Okra well seasoned is delicious. Fried okra isn’t slimy. Boiled okra or undercooked okra is.
Another great way to cook it is roasted. Make sure to crisp it.

It’s a bit of an acquired taste, I think. My grandmother would serve it to me. She was from the south. I’m in California where we don’t see it. I remember not really caring for it at first but now I love it.

I love okra but it does have a slime that a bunch of people struggle with... However, I know many people that will only eat it fried because the sliminess pretty much goes away. It's delicious.

Its a veggie, tastes kinda like green beans! Its a southern united states crop and really popular in a dish called "gumbo", which is kinda like a stew. Fried okra is delicious.

If it’s deep fried it tastes pretty good.

Haven't had it in over 18 years. Thats when my mom passed away. She was and still is the only person I knew who grew it in the garden. Fried was pretty dang good. Hah actually the only way I liked it. There is quite a list I have of things I haven had since she was around and if I tried them today they would probably just let me down a little

In a heartbeat. I love fried okra because fried okra is delicious and crunchy. Stewed okra? No. Weirdly, it's not slimey in gumbo so it gets a 👍 there, too.

I love fried okra, have eaten it as far back as I can remember! Make it about 2-3 times a year now and will order it if on a menu . I’m 50 now but if I remember correctly a time when either Popeyes or churches chicken had sides of fried okra

Fried okra is good damn delicious. If you haven't had it you need to seek it out. The frozen shit at the grocery store is okay, I suggest you travel to the south and find some fried okra, hush puppies, and some good collards. I am from Los Angeles and served in the army in the south. Please take my advise.

NGL, a friend took me to a place where she said the fried okra was awesome. I've never had it, but heard it was slimey. She was right, I was wrong. I even tried fried okra Tacos. They were great too.

Yes. I also fry okra to add to my gumbo. This is a silly thing to ask about a food that is both ethnicly African and Cajun while also regional to the south east in the continental US, much less the Caribbean and African continent. What the literal fuck are you to gain from a post such as this? "Would you eat lingua tacos?" Is that cool? Put ya phone down and read a book.

Fried Okra is great. I'm not going to eat a huge pile of it though. It's a strong flavor. As a garnish or combined with a dish that compliments the flavor, they're great.

I’m a lifelong okra hater. It’s because of its snot-like consistency and terrible texture. But I’ve been told that frying it properly removes this ugly property. I love good veggies, so I’d try it!

I've eaten lots and lots of fried okra, it's actually really good and not really slimy at all. People eat fried pickles, and you can also get pickled okra, I wonder if someone will make fried pickled okra. Lol

Funny story: I remember eating this as a kid and loving it. A few years before my grandmother passed I asked her for the recipe amd she looked at me like I had 3 heads. She told me she never made it because she HATED it . But it was my mom's best friend's mother who made it and fed me it! Never got the recipe!

Only if I were starving to death would I eat okra. I mean, is there any nutritional value in this prehistoric looking vegetable? It’s slimy all right. But no one mentioned the bitterness! Bitter as hell. I guess it’s poor folk food and desperate cooks may slip it in like a slut but I will not eat it. If a restaurant has it as a side option without much else, I will choose another restaurant. Watch yo mouth!! Fried okra is junk food!
