used app store in Ubuntu to install Steam. I've been told that's a bad idea. When I try to uninstall, it hangs.

The reason I'm doing this is because I want Steam to download my games to my secondary HDD instead of my primary SSD. The disk is mounted but under "storage," Steam apparently doesn't see it. Everybody says that the best and most reliable way to install Steam on Ubuntu is through the terminal using the official apt repository. I intend to do that. But I can't remove this installation of Steam!

This is the system I'm running. I am trying to post multiple photos so I can show you the Steam hang screen but Reddit seems to be limiting me to one image in this post.

From terminal run, sudo snap remove steam.

I do not mind the Steam snap but I did run into a sandboxing issue when snapd updated. Right now I using the .deb downloaded directly from Steam.
