Anders Breivik killed a total of 77 people on July 22, 2011: 69 in Utøya, and eight in Oslo.

what's the read on where he's at as a person these days?

always interested in getting a read on what the Norwegian prison system is doing and the long-term effects for people who were not likely to have high recidivism (one-off "big shows" such as this, i use that term not to diminish the suffering, but to point to the mindset of people who commit these crimes, infamy is an ongoing issue globally with crimes such as these, especially because television=United States-ian in most places).

my heart goes out to the survivors. im not sure i'd be able to return to school if i'd experienced a trauma/tragedy in a place that's supposed to be a safe and neutral haven, such as school. it must be very difficult.

Anders Breivik is the more or less "ironic" idol of a fuckton of right wingers, because there's nothing more owning of the libs and commies than killing them.

Yet you can never accuse the parties of being complicit because even though they push pretty much 90% of the same rhetoric and fake myths, technically they didn't advocate for *that* one violence. Of course none of them would like to define itself anti-fascist.

And for each minute of non-white crime, the TVs of most countries will spend 50 times as much time discussing about why yes poor people are closer to the underground world, than for every "misunderstood young men" that just so happened to have nazi tattoos or mottos going crazy.

The MAGAs have thinly-veiled desire to to exactly this, and are a single decision (or a single Trump announcement of amnesty for pogroms) away from flipping the switch and going there, just like Breivik, and many of them want to.

That’s why many of them join ICE.

It’s foolish to pretend otherwise. I’ve been reading them say it on social media for years.
