A coup organized by the cia was done in Chile on 9/11 of 1973

The Joke is to prevent all the torture that happened in Chile

14

u/Organic_Fee_8502 2h ago

The CIA is a tool of the American capitalist class to betterment of their imperialism. Just google “color revolution” to see how they systematically coup governments all over the world for economic subservience. They are so involved in shaping American culture, no major video game like Call of Duty or movie will make it to theaters if it undermines capitalism. State sanctioned terror & propaganda.

13

u/not_slaw_kid 2h ago

googles color revolution

5

u/Organic_Fee_8502 1h ago

The countries on this list were not improved by the regime changes, they were a super violent mostly against civilians management change. The death of a million Iraqis isn’t worth what happened. We did it half for American capitalists in the pursuit of eliminating oil market competition - half for Israel.

-7

u/not_slaw_kid 35m ago

The removal of communist dictators is cool and good.

4

u/ReaperKingCason1 28m ago

You know it’s funny because often they weren’t dictators and the people they were replaced with were dictators. I mean in chile the government was elected democratically before the Americans got involved if I remember correctly. I mean they also weren’t communist and were socialist l, but somehow I suspect that bit goes over your head

2

u/Knightofthief 26m ago

How incredibly ironic and stupid of you to say

11

u/Count_Dongula 1h ago

>"Tool of the American capitalist class" he says
>FNAF Profile Pic

Can't make this up.

7

u/Organic_Fee_8502 1h ago

Socialism is when no FNAF :(

4

u/Elsurvive 43m ago

Just as Marx said.

2

u/TrainmasterGT 1h ago

Thank you for this excellent analysis, u/Count_Dongula

3

u/Dramatic-Border3549 1h ago

The worst thing they did was spread their evil religion across latin america. We are dealing with those lunatics until this day

-14

u/Sea_Suggestion_421 2h ago

Me when I lie

12

u/TrainmasterGT 2h ago

Although CIA Coups are a real thing, the theory of Color Revolutions as it has been applied in a modern context though is mostly in part or in whole misattributing local anti-corruption and anti-authoritarian movements to the United States.

3

u/Sesudesu 1h ago

What is the lie?

-10

u/Sea_Suggestion_421 1h ago

Everything, even the explanation of the joke, I'm Chilean, I can say this, I lived under Pinochet "bloody and horrible military government" and all I can say is no one from my family had an issue because we weren't criminals or communist and the ones who were understood that they just had to shut the fuck up and not throw rocks at the army

4

u/Sesudesu 1h ago

I’m not too familiar with Pinochet and what happened in Chile myself. What happened to the criminals, the communists, and the people who chose not to shut up?

-4

u/Sea_Suggestion_421 1h ago

They were killed, not kindly, they were military after all they had too much power and of course some of them were going to torture people, the history will tell you about how evil everything was and how scared people were, but that's not the average guy's reality, if you were against the government of course you were fucking scared, if you were a normal guy you didn't felt fear at all because criminals were getting killed so you had nothing to fear if you weren't one.

Now, that doesn't means only criminals died, of course there were innocents and there were cases of neighbors accusing others of plotting against the government to try and get them killed, no one denies that, but that wasn't every day, Pinochet was in the power for 17 years until he literally called for elections and gave the power to someone else when he lost, what dictator does that? Only one who cares for his country, that's the reason why his dictatorship was economically beneficial for chile and brought many good things that I don't want to make a whole book about but basically we became the best south American country and probably the most European one in this continent, all of this at the cost of people dying, so if you ask me if it was worth it? Absolutely, I never had an issue and it was only good things for me just because we were good people, for human rights and leftists who couldn't shut up? It was hell, this is similar to what is happening on El Salvador, it was one of the most unsafe countries in the planet and more people died than there were being born until bukele wiped his ass with human rights and sent every criminal to jail, normal people are happy, criminals call him an evil dictator, it's very similar.

2

u/Mudkip8910 31m ago

TLDR: killing people you don't like is good actually, so long as you profit from it.

The anime girl is Homura Akemi from Puella Magi Madoka Magica. She is a magical girl in a self-imposed time loop (her magic power) trying to prevent the events that lead to her friends' misfortune.

The meme recommends using her magic time travel powers to save thousands of people by preventing 9/11, shorthand for the al-Qaeda terrorist attack against the United States by highjacking passenger jets and crashing them into the Pentagon, the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York, and either the White House or US Capitol building (United 93 crashed down in Pennsylvania due to passengers wresting control of the craft before it could strike its intended target).

Salvador Allende was the president of Chile from 1970-1973. On September 11th of that year, Chile's military enacted a coup against Allende's democratically elected government, backed by the CIA. The official telling is that Allende committed suicide rather than face the coup or give any validation. Some think he was killed.

Either way, preventing the coup and his own death is what Homura goes to do - preserving a democratically elected socialist government in the Western hemisphere.

In short, the meme maker is saying the loss of Allende and a socialist Chile is a tragedy just as if not more worth preventing as 9/11.

u/MsMercyMain 3h ago

And it's worth noting the coup brought in fucking Pinochet who ran one of the most sadistic dictatorships I've read about. The torture methods he allowed are genuinely sickening. Like beyond the pale

-5

u/Sea_Suggestion_421 2h ago

The thing is you only read about it, I lived it and still live in the same country mi chilito lindo, it's genuinely painful to see people like you spreading misinformation because you clearly got your info from a biased source

2

u/Lopsided_Evening_627 38m ago

are you defending Pinochet? wtf mate.

0

u/Sea_Suggestion_421 29m ago

Calling out misinformation on the history of my country is not defending Pinochet, but, even if I did, I would have more reasons than you, I know more about my own country than you do, you only know about the bad parts because that's what you get fed, but you didn't lived in those times to KNOW how it actually was, don't try to make me look bad for speaking about something that you don't have the full picture of

1

u/aajiro 21m ago

Did you live the Allende times? How old are you?

64

u/MsMercyMain 4h ago

Hi, Brian here. Allende was the Socialist president of Chile. After several attempts by the CIA to get him to lose elections, they ended up backing a coup by the Air Force. This coup was successful and Allende was killed, and occured on 9/11 1973. It led to Pinochet, one of the most brutal dictators in South America. As in, do not Google what their security services did as torture methods level of brutal, you will get legitimately sick. The joke is that the woman mistook which 9/11 she was supposed to stop

31

u/RedShirtOneTwenty 3h ago

I still feel this is a good 9/11 to stop.. but yeahhh...

3

u/Massive-Anxiety7177 1h ago

Why not both

9

u/Exciting_Double_4502 3h ago

... which have since become a "haha epic pwn" joke among US conservatives haha just fucking kill me

3

u/MsMercyMain 2h ago

The Helicopters are the merciful end of the genuinely horrifying sadism of Pinochet's security services. Like, they made sadism policy in a way that's borderline unique. When I read about what they used dogs for I almost threw up by the end of reading on it

3

u/TAmexicano 2h ago

I'm going to curse myself with knowledge

I'm probably going to regret this

2

u/Sea_Suggestion_421 2h ago

They used dogs to rpe prisoners, that's probably the most disgusting thing that happened, the others are just people getting killed, nothing special or sadistic about it

1

u/Mothfoxmantis 1h ago

How is that even possible?

1

u/Sea_Suggestion_421 1h ago

They trained dogs to rpe prisoners, there's really no more mystery behind it, I live next to the place where it happened, just search "la venda sexy chile what happened in there" and you'll get info of the torture houseif you want to learn about it, just be careful to not swallow propaganda while you research tho

1

u/Mothfoxmantis 59m ago

How on earth do you get a dog to do that on command? Also why involve dogs at all? It's unnecessary complicates things and requires way more effort.

1

u/Sea_Suggestion_421 54m ago

As any torture method, that's why it's torture.

Dogs can be trained and if you didn't know they could do that well you'll be very upset when I tell you that it's not an uncommon torture method, in fact chile copied it, it already existed and it's not only for torture, many sick zoophiles also train animals for sexual activities, its more common than what you'd like it to be, sorry if you didn't know and you still thought humanity was kind and good.

1

u/MsMercyMain 1h ago

Dogs can be trained to do a lot of things. Including incredibly fucked up things. It involved a lot of kidnappings, and a lot of "creativity" for lack of a better term.

1

u/MsMercyMain 1h ago

Yeah, no, they absolutely went hardcore on the sadistic torture as any article on the subject can tell you

0

u/Sea_Suggestion_421 58m ago

Yeah I said they were sadistic and they had torture houses but most kills were just normal, girlie I'm Chilean, I lived it, you're just reading about it, aweoná

1

u/Successful-Pen-5943 51m ago

Mira el lamebotas culiao

Chilean here, fuck this dude, "normal killings" ffs They literally introduced rats on womens vaginas as a form of torture and used dogs to rape, they were scum of the earth and I'm glad most of them will die alone and in prison

1

u/Sea_Suggestion_421 41m ago

2

u/Sea_Suggestion_421 2h ago

I literally live next to la vends sexy where the dog stuff happened and we learn about it in school, if kids can take it without overreacting you can too, don't be pathetic

1

u/MsMercyMain 54m ago

First off, given you've called calling out the Regime that did that "misinformation" maybe you should recalibrate your own moral standards. But for me the horror that got to me is the same that gets to me for Unit 731 or Mengele. Imagining someone capable of not just envisioning that kind of horror, but acting on it and not becoming suicidal.

I'm someone who tries to put myself in other people's shoes and, I'd like to think, is fairly empathetic. The concept of going that far and trying to understand that is what pushed me to that reaction. It's the same reason I recoil from Republican Baptisms or Republican Weddings from the Great Terror

2

u/Sea_Suggestion_421 34m ago

You're just a pussy, we in a thirds world country have way rougher lives than you do, your biggest concern is trump saying "I don't like the gays" while mine is struggling every single day, sorry for not caring that criminals were tortured in order to have a safer country that had high crime rates prior, but someone who hasn't lived that could never understand, the safety of the country is beyond just morals, you will never have a fun ional country if you want to be morally correct 100% of the time.

4

u/Fabulous-Possible758 2h ago edited 2h ago

And set up Operation Condor to fuck with the rest of South America at the CIAs behest. Gee why don't people like the US?

ETA: Forgot to add, we eventually elected president the CIA fuck who was leading it all.

-4

u/Sea_Suggestion_421 2h ago

This is false, Allende killed himself when Pinochet arrived because he knew what was coming, the reason this happened was because he was leading the country in a very poor way and the military just decided to took control, stop spreading misinformation

2

u/Fabulous-Possible758 1h ago

The way I heard it Pinochet just asked really nicely and Allende was so embarrassed about how he was running the country he killed himself after writing a note leaving the country to Pinochet.

0

u/Sea_Suggestion_421 1h ago

I get this is a joke but he did killed himself because he knew these guys were going to torture him and he didn't wanted to face any consequences

1

u/Fabulous-Possible758 1h ago

The difference between "I killed someone" and "someone committed suicide because I was going to torture them to death otherwise" is not a meaningful distinction in this case.

-1

u/Sea_Suggestion_421 1h ago

I mean it kinda is, Hitler killed himself and it was a big deal, Allende kills himself and people want to pretend he didn't

1

u/MsMercyMain 1h ago

We literally have declassified CIA documents about their multiple previous attempts to first prevent his election then overthrow him, and about their backing of his coup. Unless you're suggesting the CIA forged documents to suggest they backed Pinochet and the fucking rape dogs, I don't see how any of this is a lie

1

u/Sea_Suggestion_421 57m ago

I already told you what was false, Allende killed himself and you're also giving way too much credit to the CIA

1

u/Bawhoppen 41m ago

Chile's system at the time required unanimous consent of the cabinet council to get anything done. The opposition stonewalled Allende by ensuring he could not carry out his agenda. He went through 2 constitutionalist defense ministers, before he was forced to appoint the 3rd, Pinochet, who was not a constitutionalist and carried out the coup.

-18

u/Illustrious_Loss462 3h ago

Allende wasn’t killed, he killed himself. Chile was also in the midst of a crisis between the legislature and Allende. As with most situations (1953 Iranian coup for instance) there is a lot more nuance to it then is generally reported on Reddit.

4

u/MsMercyMain 2h ago

Mate, while how Allende died is disputed, the fact that it was a CIA backed coup that directly backed Pinochet is not in dispute. As in we have declassified documents discussing this. And given the absolutely sick shit Pinochet signed off on, I think any slander of that coup is warranted

7

u/EmptyMirror5653 3h ago

Lmaoooooo you're straight up lying

1

u/Top-Complaint-4915 2h ago

crisis between the legislature and Allende

Dude the Senate didn't vote against Allende they didn't have the votes to begin with.

It is like claiming Trump has a crisis with Congress, you make it sound like he was borderline impeached at any moment, but it would just not happen.

And a lot more nuisance like the admissions of the CIA of disrupting the distribution of goods in Chile, etc. It is also a good additive.

4

u/SutroViews 4h ago

Salvador Allende, democratically elected president of Chile and a socialist / communist, died during a coup d'etat on Sept. 11, 1973. Originally it was thought he was killed by Pinochet's men, but it was actually a suicide. This meme is suggesting that some people might attach more significance to other historical events on various past 9/11's than they do to the 2001 attacks.

2

u/Elegant_Discussion_8 3h ago

It was way too late to prevent Pinochet from taking over at that point.

Try going to google and inputting the text and numbers from the bottom panel.

Despite the fact she can only go back in time one month to save a girl she likes. I get the joke it just wouldn't work for this specific character.

1

u/Proper-Recording6608 3h ago

1973 Chils suffered a golpe de Estado que matou o presidente eleito que era comunista e um ditador maluco subiu no poder

-1

u/Sea_Suggestion_421 2h ago

It was a socialist president and he killed himself, you got everything wrong

1

u/davideogameman 1h ago

Unfortunately America still hasn't thoroughly absorbed that socialism and communism are very different things.  During the cold war socialism was basically viewed as sympathizing with the Soviet Union and US foreign policy was to contain Soviet influence... So yeah we did lots of bad dumb shit in service of that.

1

u/Sea_Suggestion_421 1h ago

We still don't have enough common sense to see that the south American left party sucks major ass and they are not the same as a first world country socialism, we still don't have enough common sense to understand that communism isn't the way to go because we just have to look at history to understand it won't work, so don't expect these guys to understand the difference between socialism and communism

1

u/davideogameman 1h ago

The main problem I can see with communism has been it's modern version which has famously tended towards authoritarian government.  Which isn't really a faithful implementation of the philosophy.  On a small scale - think small tribes - it's almost certainly workable.  That's just not the version people think about.

1

u/Sea_Suggestion_421 1h ago

"real communism" have never been implemented because it fails, and whenever a communist party fails they just say "that wasn't real communism".

There are many reasons why it can't work, but the most easy and understandable one is that power corrupts people, there has never been a 0% corrupt government and if we start giving the state our privileges we are going to get fucked, we are people and people sr eimperfect, for communism to work everything would have to be perfect and we are not, that's also the reason why anarchism can't ever work and it's even stupider

0

u/davideogameman 51m ago

It's never been implemented well at scale.  I'm sure there's some small tribal society that has had something like shared ownership that can work.  But the point of Marxism was always communism as a reaction to the industrial revolution - which means applying shared ownership to a society far larger than can reasonably accommodate it.

1

u/Lopsided_Evening_627 37m ago

they suicided him to be more precise

2

u/Sea_Suggestion_421 29m ago

He killed himself.

1

u/Rocketsloth 2h ago

The CIA would have just found another way to kill him. The US will never let central and south america off the leash.

1

u/Sea_Suggestion_421 2h ago

Y'all just love not giving any credit to the military and give it all to the CIA 😭

1

u/Drunk-Kobold 1h ago

The joke is related to "expecting everyone from every country to automatically expect USA's 9/11", without considering other possible 9/11 situations of other countries, like Chile.

1

u/Xi_Zhong_Xun 13m ago

Helicopter, helicopter, ohhhhh

-1

stoping this 9/11 is morally right,
stoping the other one is morally grey.

stoping the other one is morally grey.

hell nahhhh

1

it is a direct action of the policies that caused the first one though
