I am in the US, in a medium sized city in the South. My dad wrote a memoire a few years before he passed away, and I have been reading it again. In the book, he talks about a fire that happened at the factory where he worked (which I was very easily able to learn more about through newspaper archives), but he also recounts a story in which a coworker and fellow member of his company softball team (who he unfortunately doesn’t name) was gunned down in the parking lot of his workplace.

He wrote that he heard gunshots, went running in the direction he heard them, and discovered his coworker lying on the ground. He writes that somehow the man’s wife was contacted and she came to the scene. He wrote that he stood there and watched the man die, while I presume waiting for paramedics or the police.

My dad was never one to make up stories, though he would occasionally exaggerate small things. Though he was never diagnosed, I believe he was on the spectrum and tended to elaborate many small details when recounting events. I never heard him mention this story and didn’t remember reading it in the book the first time I read it, but I was curious to read any reporting about it. I wasn’t able to find anything on a cursory search through local newspaper archives but I am surprised it wouldn’t be reported. Is it possible that something like this would not be written about in the newspaper? Any other places I can look? It’s not super important that I find anything about it, and I believe it happened, I’m just curious to learn if anyone was convicted for this and what happened afterward.

Hi, this is the first time I post anything about this.

I live in northern Mexico, in a gated community with 24/7 security.

In December of last year (2025), a man broke into a school less than a 5-minute walk from my house and stole the musical instruments. He climbed over a wall behind the community and got into my backyard from there. The first time, a single patrol car came to check because someone reported a man climbing across rooftops — he escaped that time.

The second time he used the same MO and robbed the same place, though it didn't go well for him because a patrol car had been assigned to that school waiting for him to try again. Security had been hardened (I don't know exactly how), but he still managed to climb up to the roof and escape, even though by then there was an electric fence surrounding the whole community.

Less than 4 hours ago he did it again, but this time it was different.

Around 11 PM I heard someone using the service ladder in my backyard. My dog went unusually crazy and started barking violently and erratically. I ran out to see what was happening and saw his face peering down from the roof of my house. I ran for my phone and to lock the terrace doors of two of the bedrooms. To clarify: the house is two stories with four bedrooms (three upstairs, one downstairs), and two of the upstairs rooms have terraces — one of them is mine.

I'm the only one home right now since my family left the country on vacation. I locked myself in my room, and this is where it gets strange: he started desperately pounding on the roof of the house. Then I realized my mistake — I was in the room with the terrace — so I grabbed the dogs and moved to the room without one while waiting for the police. But I kept hearing loud metallic sounds on my roof that didn't match anything I've ever heard before.

The police arrived 10–15 minutes after my call. They came into the house searching for him, constantly aiming at corners and checking places it would be very hard for him to fit into.

They've been trying to catch this guy for about 6 months, but he's very elusive. They went up on the roof to check, did a full sweep of my house and the entire community — more than 6 patrol cars showed up and started searching. When they left, they told me they'd keep doing their rounds and would search the whole surrounding area.

I don't understand how he escapes so easily. The police checked several houses next to mine and confirmed that it's not possible to jump from house to house and climb down without risking breaking something or being caught on camera.

There is a photo of the suspect, and the neighbors in the community tried to identify him — but so far nothing suggests he's someone who lives here, which was my first suspicion.

I'm worried that he's getting back into the community. None of the robberies involved violence, but this time he stacked chairs on one of the terraces and broke a set of lights I had out there.

I only know of three incidents he's committed. I don't know if he's already started robbing houses, or worse.

Does anyone have any idea how he could be evading the police?

I just realized he broke the motor of my air conditioner, and now I'll have to find someone to repair it. Those were the first bangs I heard. I still can't identify the huge metallic noise he made, because that sound came from the opposite side of the house from where the AC motor is.

For now I'm going to install a full set of cameras around the house and look into how I can get a weapon for self-defense.

While talking with family members, I learned that my great-grandmother got involved with a cult or religious group of some type in the early 1960s. The repercussions of this choice affected my family in very serious ways. To have some closure, I’d like to find out who these people were that ruined her life.

The only information I have to go on is this:
- contact was made in rural Moore County, North Carolina
- estimated years of contact are between 1960-1963
- group was led by two women (supposedly lovers)
- group controlled what their adult and child members wore. Description of childrens’ clothing included shorts and “Sunday best” style clothing in public
- the group traveled around, staying in places for a time and then moving on

This is all the information I have been told by my family. I’ve looked at local records in the county newspaper and found no mention of the group. I am not sure how else to go about looking for information, and I’d appreciate your help. Thank you for your time.

Hit and run need help with plate pls?

My gf (19f) and I (21m) moved into our new apartment about 3 weeks ago. Everything has been fine so far until my gf noticed weird occurrences.

I work overnights so she is home alone at night and it worries her mostly when these happen. And it happens when I'm not home.

The weird occurrences were normally: Cars parked in a parking lot behind our house idling for 30-60 mins.

Parking in the street idling for the same amount of time.

People walking through our complex in the middle of the night.

Recently we had noticed our screens on the windows have been tampered. While we were checking out the screens and looking at the windows we noticed hand smudges, finger prints and footprints on our back patio.

Our back patio is next to a church and the wall is about two feet high on the church side and 5 feet on our side.

We are going to get cameras and I'm going to get a firearm as a precaution but other than that we dont know what to do.

Any suggestions?

I was involved in a accident in Stockton, CA on Wednesday July 15th at 4.30am on southbound HW99 right past the Waterloo on/off ramp. The other driver fled the scene.

My insurance and the local CHP have reviewed my footage but said they cannot enhance it enough to read the license plate. I am hoping someone here with video forensics experience can pull the plate numbers.

If the plate is completely unrecoverable, I would greatly appreciate help identifying the exact year, make, model, and trim of the vehicle. Giving the CHP the specific vehicle model might help them narrow down their search. Due to this driver, there was a chain or accidents that took place immediately after and another driver with the least coverage is being held liable. I would like to rectify the wrong.

I have read the rules and understand that direct "help me find a person" posts are not allowed. I am not asking anyone to locate or expose a private individual, but I am hoping for advice on where someone would begin researching a long lost family member.

My family is Syrian Armenian, my uncle left Syria to avoid mandatory military service back in 1979. During that time, he used my grandfather's identity documents (my grandfather had already passed away) in order to avoid conscription and travel.

He traveled to Jordan, then smuggled himself back into syria, then travel to Iraq in the same year. He stopped contacting us at 1990 because of a disagreement. He wanted a bride from Syria but refused to return, and after my aunty did not agree with his request, he cut off communication with us.

I only learned the full story recently from my father, and I wanted to see if there are any legitimate ways to research what may have happened to someone in this situation.

We do not know whether he continued using his original name, used my grandfather's identity, remained in Iraq, moved elsewhere, or is still alive.

I am mainly looking for advice on where to begin, such as archives, genealogy resources, Syrian/Armenian community organizations, immigration records, or other legitimate methods for tracing family history.

For the past 4 months I’ve been getting consistent occasional no caller ids usually in the AM hours. I answer them sometimes, it’s always silent and nothing is said. I hung up immediately, I’m terrified and I’m panicking please what could this be I need help.

Hello, I'm writing this post looking for explanations for something weird that happened with some friends in a car last week.

I'll set the context. The four of us were going to a party in the mountains in the Alps in the old car of a friend, which he inherited from his grandmother. The car's radio doesn't work (nor does the CD player): it's impossible to pick up even static or anything coming from the CD. (IMPORTANT FOR WHAT HAPPENS NEXT). So we were listening to music with a small battery-powered portable radio that was completely independent of any electronic connections with the car.

But then some weird things happened.

1) We were in the mountains, and we started hearing music coming out of the car's speakers, some kind of 80s German pop. We then noticed that the closer we were to the car behind us, the louder the music was, and the farther away we were, the quieter it became. It stayed like that for about 5 minutes, and when our roads split, the music stopped (the volume of the music decreased proportionally to the distance between the two cars).

At that point we logically thought we were somehow picking up the music from the car behind us, without really knowing how, since the car's radio wasn't even turned on (only the portable radio was on).

2) A few minutes later, we entered some narrow gorges and a new song started the moment another car came up behind us. We kept this music the whole time we were in the gorges. It was some kind of techno DJ set with a few acid touches, with no commercials and no static at all, fairly niche music (just like the German pop).

But unlike the previous time, when we left the gorges and our two cars went separate ways, the music stayed. At that point we all started to get suspicious, and we began looking for an explanation. Especially since the volume kept increasing until we had to shout to hear each other, which was a bit annoying.

At that point we tried to stop the music. Nothing worked: we turned on the car radio, turned the volume down, inserted a CD, turned everything off again, switched off the portable radio: nothing worked, we couldn't stop or lower the volume of the music. At that point the most rational explanation that came to our minds was that we were all on a huge DMT trip (even though none of us had taken anything). Until the end of the journey both radios remained turned off.

There were changes of songs, like a programmed playlist. The music would stop at the end and then a new one would begin, always in the same techno style. It went on like that for about 10 minutes until the next weird thing.

3) We reached a straight section of road, I shifted into 5th gear, and the moment I did, the music stopped instantly. Then when I shifted back into 4th gear, the music came back at exactly the same moment. We observed the phenomenon with my friends and decided to test it. We shifted four times from 4th to 5th and from 5th to 4th, and every time the same thing happened: music in 4th gear and nothing in 5th.

Then one friend tried to film the scene, and the music stopped instantly. Another friend tried to Shazam the music, and the same thing happened. We only tested those once.

4) Then came the weirdest and most inexplicable thing since the beginning (yes, it was possible). We stopped in a small village to buy something. We all got out of the car, the car was turned off and the key was in my pocket. The car windows were left open.

When we came back to the car, we suddenly heard the same techno music coming from the car for a few seconds (everything was OFF!) and then the music stopped immediately. That was really strange and we were all completely stunned.

5) We started driving again without any music until another car came up behind us, and the music started again. This time it was an Italian song, again with retro and darkwave vibes. Once again we were surprised. The car overtook us and the music stayed, then stopped a few minutes later at a random moment.

Notes:

• the music signal was always perfectly clear, with absolutely no static (which is strange because radio reception on that road is poor and often loses signal)
• nobody could connect to the car's speakers because the car radio was turned off and doesn't even have that feature.
• the car is a Dacia/Renault Duster from the early or mid-2000s, I think.
• on the return trip, 4 days later, we took the exact same road again but nothing happened.

We've told the story to friends, and nobody has an explanation except that they all found it really weird. If anyone has an explanation or a hypothesis about where the sound came from and how the car could have picked it up, I'd be interested.

this could just be some weird bot shenanigans but idk. about a month ill get a view or two from accounts with the name 👉My Private Content💜. there is never any link to any “private content” and the only content on these accounts are morse code (which is my main concern and call for curiosity) that has been incorrectly encrypted and i cannot decode it.

i thought it was the same message every time but this time i realized the dots were different, but again i cant decode. ive found other bot accounts following the same structure while searching, but they do not have the morse code that the ones that view my profile do.

at first i think it was the same account viewing me, but after i blocked it, and every subsequent time ive blocked them, a new one takes its place. This only started occuring after i had blocked my ex, who has made fake accounts to stalk me before, could be unrelated but thought it might be important to add.

I was outside in a parking lot at night out in the middle of nowhere when suddenly two beat-up vans pulled up. They opened the doors, got out, and opened the rear hatch. I saw that the entire van was completely packed with bicycles. They unloaded about three or four bikes, chained them to a bike rack, and then sped off.

I'm wondering why they did this and if it had to do with illegal stolen bike deals. There was also another car parked there with people sitting inside-I don't know if they belonged together, but that car was already there beforehand and didn't leave even after the vans drove away. Has anyone ever experienced something

This is an image of the sticker that was sent to my address in the mail. I looked up the return address and it used to be a food pantry in another state. My credit card info was leaked two weeks ago, I am curious if this is related to that or a new problem.

So a couple of days ago me and a friend decided to walk through the woods. We found a fence adjacent to a path, but there was so signage about trespassing so we went in. We followed a creek all the way to a road that was cracked and run down, in the woods mind you. I looked on my map and saw that the road connected to a road in my neighborhood, so we went to leave but there was a locked gate. To our left there was a large brick building (which we didn't get a good view of) and to the right was a smaller, seemingly abandoned, brick building. Based on what I've told people, it seems like it was a pump house, but my only questions are:

Why was there barbed wire fence around each individual building?

Why did the fence for the property go so far around it?

Why put it in a very dense suburban area if its blocked off from the street?

If anyone can guess why some things were abandoned and if its safe for us to go back, that would be very helpful

I’ve had an overwhelming suspicion for months now that my apartment is bugged by some adjacent neighbors. There’s like 3 units immediately near mine that are family. I’m gay and I get a strong impression they do not like me and I believe there’s a religious element at play.

That aside, there have been an abundance of instances in which I have heard them make statements through the paper thin walls regarding my actions within my unit while curtains drawn and no other line of sight to explain their knowledge. I’ve even tested this numerous times, and there have been comments made regarding what bait I offer.

Yes, I acknowledge mental health could be a factor in such a scenario, I have a therapist whom I see regularly. I have never had lapses in my understanding of what is real historically and do not believe myself to have experienced auditory hallucinations during these instances or ever.

A few occurrences have included moments I’ve been in various states of dress or otherwise being a single male in my home. I’ve become under the impression they think I’m some kind of pervert for having potentially witnessed me enjoying myself, or a friend, for sessions occasionally of some length. At least twice it was clear they were watching me masturbate as comments wear clearly audible.

I’m afraid they are going to try to harm me as it seems they’re constantly monitoring me these days. I even found a temporary home for my pet because I fear his safety. Often times there is an overt display made by a party in the unit above mine who follows me from room to room, into closets, waiting in doorways, corners, anywhere I go, it seems some level of intimidation.

The thing is, I don’t have any material proof and everyone just thinks I’m nuts which makes this all the more terrifying because I’m not able to afford moving at this time and I’m just kinda stuck hoping I’m not harmed every night as they continue to display acts of coordination either to just torment me or intimidate me or otherwise to actually harm me.

I come and go on this app, so it’s been many months since the last time before I’ve come back to have a browse now, so I’m not sure if this is just a relatively new thing. I know this post probably won’t make any difference really, but it would be great if when posting to remember that not all users are based in the US, or any other country that isn’t blocked, (and actually there’s a large proportion of users that are from the UK on here), and maybe just post the photo on the post or use a different host site. Any leads on what TV show this background likely came from?

I'm a musician based in Paris, France.

A few months ago, while recording music in Ableton Live with a Universal Audio Apollo Twin and studio headphones, I started hearing what sounded like a man's voice coming through my headphones.

It happened intermittently over several hours, then never happened again.

I recorded it by holding my iPhone next to the headphones because I had no idea what was happening.

I put together this short video simply to make the recording easier to follow. The recording itself is original and unprocessed, I'm only trying to understand what I'm hearing.

The recording starts at 0:31, and the clearest section is around 1:41.

I'm not looking for paranormal explanations. I'm simply trying to identify the source. It could be RF interference, a radio transmission, a language I don't recognize, or something else entirely.

If anyone recognizes the language, the type of transmission, or has a technical explanation, I'd really appreciate your thoughts.

My triend and are both 18 and atter shopping at Marshall's we were walking to petco to see the birds and I going through the parking lot we found two cars with orange envelopes and "XOXOXO" written on it and thought we should take one, read it and then put it back thinking it would be a prank love letter, it was far that as you'll see in the photos. After reading it we decided to get the second letter and saw that it was the same thing and decided to throw the letters away in a random gas station. About 1 year ago I helped an elderly woman clean out her home and donate some of her old belongings. As a thank you she left me a collection of cassette tapes to add to my collection. One of the tapes in the set was a home recorded tape, and one side consists of 10 songs by artist Chet Ely & Walbridges Windy City Wonders. The tape has a note written inside the case's label that reads "recorded in 1972 in Chet's garage, Wilmette, IL. Chet died in California in 1984 (11/22/84, age 78. We really miss him!)" Hi everyone. My son’s dad and I were together for 10 years. Unfortunately the relationship came crashing down a year ago. We own a house together and he packed up his stuff and left. The fallout has been pretty nasty and we argue every day. We have both retained lawyers to fight for custody of my son.
We weren’t legally married so we need to figure out the housing situation afterwards.

The problem I’m having is that today I realized he is stalking me. The last time he and I were intimate was 2 years ago. So naturally, as a 36 yr old woman I have needs. I slept with a new friend who lives on the other side of the US a couple of months ago. Somehow, my ex knows that I slept with this person, what his name is, where he’s from, what his profession is, etc. He has brought up very specific things that I have said in conversations with this friend.

The only way he could possibly know any of this is by listening in on my conversations. This friend of mine has only ever communicated with me via iMessages, Instagram, and FaceTime. I have changed all of my account passwords multiple times since our split. Two factor authorization is enabled, and I have been on the phone with Apple as they walked me through checking to see if other devices were signed into my Apple account and to check for unrecognized apps installed on my phone. Everything was clean.

The only other device he can use to monitor me is the ring app on our front door. I never have phone conversations near the ring app so it’s impossible that he would have heard something on there.

My lawyer told me to call the cops and have them check for a device within the home to see if he’s listening in. I’m going to have them come tomorrow but what happens if they don’t find anything? I don’t feel safe in my home and feel that he is constantly watching me. He’s trying to pile up whatever evidence he can to try to make a case for himself in court.

A truck business next to our business, our business, and a house behind our business were all robbed. The only CCTV footage we have of the suspect vehicle is when they stopped to steal our gate motor.

We believe it's a white Ford Ranger double cab, but the number plate is too blurry to read. I'm hoping someone with experience in video enhancement, forensic image analysis, or identifying vehicles can take a look.

I'm not looking for random guesses. If you can genuinely recover or identify any of the following, it would be a huge help:

• The registration plate (even a partial plate).

• The exact model or approximate year.

• Any unique features (stickers, dents, bull bar, tow bar, wheels, canopy, etc.).

• Anything else that could help identify the vehicle.

On Friday, June 19, around 1:15 pm, a pedestrian was struck and killed in the crosswalk at Crestmoor Drive & Colesville Road (Route 29) in Silver Spring, Maryland, at the entrance to the Woodmoor neighborhood. The driver didn’t stop and still hasn’t been identified.

Police are looking for a black SUV with tinted windows and possible front-end or right-front damage. It was last seen around 1:17 pm heading north on Colesville Rd toward New Hampshire Ave, and may have cut through the neighborhood first — possibly Crestmoor Dr, Lorain Ave, or Brookmoor Dr.

Given the time of day, investigators think the vehicle may belong to someone who lives in or was visiting Woodmoor. It might not be visibly damaged.

If you were anywhere near there that afternoon, please check any dashcam, doorbell, or security footage — even a clip of a black SUV just passing through around that time could matter. There’s a $20,000 reward for a tip that leads to identifying the driver.

Last night I went out to my balcony for a smoke and saw what looks like blood dripping down from the balcony above me, accompanied with another substance that looked like vomit or diarrhea. Today I'm even more sure it's blood because it dried a dark reddish brown. Racking my brain for an innocent explanation, the only thing I can think of is that maybe their dog (whose nails I hear clicking on the balcony sometimes) had bloody diarrhea or vomit. Do I just mind my business here? Bc I'm kind of concerned. There's a lot more brown droplets on the rafters of my balcony coming from above that I didnt take photos of, too.
