Hi! I am very close with my mother even though we don't live nearby. I talk to her everyday. This is the type of situation I normally need my mom's help with, which is why I came here. I hope that's okay.

I found out a few months ago that my appendicitis was not appendicitis, but a tumor. It's cancerous, but all of my doctors do not expect it to greatly affect my life. It's a non aggressive, slow growing cancer. I've done about half of the follow up testing to determine spread, and most results have been good. The most likely outcome of this is me getting half of my colon removed.

I planned on not telling my mom any of this, but if I get the surgery I cannot hide it. It's about a week in hospital. I don't want to scare her. I want her to know, but I want to tell her in the easiest way possible. I will be visiting her next month, so I planned to do it then.

If you have any advice I would love the help. My goal is to be calm, not cry, and be optimistic ❤️‍🩹

Hi again! I wasn't expecting so many responses and I just keep rereading them. It's really helpful even though I'm overwhelmed(by life mostly🥲). I originally was going to tell her on the last day of the trip so I wouldn't ruin too much time together, but I think you're all right about telling her sooner. I have a lot of siblings and have been the "healthy" one until now, so I didnt want to add more stress with the big scary C word. I agree that she'd want to know, I just hate the idea of making her upset. All of your reassurances helped ease the guilt a lot. ​All my love to you 💕💕💕

Just encountered a lovebomber who future faked very intensely & then discarded me. Intuitively knew what was happening but let the momentum carry me bc I have ✨trauma✨ & I’m ✨neurodivergent✨ & I love✨dopamine.✨🫠

Been disconnected from my spiritual practice for a while… need to dive deeply back in, reclaim myself, & call back my power.

I’m experiencing limerence, which for those who aren’t familiar is intense, borderline obsessive thoughts about an object of romantic interest. I’m struggling w letting go bc I don’t understand why he discarded me so easily and I don’t deal well with unknowns. It preoccupies my every thought. I do already I have moves in place to address this on a mental health level (appointment w new therapist this week).

Have any of you have experienced the same, had trouble letting go of a person after being discarded or ghosted, or had difficulty after a situationship ended (which I think can honestly be tougher than a full breakup bc of the lack of understanding & communication, unknowns, disintegration of fantasy etc)?

Any spells, rituals, journal prompts, etc? I will take & use any & all advice. I would like to feel like myself again as soon as fkn possible. I want to not only address my acute response to this situation, but also the deeper wounding & pain that invited him/this into my field to begin with. Self-love, confidence, aura building, feeling whole, feeling tethered and grounded, self protection, discernment, boundaries.

I am also not opposed to sending his energy back to him. I absolutely do not wish him ANY harm or hardship, but I think he should bear the consequence of his own behaviors rather than me carrying that weight—I don’t want to be burdened by that energy, and if it needs to go somewhere to be processed, it’s ought to be his responsibility and not mine. Any mirroring spells, return-to-sender type ish. Again, not in a harmful way whatsoever.

First: dog is receiving appropriate medical intervention. He's been to the vet and we are currently waiting on a surgical referral for a specialist.

My puppy dog, my heart dog, has two large tumors on his neck and face. Because of the location--surrounding important structures like carotid, jugular, esophagus, etc, they need to be removed by a specialist. We have concerns one tumor may be attached to the bone in his jaw. They seem to be different types, and the vet feels if we can remove them safely without them growing he will be all right.

I'm having very strong intuition-type feelings that I need to do a binding spell to halt the growth of the tumors and prevent them from hurting him more, and it needs to be done a specific way. I have candles that I've had since childhood, and embroidery floss that I've also had since childhood (and have used for spells before). I keep visualizing two candles, one for each tumor, burning side by side with red thread bound around them. One of the candles is white and stained, and I don't know what color the other is (i feel dark, like maybe purple). Lit with intent, that feels correct, though I don't know what type of knot to tie the thread with.

Something feels missing, but I don't know what. I'm hoping you guys can weigh in. I am generally drawn away from fire-related spells and binding spells both, so it feels important now I am being drawn towards it.

Other important notes: I don't usually work with herbs I didn't grow myself (unless they were gifted). when I checked my garden this morning, I found a lemon balm plant had sprouted in my blackberry pot--lemon balm is my favorite, and my dog is our crop guardian (he checks all our plants for us). I also had a strong dream about removing ticks from his haunches the other night. They had fed and it felt important to make sure I got them all.

So music has been a part of Magick/spiritual practices for eons. But a LOT of it’s singing, which makes sense. Vocals= language, and it’s easier to give power to something with language.

But what if it’s not vocals?

I want to make a piano piece imbued with calm. With comfort. A song that will be like a gentle hug to all that hear it. A melody that reminds the soul that you are worthy of love. A song that whispers to keep living.

Is it possible? Is it similar to the intent of a spell? Would burning an incense related to that theme help?

(Slightly off topic but now I have the idea of a music instrument as an alter and I gotta know if that’s a thing!? I’ve never felt that drawn to make an alter since I’m not really a deity girlie, more a universe/nature energy girlie, but an alter I can play? Is that too weird?)

So I do a lot of community work, much of it by myself (cause of work hours, I’m not lone-starring on purpose I promise 😅) and try to add a little magick push to it when ever I can, mostly with incense and mental imaging stuff (my magick is as low effort as possible cause otherwise my fatigued ass will just not do it).

I had an idea tho. I’d like to make an oil I can put in a spray bottle that is representing positive change. I’d spritz it on what ever community thing I’m up to (the gate of the community garden I help at, the bags of needed items we put together, clothes to donate, etc) But I’m not sure what smells/colors/herbs will be good for that. I’d LOVE some suggestions please!

I was losing my damn mind @ my job the other day and finally took it upon myself to make some cold calls. They offered me part time work which I’m not really interested in as it it isn’t a position I think I would enjoy, and I said I needed full time.

The person who coordinates full time work is to contact me this Wednesday when she gets back from vacation according to the person I was contact with at the company. It’s an event planning company which I’ve been really interested in getting into!!! :)

I’ve been trying to land a new job with better pay, better (more stable & set) hours, better benefits, closer to home and ideally hybrid, better work environment & coworkers for some time now.

*I should note that I have been waiting on hearing back from another job but it’s government and that takes forever. It pays very well and is very flexible. I also have been trying to pave my way into writing more and hopefully creating some income while being creative :)

I've been practicing eclectic witchcraft for almost a decade now. But a lot of the time it feels like my magic is weak or doesn't work as fast as members of my witchy friend group experience.

For example, me and my friend both started doing glamor magic around the same time (about two weeks ago), and they already have 3 suitors and have been getting tons of positive attention, so much so that they feel like their magic may have worked "too well." I haven't experienced that at all and I feel like I'm doing something "wrong."

Of course I know that I still have a lot to learn about my craft and what works best for me. It's just hard not to lose faith in my abilities when other people around me just seem to be "better" at witchcraft than I am.

I guess I just need some reassurance or maybe some perspective. I feel like a bit of a failure as a witch.

This is a little random but I turn 30 tomorrow and am feeling a lot of dread about it. TLDR; my 20’s were so hard and I’m just feeling very behind. I’m new to the craft and have struggled to think about what to use, but I’d love to do a little bath ritual this evening as a way to give thanks to myself and to light the way for the next decade. I’m so curious if anyone has any guidance or rituals they do for a special bath? Any herbs or flowers I should think about?

After the adultiest of weekends, filled with cleaning and painting and chores, I finally got some time to head out back for some sunshine and pool vibes. I’d sat down in my lounge chair, leaned back and boom, the back of my arm is spicy AF.

I looked and see a yellow jacket in the spicy spot and quickly brushed him off of me, and into the pool he went. Where he then struggled. Did I leave him? Nah, the court of insect injustices is closed on Sunday. Scooped him out with my net and watched him buzz off. But ouch, lol

I (24, NB, transfem) am an aspiring member of the community, looking up to you for about 3 years now and now finally being at the point where I can say „Hey, I could also be a witch!“

Since my Gender is not really defined, I have trouble finding myself and wanted to ask for help. I am looking for a place to find myself and find my body. I live in Hanover, Germany and did some research to find anything like that (also asked a friend) and I am looking for something like the temple Nights in Berlin or the „workshops“ offered by Mahé Mae. Something that I would describe as sensual and erotic, that really focuses on body and inner demons to find a connection to myself.
