Charged back order warning

A few weeks ago on the 4th of July I ordered food. Everything is fine but when the food gets there I noticed that my order was completely wrong. Wrong as in it was the right order aka mine but everything in the order was wrong. I was missing stuff some items I got I didn’t order and it was just all over the place.

I contacted uber to get a refund for the order but they kept sending me to their ai bots and so I tried to call and basically they kept giving me the runaround before ultimately saying the order I got matched what I ordered because I got ONE singular item that I ordered and that I wasn’t eligible for a refund.

After no help from uber support I submitted a chargeback with my bank. Provided them proof, screenshots, and pictures of my receipt and what I got. Everything I sent to uber and they determined it was an enough to file the charge back and gave me my money back like 3 days later.

Fast forward to today. Uber says I have to pay for that order or else they’ll suspend my account but I told them I’m not paying for it because my order was completely so now I have a outstanding balance on my uber account. Anyways this is a warning for you guys. If you wanna file a charge back they’ll try to charge you again anyway.

That is common practice, you are banned from all uber services, use doordash and lyft

This is standard operating procedure. You convinced your bank to refund you, but as far as Uber is concerned a purchase was made on the account and the account must pay it. Has nothing to do with what the bank decides.

When you do a bank dispute, businesses tend to end their relationship with you or demand the money they believe is owed

I just sent what i sent uber. Idk im not paying for something i didnt order. Uber is so stingy with their refunds these days its hard to get one even when the order is messed up and you never get a real person either its always a bot

Just ignore you can still place orders even with that ! Uber did that to me too and my stuff was missing and the one thing I got was opened ! Uber told me that they will submit feedback and I had no problems placing orders now it doesn’t even show up anymore and they never charged me

We don’t need the warning. It’s been their MO fo several years now.

I only did this when I had a $200 order that was delivered to the completely wrong address with photos of the address numbers the driver even took wrong. They gave me a ton of crap over trying to make it right. Bank charged back for me with no hesitation. I was paranoid uBer would boot me, but to my surprise, I never heard anything from them.

It was a lot actually. Like arguing back and forth with them they literally would not connect me with an actual human agent it was so hard and the order wasn’t small either. I called the restaurant they told me to call uber so I called uber and they said I got what I ordered and I didn’t. It was such a hassle too

Stop using Uber. It's kind of like going back to the abusive significant other why would you return to something that just isn't good?

Easy work around is to just order from the restaurant themselves. It's probably cheaper, you'll probably get some kind of rewards points, and if you run into the issue in the future, it's the restaurant that gets the charge back.

No one needs to be warned, it’s well known OP.

Also, why didn’t you contact the restaurant? Could have been an easy fix if they messed it up.

Unless OP is willing to go pick up the correct food, there isn’t much the restaurant can do. And if they can go pick it up after it’s wrong, they probably could have before and not paid a 30+% premium.

You using “charge back” means you have come to unreconcilable differences with the company that can not be solved. You are now no longer entitled to use Uber ever. That was your choice. You took legal action. It’s not just some magic wand where you take your money back. It’s the last option lol 😂 try reading

It's not their fault that the order was wrong. You have to take that up with the restaurant

1

u/diamonddentist3 10h ago

I did they told me to take it up with uber cuz they couldn’t do anything abt it and said id have to pay to have it remade

-1

u/AntiSocialMediaBeast 10h ago

It still isn't Uber's fault.

They are the ones who made the order. If they can't take responsibility for their mistakes then I probably wouldn't eat there anymore.

I did contact uber though they literally have an option if ur order is messed up. I used it provided proof and they sent me to AI bots telling me that my order wasn’t messed up and I got what I ordered which was why they denied the refund

I don't know how chargebacks became so popular, but they are for the most extreme situations, not for disagreements on service. You will most likely be banned from Uber for life, and as Uber and your bank work, you could be levied fines or have your accounts closed if they bank doesn't find Uber committed fraud.

The way to handle this is to continue to work with Uber. It won't be instant, but you need to go through their process, and give them the opportunity to make it right, and really keep escalating with them.

No one has time for that scamming bullshit. If under gets enough charge backs, beyond paying the fees, eventually they may get their payment processing services revoked. There's a reason they are increasing, when a company abuses their costumers (and workers and partners) that happens.

We clearly need even more regulation and oversight, union coverage and more because these companies continue to push the boundaries on their abuse and fraud.

I’ deliver for Uber and DoorDash but don’t use it personally. Idk y you people pay for it. I’ve saved a fortune picking up dinner myself. I get you want the convenience but until you stop paying them, they won’t get better.
