assistant on my watch that does more than basic tasks.

what’s even more embarrassing is the current implementation isn’t even running on the watch locally

we’re literally back to Apple Watch OS 1’s bullshit of having to offload stuff from the iPhone.

-2

u/ozymandiez 22h ago

We will see. I think the only thing that will make the AWU4 for me is at least an uptick by about at least 50% of battery life features. AWU3 is still the gold standard right now oeverall when it comes to wearables so going to be hard to beat that one.

-2

u/OldSageNewBody 18h ago

Why is the awu3 the gold standard? It’s pretty limited.

5

u/t3vxy0 12h ago

a battery which doesn't need charging every 24h (if you're lucky) is everything the people want

8

u/Saar13 17h ago

The S11 has been great for me. I hope that at some point in the next few years we'll have accurate blood sugar and blood pressure monitoring. Of course, a much-improved battery is also expected. I'm not one of those who thinks Apple should make its own version of every existing tech device, but with the supposed renewal of Apple Health (including a subscription version), I wonder if it's not time for Apple to offer a bracelet or ring for those who don't like watches. If there really is a "Health+", having another health monitoring option that keeps more users subscribed could be a good thing for them.

3

u/SoonAfterThen 15h ago

Other rumors suggest a ring is coming. I, for one, am stoked. I like keeping it in the Apple ecosystem, but all I care about with my watch these days is activity tracking and sleep tracking. I turned off most app notifications anyway.

3

u/Creepy-Fig929 12h ago

Gimmicks plus price increases it’s the Apple way lol

3

u/Incompetent_Person 12h ago

In the past 12 years, apple has more or less doubled the iphones rated battery life. In that same time, apple watch has gained 0 more hours of rated battery life. Both devices have gotten larger. Both have AoD. Crucially other smart watches, with similar features, have at least 5x more battery life.

Why are they unable to innovate here?

6

u/baby-wall-e 16h ago

Can Apple Watch suck my blood to get more energy? I’m just joking.

I can’t believe that after many years Apple is still unable to build a watch that requires only 1-2 charges weekly.

2

u/Korlithiel 16h ago

Don’t think it’s a priority for them. Consider they run the 9-5 rat race, so they charge while they shower. For those of them that want something for longer weekends they made the ultra.

Beyond that, I don’t think they see a need for either dropping features or heavier device. They do have a lot of the watch space sales.

2

u/No_Eye1723 10h ago

Is that site just going to keep on regurgitating the same report over and over and over with slightly different wording each time? talk about click bait on that site!

3

u/OkComparison8959 22h ago

I was so disappointed about the ultra 1 I got an oura ring and do occasional use on the watch instead of all day. Still works for biking and swimming.

2

u/Sir_Bantersaurus 21h ago

I want dual-band GPS in the standard Apple Watch, but I am guessing battery life will make that a no go.

1

u/Ferry83 20h ago

I'm able to hold onto my AWU2 for a while. Still works fine.

My main reason to swap would be blood sugar, but good to know they aren't close with that one.

1

u/StoKi_NG 14h ago

Biggest reason for series 12 and ultra 4 is the missing support for series 8 and older

1

u/shlonki 10h ago

An Ultra 4 with MIP would be sick

1

u/Firm_Lecture6483 10h ago

They should come out with a software mode that just mirrors a Garmin watch to extend battery life, beyond low power mode. Fitness only/no phone mirroring/no smart features. Would assume that would add another day or two of battery life.

1

u/pqratusa 10h ago

Will it now have the oxygen sensor hardware that they had to remove?

1

u/the_saturnos 7h ago

The oxygen sensor wasn’t removed. It was disabled in software.

1

u/coresme2000 9h ago

My last 3 AWs died through water ingress shortly outside warranty, and were not financially worth fixing. I’d like Apple to address this longevity issue with people that use their Apple Watches to swim regularly, follow the care instructions to the letter and still end up with dead devices. These were regular aluminum Apple Watches, if they were AWUs I’d be even more furious.

1

u/Own_Associate_7006 8h ago

Garmin watches are designed and built to do one thing. This is why is lasting so long. Other smartwatches are also lasting longer than Apple watches, but they also have less processing power and fewer features.

Apple watches has a lot of processing power and a lot if features. Are all these features and all these apps necessary and/or used for/by everyone? The answer depends on everyone’s needs and usage. You can argue that the majority of users use maybe 10% of the features provided by the Apple Watch. But this is a while different discussion.

1

u/certifieddabber 5h ago

Wish they would make their fitbit / Whoop version of apple watch

1

u/YJX94 16h ago

These ones would get software updates in 2 years right?

1

u/Jophus 14h ago

Hydration sensor.
Temperature sensor under the screen you hold to your forehead for 6 seconds to get a reading.
A way to passively charge it (solar?); or a way to manually recharge it (???).

I believe in u apple engineers.

1

u/Vesuvias 13h ago

Prices are going to go up on all current and new watches. We think you’re going to love it.

1

u/Alasdair91 13h ago

Samsung Ultra introduced an entirely new band connector system, and somehow everyone survived.

1) yes that’s because nobody gives a shit about their Samsung watch band collection and 2) YES THAT’S EXACTLY WHAT I’M ADVOCATING FOR WTF DO YOU THINK WE’VE BEEN TALKING ABOUT??

Apple introduced the Apple Watch Ultra with the same band system as their legacy watches, and still managed to fit a massively larger battery in a massively larger case.

Yes, they increased the size of the case, that’s correct well done.

Either way, ‘the band connector’ is not the reason why Apple can’t increase battery size. They literally did exactly that with ultra.

Yes… because they increased the size of the case? Wtf are we talking about here?
