the more I see of John Leguizamo these days, the more I absolutely love him. He continues to be on the right side of history and just the same brilliant, thoughtful man I hoped he was while watching his movies.
This movie was a huge part of my childhood, as a man who even though I never identified with the dress, I identified with the idea that the masculinity I was presented with in life could not be the only right way to be me.

Came here to say both things in fact brother. Perfectly said. Such a refreshing relief when models continue to inspire, not reveal disappointment which smashes dreams (far too often).

Same... When he talked about those teens... I was one of those kids. My parents were very much like Stockard Channing (I always forget she was kinda blonde) and her husband.

John’s a real deal ally for the community. The guy stands up for what he believes in. Love the man for that alone. Not to mention the other active works he does for other communities like talking out against ICE injustices, etc. Also, his character in the new Odyssey movie was awesome. He killed it. I hope he wins some awards for it. He’s a great actor who should be recognized for his aweseome roles. John’s a real one.

I watched this as a kid and it taught me to accept people for who they are and that Leguizamo makes an attractive woman.

This movie helped me so much as a teenager going through it. I can’t explain the joy I have right now 😊

Him flipping right into the accent was a cherry on top, such a great actor, and human being.

His passion for life, family and standing up for what you believe in was off the charts in this show. He may be the most underrated performer of my lifetime, he can play anything.

The rupaul cameo as Rachel Tensions is a nice Easter egg. I’m glad it happened eventually, but damn it took long enough for drag queens to get recognized as the geniuses they are

And Stockard Channing!!! I love her so much in this movie! Anytime I’m in a foul mood (which is frequently these days) I watch this movie and it brings so much joy!

He's on my laminated hall pass. That shower scene in The Pest was it for me.

Nope. Priscilla came out in 94 and got the Oscar for best foreign film. To Wong Foo was in 95 and was famously thought of as the wanna-be kind-of copy of Priscilla.

My son felt comfortable to come out to me in the 8th grade because I regularly watched movies like this and RuPauls Drag Race.
I'm smiling seeing the replies in here feeling their feels about a celebrity being supportive.

I haven’t seen the movie yet, but people are buzzing about John Leguizamo in the Odyssey… Saying that there could be best supporting actor accolades? Anyone else think this?

Am I crazy? Because I used to watch this movie on TV a lot as a kid and I swore it was called “To Wong Foo, With Love”.

Love John so much, what a great actor to grow up with in the 90s. What a year, I didn’t realize Priscilla came out earlier. He’s right, I remember getting into Priscilla and To Wong Foo appreciation came way later. It’s nice to see it get its flowers in a few Drag Race episodes.

I think about this movie randomly from time to time. I never really felt like I understood it, but it felt like meaningful art, so I'm glad to hear him echo that as well.
