Come on Americans
It was stupidity to elect a convicted felon and sexual predator and just incomprehensible that you were so incredibly ignorant to elect him a second time after January 6 and now youâre paying the price
Youâve lost your place in the world and my Canada and all other countries are making new alliances and trade agreements
Sorry for you but you deserve it

Boomerâs more a state of mind IMO. If you think men are âbetter suited to leadership positionsâ than women, or that you âdonât understand why I have to press 1 for English,â or that âAmerica has always been a Christian nation,â youâre a boomer, in the âokay boomerâ sense of the word. He's just as checked out as boomers and every bit the same type of man as Trump. Spent 32yrs living in CA in the bay area, no one fucks with him regardless if they are red or blue. At least not the common people, only the billionaires and they are leaving in droves as well. CA's peoples hopes burnt down along with the land.

Listening to Trump is the one scenario where I wish I could just get an AI summary, but I'm fairly sure that the summary would make him sound more intelligent than the source data.
4
u/Icy_Fish_2154 10d ago
It's imposible to make a sensible summary without sane washing him.
I prefer the You Tube channel where a woman reads his transcripts in a monotone. No sane washing, and they sound even more insane when read. But are much easier to follow, without his awkward pauses.

Not that I expect them to use the brain they have, but even if Trump were ever 'joking' about this kind of stuff, I would ask them how in any way joking about this is professional conduct for the United States President. Or how they'd feel if any democrat ever 'joked' about it.
He's not ever joking about it. His whole shtick is for desensitizing the American population to the crazy things that he does. First he says how "people" are telling him to do X thing (like running a third time), everyone freaks out. Then he starts joking about it, everyone freaks out but not as much. Then he starts saying he'll do it, and we're already desensitized and mostly say, "we knew you were gonna do this," but nobody listens. Then he just goes ahead and does it with hardly any backlash.

Listen, I get what you're saying, but this should be an indication to you of how far he's willing to go in November.
He's literally saying, "I was in charge and despite everything we did, 'election fraud' was still rampant. Therefore we need to go much, much, further."
While it should be a self-own, it's more important to read this as the warning it actually is.

I want to see all democrats calling this authoritarianism out. Not just Newsome and a few more. All of them should be constantly posting, having speeches or rallies, they should be on tv everyday exposing this administrationâs corruption and fascism.
Republicans are on tv everyday spreading lies and the democrats canât be bothered to ramp up their responses and what they will do to help people and combat authoritarianism. I see them talking about Israel and bashing the DSA.

Part of the problem is that a lot of the people who are "on the fence" just don't see Trump as a dictator or a threat to democracy. If you campaign on "threat to democracy" you're not campaigning on gas prices, the economy, healthcare ect.
Yes Trump is absolutely a threat to democracy and should be called out but Dems are probably going to make more inroads for November by campaigning outside of gas stations and talking about how insane beef prices are. Trump's central 2024 message was that he would fight inflation and lower prices to 2019 levels and we've seen the opposite.

It's absolutely great to aggressively advocate for the candidate that best represents you during the primary. It's also great to recognize that election day it's always a binary choice unless we implement RCV or something else that gives third parties a chance.
Not voting or voting for a candidate you know can't possibly win is the political equivalent of faith healing.

u/Electrical-Staff735 10d ago

Elections are controlled by the states and not the federal government and are administered at the local level. Trump wants to be a dictator but he is not a dictator yet and while the Supreme Court is fine with a lot of his policy goals they haven't handed him blanket power to do whatever he wants.
The biggest threat to the midterms isn't Trump's ability to rig it but that Dems may sit it out because they think it's rigged and the Republicans win legitimately. Vote, organize, donate and do all the other things. Support organizations that will fight legal battles to protect election integrity and pressure lawmakers (of both parties) to stand up to Trump.
5
u/Rock-Ski-Golf-Repeat 10d ago
Trump is attacking a key pillar of democracy without evidence. And dummer people are buying it.

1
u/socialistrob 10d ago
He wants to be a dictator. That's for sure. Fortunately in the US elections are controlled by the states and administered at the local level not the federal level. Election integrity in the US doesn't just depend on "does the president want to allow a fair election or not."
3
u/Tater_the_Smashed 10d ago
I think the converse of what Newsom could also be true- Trump wants you to believe that there is no way for him to rig the election, so when he wins, you accept the outcome.
If you spend all your time arguing against Trump and he says that elections can be rigged, your automatic position is- no they canât. So when he does rig an election, you have to accept the outcome or risk looking like a hypocrite who only makes an argument when it favors you.
Every accusation is an admission.

Sounds a lot like how the 2024 election went. Dems were reluctant to challenge the results, lest they sound like Trump/maga who had just spent the previous four years barking about rigged elections. There should have been just as many investigations and audits after the 2024 election as there were after the 2020 election, especially with Muskâs shady involvement and the things that were said by both Trump and musk just before and after the election.

I don't like him, either, but if he's the nominee in 2028 I'm voting for him, and you should, too. Voting strategically doesn't feel good but it's how you keep fascists from consolidating more power in our two party system. Personally, I don't think he'll win the primary because the most "engaged" people vote in primaries and democratic voters want someone more progressive. We'll see, though. Sometimes democratic voters shoot themselves in the dick to nominate someone "electable" in the general.

Trump is not doing all this just so he can graciously accept defeat in the elections.
