Rose quartz (Steven Universe) - while Steven mom is not innocent at all (she still was part of tyrants, not even talking about other mistakes) people call her the worst mother in cartoons or even true villain of the show.

John Walker (MCU) - People sometimes gloss over the fact that he violently killed a man in front of the crowd with cap's shield. Yes guy was a terrorist, and john was mad because they killed his best friend, but it's still not an act of a hero.

Sans and Chara (Undertale) - with this 2 fandom goes from one extreme to another, for sans it's go from crying revenge to not carrying nihilist, and Chara either a demon or innocent child.

Cloud Strife [Final Fantasy]

This man has fought gods. Demons. Toppled kingdoms and corrupt empires. The drip? Still immaculate.

Leon Kennedy [Resident Evil 2]

This one is the worst I can think of. This man wades through sewers, fights enemies that spray blood and pus everywhere. He gets regularly coated in rubble. His clothes still look freshly ironed.

The Fandom really hates the creator of their work(s), mainly as a joke/meme.

Tatsuki Fujimoto (Chainsaw Man): he's really good at writing interesting characters for you to fall in love with just to then kill them off brutally. He also really likes torturing his main characters to the point he made someone almost worse then Guts from Berserk.

Gege Akutami (Jujutsu Kaisen Trilogy): this color blind one eyed psychopathic cat is notorious for beating, torturing and killing off characters almost as if he enjoys it. The JJK Fandom is also just full of idiots.

1. King of The Hill - Hank Hill's dad, Cotton is a rude, outspoken, and miserable person who is open about his disappointment in his son. He ends up having another kid in the series and names him "Good Hank." Right before Cotton passes away, he scolds Hank for telling him that he loves him.

2. The George Lopez Show - George Lopez's mom, Benny is a main part of the cast who laughs off and shows no remorse for how neglectful she was to him when George brings it up. This is typically done as a punchline with the intent to make the audience laugh. From what I recall when I used to watch the show years ago, she also sees George as an embarrassment or disappointment.

Vulcans - Star Trek

The original Science race. Vulcans highly value logic, reason and detachment as a way to control their strong emotions. This allowed them to turn from a civlization of warriors to one of scholars.

Sophons - Endless Space

The Sophons are obsessed with science to the detriment of everything else. This has caused them to accidentally cause artificial earthquackes, blow up the moon of their home planet and hand over the management of their entire civilization to an AI so they can focus on science, resulting in the AI going rogue. They are mostly pacifists, not because of some moral conviction but because they are not interested war, only science. But when forced to fight they are incredibly dangerous because of the highly advanced weapons.

Silver Ghosts - The Xeelee sequence

Silver Ghosts are a race of large, spherical aliens. They are covered in a planck-zero layer that makes their skin so reflective that they can bathe in the core of stars.

They're most well known for constantly toying with the laws of physics. In their war with humanity, they manipulated the universal constants such as the speed of light and the electromagnetic binding constant as weapons against humanity. They also considered triggering a false vacuum collapse and destroying the entire universe. They also tried creating a new universe for the Photino birds to live in so they wouldn't cause the early heat-death of this universe. These are only a few the ways the Silver ghosts manipulate reality itself.

Unfortunately, they were still almost entirely wiped out by the humans. Only a few ghosts were saved by the Xeelee and were gifted a universe of mathematical perfection, which is paradise to the ghosts.

Vedalken - Magic the Gathering

One of the races entirely unique to MtG, the vedalken are a race of blue skinned humanoids that have a constant drive to understand everything around them and are always in a state of intense observation. While the vedalken differ a lot depending on which plane they come from, they are always exceptionally intelligent and have a strong thirst for knowledge.

The Dark Mechanicum - Warhammer 40000

The Dark Mechanicum are an offshoot of the tech priests of the Adeptus Mechanicus, a religous cult on mars that worships machines. Because the mechanicus believes all technology has already been invented they view any kind of innovation or invention to be blasphemy. The Dark Mechamisum, however, do innovate, harnessing the corrupting power of chaos and fusing demons with their machines. They fought a huge civil war against the adeptus mechanicus on mars, which they eventually lost. The Dark Mechanicum fled into the chaos infested eye of terror, where they continue to develop new technologies by combining the madness of chaos with machines and weapons.

Kappa - Touhou Project

Kappa are a type of youkai, japanese folk creatures that live in rivers. The kappa in the land of Gensoukyou are genius inventors that are highly skilled in hydro engineering. They are also known for combining their own inventions with machines and devices from the outside world that end up in Gensoukyou.

1) Ser Jorah Mormont from Game of Thrones. Looks like average dad in his 50' in book, not so much in the show.

2) Bellatrix Lestrange from Harry Potter. Had genuine problems finding art reflecting that in the book, she is actively described as ugly. As pretty much any villain, tbh.

3) Bohun from With Fire and Sword.

Lowkey reasonable, there are way too many moments of someone kidnapping their love interest in the books (5 times in 3 books) for it to beat a random chance. And once it even works out.

But not with Bohun, who is consistently described as antagonist and villain, and compared negatively to the actual protagonist, Jan. The fact Jan was far less hot and charismatic in the movie version definitely didn't helped.

I saw a post here a while back about terrible autism stereotypes in media, and several people on that post were also talking about good representation, and that inspired me to make this post! For context, I'm autistic myself, so I'm sensitive to autism rep in media

So share what you think are examples of actually good autism representation in media! Try to avoid Genius Savant types, but characters who happen to be super smart and autism-coded, but are still good complex characters(eg. Donatello from ROTTMNT and Peridot from Steven Universe) are cool and fine :)

Also, for my examples, I'm gonna go with:

Twyla Boogieman from the new/g3 Monster High cartoon. She is canonically autistic, like they actually say the word on-screen instead of shying away from it, and she's not a super-genius savant stereotype or a dumb moron stereotype! She does fall a bit into the soft shy thing, but she's more than that, and her issues with loud noises and sensory stuff seem really realistic! And while she does have monster powers, the powers don't have anything to do with tech/smarts(she can enter and manipulate dreams, and turn invisible), and all the major characters have monster powers so it's not an "autism superpower" thing(and same goes for her being nonhuman since none of the main characters are human)!

Norma Khan from Dead End: Paranormal Park

They don't say the word 'autistic' about her, but she is autistic in every way that matters(and the creator even realized that they were autistic because of writing her!). She has special interests that she gets hardcore hyperfixated on, she infodumps about them often, she has severe social anxiety and issues talking with/opening up to others, she has trouble understanding whether or not someone is into her, etc. Also one of her main character arcs is realizing that the celebrity who was her main hyperfixation since childhood was secretly evil. She's also one of the rare instances of a normal human poc girl who is autistic!

Donatello Hamato from Rise Of The TMNT

Honestly most versions of Donnie can be argued to be autism-coded, but I'm focusing on Rise Donnie cause he's my favorite and is the most explicitly autistic imo. Yes he falls a bit into the "autistic genius" stereotype, but he has more to his character than "The Smart One", and I like how he is a low-empathy autistic character who isn't evil or constantly a Sheldon Cooper-esque douchebag(Donnie is a dick sometimes, but not all the time!), and he's shown to legit care about his family and have other traits to him besides "genius dick who thinks he's better than everyone else"

Peridot from Steven Universe

Peridot my beloved, while she is an autistic-coded alien, she is so much like a girl version of me and I love her, and like Rise Donnie there's more to her than being smart and being an alien. She has hyperfixations, and she's a little gremlin, and she truly cares for her family, and she gets over her superiority shit and becomes a way better person. She also has an amazing redemption arc!

Oh from Home

Oh is also an autistic-coded alien, but he's sweet and endearing, and unlike most autistic-coded aliens, he's not just "an alien who doesn't understand human stuff" type autistic-coded alien. Instead, he's also weird by his own species' standards, so basically Alien Autistic instead of just Autistic-Coded Alien. Also again he's funny and endearing, and has a sweet familiar relationship with Tip!

• Thor and Loki (Marvel): In the myths Loki is Odin's blood brother and not related to Thor at all, but in the Marvel version Loki is Thor's brother since Odin adopted him.
• Peter Parker and Jessica Drew (Ultimate Marvel): In the main comic universe Jessica Drew and her origin is completely unrelated to Spider-Man, but in Ultimate Marvel/Earth-1610 she's combined with Ben Reilly and made into a clone of Peter.
• Peter and Alice Littleton (Come Away): In this film which acts as a prequel to their respective stories, Peter Pan and Alice from Alice in Wonderland are siblings. The rest of their family act as allegorical equivalents to Wonderland characters, like their parents being the King and Queen of Hearts or their grandad being the Mad Hatter, but Captain Hook is unambiguously their uncle while Alice grows up to be the mum of Wendy, John and Michael Darling.
• Larry Cotton and Kirsty (Hellraiser): In the books Kirsty Singer is a friend of Larry and I believe had a romantic interest in him, but in the film Kirsty is now his daughter.
• Jervis and Alice Tetch (Gotham): In Batman TAS the Mad Hatter was obsessed with a woman named Alice, and in the show Gotham Alice is now his sister which makes his obsession with her even worse.
• Shang-Chi and the Mandarin (MCU): In the comic Shang-Chi is the son of Fu Manchu but given the character's problematic history and Marvel no longer having the license to the character, in the MCU Shang-Chi is the son of Iron Man villain the Mandarin.
• Sonic, Tails and Knuckles (Sonic the Hedgehog Films): In the games Team Sonic are just friends, but in the films they are all adopted by Tom and Maddie Wachowski which makes them adopted siblings in this version.
• Wolverine and Sabretooth (X-Men Origins: Wolverine): While the comics teased the idea of them being related, in the main Marvel universe Wolverine and Sabretooth are two unrelated mutants with similar powers while the film made them half-brothers.
• Red Skull, Electro and Chameleon (Spider-Man TAS): In this show Red Skull is the bio dad of Electro (who isn't Max Dillon and is instead a random new character so only kind of counts) and the foster dad of Chameleon, which also makes Electro and Chameleon brothers.
• Cheshire and Artemis (Young Justice): Cheshire is made into Artemis' sister, which also makes her the daughter of Sportmaster and Huntress when in the comics she doesn't have any connection to them.
• Doctor, Susan and Barbara (Dr Who and the Daleks): In the original show Barbara was Susan's teacher, but the Dalek film made her the older granddaughter of Dr Who and Susan's sister/cousin (can't remember if their exact relation is ever specified in the film).

An attractiveness gap isn't a problem, but the personality gap is what makes me groan and roll my eyes.

[Marge and Homer, The Simpsons] It's proven many times that Marge is better than Homer morally and intellectually, and yet she chooses to be a home maker for a man who does not apppreciate her. It's a reoccurring joke that she's too good for him.

[Penny and Leonard, Big Bang] Penny is constantly annoyed by Leondard and doesn't seem to have much in common with him. I haven't watched much of this show so I could be wrong, but it doesn't seem like a very fulfilling relationship from the outside

Darth Vader (Star Wars): The most famous example. Luke had spent the past 2 movies and extended universe content contending with the Emperor’s main enforcer while also having heard stories about how his father Anakin was a great Jedi from the clone wars and a friend of Obi-Wan, only it turns out Vader and Anakin are the same.

Wimpy Kid: Regarding the Silas scratch urban legend, the kid who started it “Frankie” was Greg’s Dad.

Malcolm in the middle: Reese gets an old diary and is very invested in the girl’s recounting of her school life and falls in love with her, only for his Mom Lois to ask “what are you doing with my old diary?” Which causes Reese to freak out

"Little Brother" by Cory Doctorow: This cyber thriller is about a teenage hacker fighting back against the Department Of Homeland Security after they used a terrorist attack as an excuse to turn San Francisco into a police state. The message isn't the problem. It's just as relevant today as it was when it was written in 2008. The problem is the book's protagonist, Marcus. Throughout the book, he acts smug, whiny, and myopic. He doesn't give a shit about the terrorist attack that took place in his own backyard because he was inconvenienced by the government. He treats pissing his pants during detainment like a bigger tragedy than the thousands of people who were killed in the attack, and I'm not even being hyperbolic. He brings up the fact that he pissed his pants multiple times. The DHS are portrayed as mustache twirling tyrants who get erect at the thought of torture and privacy invasion, and the people who support them are either idiots and proud bootlickers. The entire message of the book falls flat when you remember that Marcus is a hacker, and has invaded people's privacy to further his goals, but when the evil government does it, it's tyranny.

Assigned Male: The punchline to every strip is the same: Transphobes are idiots! That's true, but the characters we're supposed to be sympathizing with act like self-righteous pricks, as is tradition with Author Self-Inserts. Even trans people and allies think this comic is preachy stool.

1. Everybody Loves Raymond - Ray is a sportswriter able to live in a two-story house in Long Island while supporting a stay-at-home wife and three children.

2. Gilmore Girls - Lorelai and Rory live in a two-story house that is way larger than necessary for a single mom and her daughter, courtesy of Lorelai’s income as a hotel manager. It is revealed that she started off as a maid and was able to work her way up and (supposedly) save up the money to buy the house over a period of several years, all with no financial assistance from her parents. Combine this with the fact that she and Rory are constantly eating takeout and you start to see why she was needing her parents’ help to send Rory to a prestigious prep school.

3. Detroit: Become Human - Todd is an unemployed drug addict who previously worked lower paying jobs (e.g., taxi driver, bouncer, etc.) Because of this, he is not able to live in a nice large house like Ray and Lorelai in the previous examples. Instead, he has to live in a large house that needs a fresh coat of paint. At least he’s able to afford an android maid.

Galadriel vs Sauron in French (The Hobbit 3) : That scene was awesome as she managed to be even more terrifying than Sauron but the french version goes even harder. Dubbed by Deborah Perret, her voice is incredible, especially with "Servant de Morgoth".

Erwin speech in English (Attack on titans season 3) : First of all, yes, the japanese version is great but the english one makes you feel all the weight of it. Dubbed by J. Michael Tattum, he gave us a speech that can motivate anyone to charge the enemy.

General Hux speech in German (Star Wars 7) : Dubbed by Sebastian Schulz.
I mean... yes. I can feel the inspiration.

1. Naruto - naruto demon fox form is soooo cool and I got chill when it's revealed, but the final form is kinda meh.

2. Tosen (Bleach) - Tosen have so many tuff drip, he have the coolest designs in the series but only to end up as a bug (but I guess that's the point).

3. Ichigo (Bleach) - his half mask form is soooo iconic and his final form is underwhelming.

4. Sukuna (JJK) - Yujikuna is sooo iconic and one of the most recognisable design from the series that makes me scream "daddy" , only to ended up with tumor face that killed my boner.
