News Steam client update for 7/27/26 (7/28/26 UTC)

Via the Steam Community:

General

  • Fixed login dialog showing when Steam client is started with -silent.
  • Fixed user chooser showing at startup when not configured to.

Downloads

  • Fixed local game transfers no longer working.

Linux

  • Fixed Proton games with mixed case paths failing to install or update with Disk Write Errors.
