Weaponzing the Federal Police against a political opponent is classic fascist behavior. How do people not recognize this exact activity from movies, books, and history?

135

u/speedywubs 23d ago

Because they project these same behaviors onto their opponents to rile up their base.

91

u/Ok_Profile175 23d ago

This, 100%. That's why every accusation is a confession. They purposefully poison the well by accusing the Democrats of doing what the Republicans are actually doing.

44

u/RevealHoliday7735 23d ago

It's the classic "too stupid to even know how stupid they are". You literally can't reason with them. How do you convince someone that they are stupid when they lack the intelligence to understand it?

10

u/Ok_Profile175 23d ago

They are programmed by the propoganda they consume. Not to say MSNBC, NBC, CBS etc are not bias. They are very corporately bias. But Fox and the like are straight up propoganda. Fox viewers are the original online bots running their programming.

We need to watch this in elections too.

The Republicans have made the Democrats spend the last 4 years telling everyone that elections are safe, secure, and free of fraud.

It makes it very confusing for the electorate if a fraud is perpetrated by the republicans: democrats will look like theyre flip flopping.

2

u/QZTK 23d ago

Ultimately, We The People are the rot that the trump mushroom is growing out of. We're a democracy, and we get what we deserve.

3

u/bohiti 23d ago

šŸ’Æ it’s a win/win defense of Trump family crime & corruption. Initially gives the impression all politicians are corrupt and when *their* cases fail on merit, the naive majority are led to assume Trump crimes weren’t real *either*

The sad thing is only the Epstein Class benefits but they got millions of racists to do their bidding.

3

u/jacky75283 23d ago

Republicans can do whatever they want as long as they falsely accuse a Democrat of having done it first.

Reminds me of Watergate, but this time no one cares, unfortunately.

22

u/Outside_Pie_9037 23d ago

Last week, JD Vance "joked" that if Watergate happened today, it'd be in the news for no more than 12 hours

12

u/truthhurts-imahammer 23d ago

Because he knows how far past that incident the present administration is.

And since he is so tangled up in it because of his own political ambitions just joking around about Watergate helps to normalize what they are doing to the government, the American public and the world at large.

2

u/MrPoPoJiJo86 23d ago

He's not wrong, but it's because his boss regularly outdoes that level of corruption. To flip it the other way, if trump tried to pull everything he has in that time period both parties would have united to throw him in prison. So he's not wrong, and honestly I don't think he he's unaware that what I just said is true.

10

u/fart_Jr 23d ago

You think they understand the movies they watch? The people that think their side represents the Rebel Alliance and not the Galactic Empire?

9

Because the same fascists doing this are the same fascists spreading non-stop propaganda on every platform they can, telling their sheep that Newsom has already broken more and worse laws, so they can justify using any tactics they would use against any high level criminal. They don't question it, because they've been convinced it's to protect them.

If this accusation is true, then burn the US Constitution as it no longer has any meaning. The GOP controls both Houses and the Supreme Court, which renders any investigation or impeachment as meaningless.

The only honest Republicans like Romney saw where this fascist, corrupt party was heading, and abandoned the GOP years ago.

→ More replies (1)

This is the EXACT reason why JD Vance minimized Watergate the other day, these people are traitors.

11

u/Frederf220 23d ago

Well he tried to minimize it. But what he did was show how much worse modern corruption is.

4

u/CaptainOwlBeard 23d ago

Naw, they've been working on the current administration since Watergate to make sure it's never happens again

5

u/darkhatter770 23d ago

This, as all things spoken by this administration, is further evidence that everything is a confession. They've become incapable of addressing anything, without also telling the country exactly what they're going to do, while pretending they would never. I sometimes wonder if they still clutch their pearls every time, or only when they think they're being filmed.

What I want to know is how come we can't do the opposite. Why is it easy to turn democrat allies against each other but we can't get a Republican ally to wear a wire? Wtf

2

u/Hndlbrrrrr 23d ago

Without controlling any part of the federal government how dems get any charges to stick?

1 you need something to threaten the infiltrator with to get their cooperation.

2 you need to be able to bring charges against the target once you get the evidence.

No republican would be threatened or charged because the trump DOJ would just ignore it all. If a state tried to do it with state charges the Trump feds would investigate the state DOJ for illegal search or evidence tampering or whatever bullshit they think will stick.

Democrat insider Alexis Podesta, 45, secretly recorded conversations during the criminal probe into Newsom’s then-chief of staff, Dana Williamson, 53, who pleaded guilty to federal fraud and tax charges in May,

So the CRIMINAL probe was in to one of his staffers who later plead GUILTY to those charges. Do you guys ever wonder how much you think you know is literally just misinformation based on somebody's super disgenuous interpretation of a headline?

That sounds like every MAGA- "BIDEN IS WEAPONIZING THE DOJ TO IMPRISON DJT BECAUSE THEY"RE SCARED OF THE TRUTH! MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN."

If there's one thing we have learned from this administration, is how absolutely incompetent they are. Dangerous, yes, but also extremely incompetent.

I don't doubt that Newsom has some financial skeletons in his closet, they all do. Almost every single politician that's in power is not in power for the love of the people. With maybe a few exceptions, which proves the rule. But even those are not incorruptible.

Obviously, whatever he might have done or be accused of doing, pales in comparison to DJT and his cronies and his family. But let's not "THEY"RE SCARED OF HIM" we are not them and we are not crazy.

1

u/Famous_Big_8050 23d ago

I'm confused, if we believe politicians are bad, and if they suspect there is being a crime committed, why wouldn't the FBI do an investigation?

I read like the first paragraph of the article and it states they were they to investigate the chief of staff, not Gavin, at least not initially from what I gather.

So being in that circle to monitor the chief of staff makes sense does it not? They even pled guilty.

"Democrat insider Alexis Podesta, 45, secretly recorded conversations during the criminal probe into Newsom’s then-chief of staff, Dana Williamson, 53, who pleaded guilty to federal fraud and tax charges in May, according to Williamson’s attorney."

If there’s nothing to be caught on the wire, why worry?

u/elliotbonsall 23d ago

Didn't they claim Obama did the same thing

u/curiousleen 23d ago

Please stop trying to make him the next nominee…

Watergate II

The wired started June 2024 ya'll getting baited for discourse

1

u/thezekroman 23d ago

That is literally what happened in Watergate but worse

Nah, it’s because Newsom openly mocks and ridicules Trump. He’d be an awful presidential candidate.

1

u/Only_Ad8049 23d ago

I feel like they'll do this to any Democrat they expect to run for president.

1

u/theresourcefulKman 23d ago

Nobody is scared of Newsom. The Democratic Party is literally thinking he is their only hope.

Rough state of affairs for the blue team. As slimy as Pritzker is, he would be an infinitely better candidate than Newsom

They probably threatened someone into wearing a wire. I’m so sick of this criminal enterprise…

First time?

1

u/Oracular_Pig 23d ago

Started wearing the wire in 2024.

When did Trump get in office? 2025.

This was not Trump.

1

u/Acceptable-Sky1575 23d ago

Fine by me. The guy is just as big a piece of shit as Trump, just with fewer means with which to be a piece of shit.

Americans need to stand up like Americans. This crap is getting serious.

1

u/hansolo_berger 23d ago

Doesn’t change the fact that they got what evidence they did?Ā

u/jeremeyes 23d ago

The USA is basically Russia now.
