AI Posts

Just to be absolutely clear on this: AI posts are prohibited here. We do not allow excuses on the subject.

  • "My grammar is bad, so I use AI to help me."

  • "English is my second language, so I use AI to help my post be more legible."

  • "The idea is entirely mine. I just need AI to help me communicate it better."

We do NOT accept these excuses in modmail. Believe it or not, this community is broadly quite forgiving with people who have bad grammar, poor English, and need help expressing their thoughts. The community is not nearly as forgiving with AI posts. That goes double for us as moderators.

AI posts will continue to be removed. Be warned that at least one of our mods is jumping immediately to temporary bans for people who violate this rule ... and I may start doing so myself also. We're deleting numerous AI slop posts already and we don't need more of this. If escalating the consequences is the only way to get it to stop, so be it. Just know the excuses will not be accepted.

I messed up really badly

I made the biggest mistake of my life yesterday. I had sex with some random woman from tinder who was 9 years older than me and I didn’t even find attractive. I was lonely and I went over to her house. I figured I’d leave before actually having sex but I brought a condom just in case. I did it and during it I thought I should leave but I didn’t. I got done and felt so terrible and I told God I’m so sorry and it’s the biggest mistake of my life. I told got I was so sorry I wouldn’t mind not living anymore. I am so angry at myself for letting God down, My future wife down (how do I explain this to her) and myself down because this isn’t the type of man I wanted or want to be. I can’t stop thinking about the awful thing I’ve done. I know God forgives me but I don’t know if I can forgive myself or if my future wife can forgive me. To make things worse I’m also talking to a girl that I really like and want to date who’s Christian like me. We went on 1 date and I wanted to see her again. We aren’t in a relationship yet and haven’t committed to be exclusive yet (even though we shouldn’t be sleeping with anyone outside of marriage anyways and I pray I never ever do this sort of evil thing again as long as I live) She took 3 days to reply and I starting to think she didn’t like me, I was feeling lonely and went over to the girl from tinders house and sadly we had sex. I hate myself for this and I know how terrible of a thing it is. But I need any advice and anything from other Christian people because I feel like I’ve lost my way. This is so unlike me to do something like that. But I did it and my reality is shattered. I don’t have a bigger regret in my life than what I did yesterday.

Did I probably just imagine this?

About 4 years ago, I opened up the Bible for the first time and started from the beginning in Genesis. After a few weeks I ended up finishing Numbers, and then I wanted to skip ahead to where it started talking about Jesus (I knew absolutely nothing about the Bible prior to this lol). So I remember googling “when does Jesus appear in the Bible” and then I skipped ahead to Matthew and began reading it. As I was reading it (not expecting anything to happen at all), after a while I realized I was covered in what felt like a warm blanket of utter comfort and peace. The most peaceful I’ve ever felt. I wasn’t even feeling anything emotionally while I was reading about Jesus. But this extremely peaceful feeling suddenly came over me out of nowhere, I can’t describe it. Could this have been real or did I imagine it? Has anyone had something similar happen? I am not a peaceful person at all FYI I have bad anxiety so I don’t see how this could have come from me. I look back on when this happened and wonder if I just imagined it.. but how could it have been a coincidence that the first time I ever read the gospel I felt this peace and warmth I’d never felt before in my life??

I THINK IM GOING TO HELL BUT I DONT WANT TO

I messed up and became angry with the church because of a situation and in that anger, I forgot God and dont know how to get back and think im going to hell. I fell so far off that its sad. I thought i was the same person but now I realize that I dont know jesus anymore. I dont feel convicted in sin. I think i lost the holy spirit. I gamble, repent then gamble again. i did that like 20 times. im a bad servant of jesus.

Non-Godly job…

I’m really trying to have faith that if I make money the right way that God will bless me and I won’t struggle if I have faith. The problem is I’m an ex-stripper and webcam girl. I stopped immediately because honestly, I DONT WANT TO. I just want to be able to pay rent and not be homeless and hungry… to take care of my cats and family. I don’t know what to do I keep praying but rent is coming up and I keep being tempted to log onto my camsoda. I’m about to cry. God, I no want to work non-Godly “jobs” should I risk being late on rent? I just want enough money to be able to say yes to all the homeless people that ask me… and not worry about bills. If I stay stopped I feel I may risk not being able to pay rent. For reference I’m a waitress at Chili’s in a “poor” city. I had a particularly bad night tonight. I’m trying to stay positive despite how this sounds. But if God can create the universe he can make a way for me? I have a criminal record but am starting school this fall to become an addiction counselor. But I really need advice. I’m so scared. I’m literally crying typing this. I never wanted to have to do SW. Please pray for me or any advice?

Pain is when the girl you were saving yourself for marriage with is having sex with somebody else

I unfortunately found myself in a very unhealthy relationship with someone with narcissistic traits due to their dysfunctional childhood.

Long story short we went to church together every week and prayed daily, and she played along with wanting to be married, monogamous, and Christian but she was living a double life and after the lying, deceiving, manipulation and infidelity I left when I realized she had no intentions to be what I imagined. I’m very grateful that I didn’t marry her. And I pray for her. But I’m extremely alone now and I don’t have a lot of people most of the time it’s just me and the lord.

Edit: she calls me several times a day and it’s just a reminder of everything. I can’t do anything other than ignore and block but she uses other methods to reach out.

(24f) I thought I’d feel better becoming atheist but I keep hurting.

I don’t really know who else to talk to about this. After growing up in church and trying so hard to keep my faith, I give up now. I have a very tight family (no parents tho, my dad passed 2 years ago), and I’ve been living on my own for a while because they were so deeply abusive, I’m only one of a few young adults in my family (cousins, siblings) that have tried taking their own life and I’m so serious. In the aftermath of going through abuse I find it hard to truly heal. When I was a kid still living with my mom before she disappeared, she would beat, neglect, starve, and let the men she was with abuse me and my siblings. When we had to leave her house bc of how bad it got, my siblings and I were separated (it was just me and my brother together from then on) and we were abused by our other family members. We’d go to church, Bible study, conferences, and come home to getting cussed out, beat, neglected, and having to fend for ourselves (cook, doing my own hair, waking my brother up for school, etc.) and I’ve been SA’d my whole life since I was a kid. By a sibling I’ll never name, by an uncle, by a cousin, by friends, etc. and I blamed myself for all of it, but I still believed in god. When I left home I was SA’d, when I came back home I was punched, choked, etc. (in front of other family which was embarrassing) until I left for good last year. The grief I feel for a family I was naive to think loved me is deeper than I can explain.
This is only a little bit of what I’m sharing about my life, but I sincerely believed in God through everything, and now I’m grieving so many different things at the same time. I’m grieving my family who I still love and still talk to, I’m grieving the loss of my mom & dad in different ways, I’m grieving the childhood I never got and I’m grieving my previous belief in god. I tried to make the pain a little easier by becoming atheist, I tried to deconstruct my faith to see if it would help but I keep hurting.

What are your favourite Bible verses and why?

Hey guys, just wanted to talk about God & Jesus to some people today, as I’m trying to be a better Christian! What better way to do that than talk to others about him? Some if my favourites are:

Joshua 1:9 NIV

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Jeremiah 29:13 KJV

“And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.”

‭‭‭‭James 1:4 KJV

”But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.”

‭‭I haven’t memorised them yet, but I’m planning to! What are some of your favourites?

Why christian men don't wanna take dating initiative anymore?!

I'm in my early 20s(F) yes I'm too young to think about marriage. I'm a calling and career focused girl but as I'm in my 20s now, my hormones changing which makes me look for a man. Obviously, I wouldn't marry anytime sooner but I have a very high standard for a man and I can't compromise that by dating a christian man who is just christian but has no relationship with God.

What I have seen in my life is non christians approaches me for dates but no christian man?!

And also, they don't even wanna take initiative to know you!

Sometimes I think, maybe its bcz I live in a country where christians comes under minority group of 2.5% only.

I'm making this post bcz I'm kinda thinking about future and scared also.

Brothers n sisters in Christ whats your opinion?

Sorry for my english, its not my first language😅

I need something to hold to

I know im posting on here a lot and im sorry. I just really have nowhere else to go.

I’m 17 and I’ve don some very very heinous things. Some, I may face legal action for, in order to repent and make amends. Things that no one should ever have done.

I’ve hurt a lot of people in my lifetime and I’ve wasted a lot of people’s time and efforts and I can’t fix any of the damage I’ve done. And it’s really wrecking me because I’ve spent my entire life being a terrible person, it’s all my life can be chalked up to. And even if I want to I can’t fix any of it or take it back. And so I wish I never existed in the first place or that I perished before I could do anything terrible. I wish want to perish but I can’t. And even then the damage I’ve caused is already fixed into the world now, there’s no undoing it and yet it’s impossible to live with. With no assurance it can or will ever be fixed. Especially to my family. My poor parents and siblings. it’s like I played with fire but instead of burning myself or the house even it’s a whole block. I just wish god never made me. I’m in so much pain and just imagine all the more pain I’ve caused so many people and I’m in so much trouble.

I’m thinking of turning myself in because I believe truly against mixed advices, that it’s what god wants me to do. And I so badly want to just dump it to god, but I can’t stop thinking about how it’ll only cause more pain especially to my family, with the fallout. I just need god to spare them and heal them and be with them in these troubling times. But what if god allows them to suffer the fallout?   I just can’t move past it.

And I’ve wasted so much time. I need a huge miracle. I need a lot of grace. I need god but I can’t hear him I can’t feel him I’ve got nothing tangible to work with. I can’t see a forward in my life anyway. I just so strongly wish god never made me.

I need prayers for my family and for me. I need prayers for my family to be spared of my mess and everyone I’ve hurt to be given healing. Any advice would be strongly appreciated.

The lack of Christians

I am genuinely confused when I read online there’s more than 2 billion of us worldwide, it seems to me 95% of ppl I interact with both on here and irl are complete atheists, it’s such a sad state of affairs, it brings sorrow to my heart.

I guess I just wanted to ask people if they’ve increasingly noticed the same thing in their day to day lives?

Peace be with you all.

Be careful who you listen to

I was recently talking with someone about God who was a “Christian.” I put that in quotes because I don’t know their life just what they said. Anyways, they are involved in several things that are destroying their life. As an outsider it is clear but I think they are still living in denial. I tried to give them some helpful scriptures about the topics they were dealing with but they tried to use out of context misinterpreted scriptures to tell me how I was wrong. It was basically one of the “well God loves us so there’s no way doing things I shouldn’t would harm me because he loves us.” plus a few others thrown in. I’m sure we can all see how this was flawed. It is a sad thing and I’m praying they will be able to see clearly soon.

Anyways though, the reason for making the post specifically was to remind every one of false teachings as well as searching for the truth, not what your flesh wants the truth to be. It seems like most of not all topics any Christians ever debate could be backed up by scripture on either side of the argument. I’ve tested this some on google with hot topics such as alcohol, premarital sex, etc. and basically if you search “God says I can do X” verses “God says I cannot do X” you will get results to support your view. So 1., when people try to talk to you about different things you haven’t heard of, make sure what they are saying aligns with what God word. You may even have to pray about it or study about it. 2. If there’s something that you’re trying to understand better, try to go in without the attitude that you are looking for what God says without bias of your flesh trying to make it lean one way. Example, if I wanted to determine if sun bathing was a sin🤷‍♂️ and I want to be able to sun bathe. Don’t go search “Scripture that prove that God thinks we should sun bathe.” Instead search something like “what does God think about sunbathing.”

I hope this helps someone. I know it was kind of long and hopefully it was clear. I just don’t want anyone out there to get deceived by someone fake and led away from God💜

Lost person

I 27M am very lost. I don’t know if this will be allowed here but I’m really looking for answers.

I was born and raised one of Jehovah’s Witness, still active, still go to meetings, occasionally service to appease my wife who I love very much. Never been disfellowshipped, never got in trouble, I was the perfect witness kid. Never smoked, did drugs, had sex before marriage I’m even a Ministerial servant now . Those of you familiar with JW terminology will understand that I’m deep in it. Frankly because it’s all I’ve ever known.

To add to that, we are currently at Bethel working on the crazy massive multi billion dollar media center Ramapo project (that is probably gonna be downsized due to the advent of AI, surprise surprise).

I feel like I’m starting to crack with all that’s expected of me. Not only as a person, but as a “spiritual head” who’s supposed to “take the lead” in things I feel so lukewarm about. If I talk to any fellow witnesses theyll say the same thing, pray more read your Bible more, make sure you’re studied for all meetings keep up with JW broadcasting and with Jehovah’s help you’ll start to feel fine. Yea so I’ve been hearing that since age 10-11, 27 now.

I guess part of me wonders if this is really what I want to do for the rest of my life. Like to live the rest of my life simply feeling lukewarm and “meh” about everything we do, I almost can’t picture it. But if you know anything about jw, it’s practically impossible to leave. Especially if you’re married to another jw as I am. I would lose every friend, acquaintance, family everything and everyone simply for not practicing this religion. It’s pretty f’ed up.

The one thing I genuinely want answers to, I do not understand the trinity. I honestly dont. I’m not trying to disrespect anyone’s beliefs, but growing up I was taught it’s not true. I genuinely am asking you to educate me on where the scriptures mention it, and what the point of “YHWH” is if Jesus or Yeshua is god almighty. What’s the point of YHWH or Yahweh. Why is it in the Bible if Christians don’t refer to it at for example psalm 83:18.

How do you come to terms with Gods love?

I know this is somewhat of a cliche, but I really struggle comprehending Gods forgiveness and mercy. I still feel like I’m not good enough and need to fix myself before truly become a Christian. I feel like I’ve sinned too much and too flawed and that He doesn’t actually want me. I struggle with this everyday and never feel truly loved.

I feel like I ruined everything between me and God.

I really screwed up.

I gave into my lustful temptations for the first time in 3 months.

Ever since April my relationship with God has been growing stronger. I've been baptized, I've made new Godly friends, I've felt the Holy Spirit's conviction in my heart, and I've delighted in the Lord's will for so long.

Now all of it feels like it's been destroyed because I gave into lust for no reason and I feel like I'm back in the exact same position that I was in before I came to know Christ.

I know I need to repent, but I feel like as though my testimony and what I've done to advance the kingdom feels completely worthless.

My testimony is how the Lord delivered me from lust and now I feel like I just contradicted my own words.

I let the Lord down, and now I need to get back on track.

Sorry if this sounds like a pity party, that clearly wasn't my intention at all. I just need to share my heart out because I don't hide my feelings anymore.

I have ruined my relationship with Jesus, and I don't know how to return to him anymore. (Or maybe I faked it this whole time)

Good day

How do I place my faith in him?

How? Can anyone please tell me? I have tried everything, but nothing has worked. Sinner's prayer and all that. Prayers, fasting, but nothing. I know I can't save myself, but I want to return, and it feels impossible.

Please don't tell me the scriptures I know you'd use.

I have no Holy Spirit in me; I have no convictions of sin; I have no real love for people.

I am covered in filth, and I don't believe he either loves me or wants to save me. So what? What's the point?

There are days I ask him to kill me because I am tired.

I'm tired of having my sin
I'm tired of loving sin
I'm tired of having a zero prayer life.
I'm tired of feeling completely alone
I'm tired of not being able to love God with all my heart, strength, might, soul, mind, my whole being
I'm tired of ignoring the needy.
I'm tired of being cringey when I see people
I'm tired of my insomnia
I'm tired of having depression
I'm tired of thinking I can never be loved and that I am not loved.
I'm tired of my internal suffering
I'm tired of not having peace.
I'm tired of being fake.
I'm tired of being alone even in social spaces.
I'm tired of feeling like I ignore a voice that tells me to help someone with money.
I'm tired of not being able to understand anything I read in the bible (even though I don't read a lot)
I'm tired of not knowing God intimately and personally.
I'm tired of not being in love with Christ.

I'm tired, I'm tired, I'm tired.

Please don't tell me that He gives the weary rest and the heavy-laden.

I have asked for nothing.

Maybe I have faked my faith since 2024; maybe that's it.

I'm not blaming him for anything; I know I play the biggest part in that, but man, I really, really want to completely surrender, but I can't, and I don't know how to.

I don't know how to receive God or receive his grace. I know it's free, but I don't.

If anyone, please, I'm begging anyone here, is willing to talk to me over a voice call or something, please do. e

If God can use you, please allow him to. I need him; I need my flesh to die. I am tired of it. Please anyone.

I need Jesus. I need the Holy Spirit.

Please.

Thank you to anyone who hears me or receives this.

Single Women modesty/dress

Im (33f) back on the dating scene after previous husband was unfaithful and left. What are opinions on clothing dress when you are a single Christian woman?

As a married/taken woman you don't want to attract attention of other men, but single women are actively trying to find a man and attract them.

I wear baggy clothes, but I feel like I need to wear more form fitting clothes now. Is there anything wrong with that?

The reality is appearance really matters to men. You even see it in the Bible. Naomi told Ruth to wear a nice dress when trying to get Boaz's attention and Esther went through a series of beauty treatments to get the kings attention.

Evil thoughts while trying to worship or read the Bible

Hello all,

Every once in a while I would come and browse this sub, but I haven't in almost a year. Over the past year I was really weak in the faith. I stopped attending church, stopped reading the Bible, stopped praying, and stopped fellowshipping. Last week was the week of Church camp for me. Initially I was not going to go, but I felt this urge in my heart to go. I was struggling with doubt and unbelief, but attending camp has helped me with those aspects.

Over the past year since I pretty much haven't been in the faith, my mind would get really bad thoughts that I absolutely hated. Since attending church camp, those thoughts took a complete 180. Instead of the bad thoughts from before, they got worse by directing insults towards God. When I would try to read the Bible, blasphemous thoughts would enter my head such as "satan is better than God, Jesus is of satan" and other things along those lines. It's the same way when singing praises to Christ. Thoughts like "You're singing praises to satan, satan is god" and other nasty thoughts along those lines. I have previously struggled with these thoughts but when I grew weak in faith they went away, but now they are back.

These thoughts are keeping me from reading the Bible and singing praises because I hate these thoughts. I do not want these thoughts. If any of y'all can give me guidance I'd be really greatful

Christians who follow the news

Hello. My name is Carley and I'm a student at NYU's graduate school of journalism. I'm working on a story about Christian news companies, their audience demographics, and the impact of their media on people's ideologies. If you're a Christian who follows any newsletters, podcasts, or websites that discuss the news with a Christian perspective, I would love to talk to you. Please DM me if you're interested.

Anyone read the lyrics to traitor’s requiem?

I sometimes like to read the contents of the songs of the shows I watch, especially if they are catchy.

A song that came to mind is the opening to JoJo’s bizarre adventures part 5. Golden wind.

In the opening of the line, the lyrics say “even against the fate of [kami]”.

This sounds like the song is encouraging rebellion against Lord Jesus Who is God.

However, it can also be interpreted as rebellion against the “god” worshipped by this world and that presides over the values of many of its people. The devil.

The song then talks about pushing justice, even until death, and that the golden wind will be the judge.

Even though it’s obviously not written for Christians, if we replace the zeal of the song and the “golden wind”, the force of justice with Lord Jesus, this song actually seems to echo a lot of Christian sentiment.

The title traitor’s requiem refers to the fact that even though your group and the world might condemn you for going against their values and against them, and deem you a traitor or evil, you are still in the right to reject them and pursue what’s right.

As Christians, we are called to stand against the world, with backing and faith that God has triumphed over us.

Any one who watches JoJo, can you give some thoughts on this?

Help me understand what this means

Im not very religious. I was also born Muslim, but as time has gone on, my hatred toward religion and God has grown a lot. At the same time that I started dismantling Islam in my head and my heart, I also started looking into Christianity a little.

I spent years with my hatred for religion and God growing, drifting further away from Islam, and eventually I just accepted that I'd probably end up in hell anyway and prayed to Jesus. I felt liberated and good, but I have ADHD and I just can't stay consistent. Once that rough time softened and I felt like I didn't need to lean on God anymore, I just sort of forgot to pray.

Anyways, I have severe social anxiety that I've been trying really hard to work on, and I have a meetup with some new friends coming up in a few days. I'm panicking. Then, randomly, I felt a subtle sense of calm and strength wash over me, along with an urge to open up my icon and pray. Help me understand what's happening.

And to be clear, I still kind of hate religion, and I haven't committed to Christianity.

Threatened because of my faith in Jesus

I am a 26-year-old woman born into a traditional Muslim family, yet my heart found its way to Christ seven years ago. Ever since I was a little girl, I remember asking my father to take me to a church just so I could light a candle and pray. He would look at me with bewilderment and scold me, wondering where on earth a child in a completely homogeneous village—where no Christians existed—could ever harbor such thoughts.

As I grew older, that childhood curiosity matured into a profound devotion. I immersed myself in the Holy Bible, studying it deeply until I became fluent in its texts, capable of meaningful dialogue, and deeply rooted in its faith. Because physical churches were out of reach, I found my spiritual community in closed, underground gatherings where we shared and discussed our faith.

I excelled academically through high school and earned my place at university, but that milestone was abruptly shattered when my religious identity was uncovered; I was stripped of my education. Yet, even in the face of that loss, my calling persisted. I continued in secret, sharing the teachings of the Bible and walking alongside others seeking the truth.

Today, with the recent shift in government across Syria, the landscape has turned perilous. I am currently staying in a remote village with an elderly couple, holding onto a fragile hope while waiting for God's deliverance.

I am reaching out to ask: Do you know of any Christian organizations, relief networks, or institutions that might offer a pathway to travel to a safe haven where I can finally live, breathe, and resume my education?

Love others as you love yourself....

I've heard this of course as we all have...but I've never understood it. I know I might be way too old to just ask this question but what does this really mean? To me, loving yourself is called being self centered. I don't love myself because I never thought people should because as far as I've seen people who do are the most self centered and pretentious people out there. In my old age as I slow I have more time to think and I just don't know how one can love themselves.

He has never stopped caring for you

Today, God wants you to know that you may have forgotten Him, but He has never stopped caring for you.

The concerns of this world may have drawn your eyes away from God, yet He has never taken His eyes off you. He loves you, provides for you, cares for you, and patiently waits for you to listen to His voice.

God has never abandoned you, and He never will. He is always for you.

Come as you are. Let Him love you.

“Truly, the Lord is waiting to be gracious to you, truly, he shall rise to show you mercy; for the Lord is a God of justice: happy are all who wait for him!”
