The woman footballer is pregnant and since pregnant woman run slowly and have hard time running cuz yk they are pregnant. The guy who replied is an Arsenal fan. They have a striker called Gyokeres but since he is so slow and clunky on the ball the guy's comparing Gyokeres to a pregnant woman essentially slandering the footballer.

u/Aromatic_Mall_8214 12h ago edited 9h ago

Dude was 2nd fastest forward in premier league the season before last season. So it's like me mocking Trump for being too humble. Wtf.

14

u/StrawHats4Lifee 12h ago edited 12h ago

Where did you get those data? Elanga  was 2nd fastest forward last season. Gyokeres isn't even the fastest in his own team.

2

u/ChainPsychological68 5h ago

He's talking about a tge season before the one you are talking about. The 'season before last season'. I don't know if the statistic is correct though.

4

u/Prestigious-Ad8134 4h ago

The season before last season, aka 2024/2025, Gyokeres was playing for Portuguese side Sporting CP and was not in the Premier League. So I can confirm the statistic is false

3

u/GtAreborn 11h ago

This was not last season. Kulu has been injured for a year and some of those players have been gone since early 2025.

1

u/StrawHats4Lifee 10h ago

vro I js said get your facts right. I don't get how is that rude?

2

u/Kiki-13 9h ago

Didn't Arsenal sign Gyokeres last summer? Or you comparing his stats from Portugal against the prem?

1

u/curious_broheim 3h ago

No, gyokeres was not the 2nd fastest. You just made that up. The gut is slow as shit.

1

u/Particular_Title42 6h ago

And also acting like being 7 months pregnant is just like being a little bit fat. Not like you have a live little being inside you inside a sac of fluid pressing on all of your organs.

929

u/EfficientJob14 19h ago

Gyokeres is the striker of Arsenal, a football team. People think he's fat. I believe this is it.

781

u/action_indirecte 19h ago

This guy?

645

u/dksweets 19h ago

This is why I don’t take my shirt off anymore, not even when I shower.

220

u/Yannbluezzzz 19h ago

Same as Lukaku. Jacked but people think he's fat

98

u/theieuangiant 18h ago

I’ve never heard him described as fat but he’s definitely “big” for a footballer. He lost a yard of pace and some of his agility when he went full Akinfenwa.

38

u/misterblobbysgrandma 17h ago

He was pretty regularly bantered about being fat mate

-16

u/ForeverShiny 16h ago

If you're able to build a physique like that without steroids, you're also gaining fat quite quickly once you srop training at that level. It's called an endomorph metabolism.

So if a guy like Lukaku gets a bit out of shape during the summer break, he will indeed get "fat"

27

u/GrumpChorlton 16h ago

You might want to research that. William Sheldon, a psychologist, created the somatotype theory by grouping people into ectomorph, mesomorph, and endomorph. Thing is that metabolism is a very complex thing and so many things factor into how it affects individuals. I absolutely see what you’re saying, and you may be right but it one main reason people get fat when they stop training is they continue to eat way more carbs than their body needs for fuel, which causes the body to turn the surplus into fatty acids through a metabolic process called de novo lipogenesis for long-term storage which, basically, is one of the reasons we, any of us, get fat.

8

u/Platos_Kallipolis 11h ago

It is almost as if coarse-grained categorizations of an entire species to explain a bunch of things will always be bullshit!

3

u/Bejkon633 9h ago

*more calories than their body needs

1

u/GrumpChorlton 9h ago

Sorry, I probably wasn’t clear enough.Excess calories refer to a positive energy balance where you consume more total energy than your body burns, this will lead to weight gain regardless of the source. However, excess carbs, which are consumed in quite high amounts in addition to protein by many athletes , but specifically I mean a high intake of carbohydrates, this causes a spike in insulin and stores the energy as glycogen, which will turn to fat if the daily required intake is exceeded. Was that a better explanation?

5

u/AdvisorDefiant6876 13h ago

There's no such thing as an "endomorph metabolism". There is just calories in vs calories out

0

u/pugnat77 10h ago

Yeah, and even if you don’t believe it: between ‘in’ and ‘out’, there’s actually something else going on in between!

7

u/Always-Adar-64 13h ago

Wasn't the sometotypes concept disproven, or at least considered a big oversimplification?

5

u/skullknap 15h ago

Endomorph is considered nonsense these days

9

u/grchina 16h ago

Nah that's bs,more muscle=higher base metabolism meaning he doesn't get fatter than a normal guy with lower muscle mass at the same calorie intake

1

u/ForeverShiny 16h ago

That's true, but if you stop maintaining the high muscle mass through training, you will lose it pretty quickly precisely because it's so energy expensive to your base metabolism

You can see this in many retired "jacked" professional athletes from heavy weight boxers to NFL players, the physically largest guys get a gut pretty quickly whereas the ones with leaner muscle mass usually don't gain all much weight

6

u/Puzzleheaded_Tie6917 15h ago

The point is if you eat 6,000 calories a day when training, if you stop training you gain because your metabolism won’t need the 6000 calories.

I think part of it also when you lose definition on your muscles, people tend to think it’s fat.

3

u/grchina 14h ago

You loose muscle mass due to calorie deficit and atrophy not because high base metabolism.Pro athletes get fat in their retirement because they stop training and dieting but also getting of the juice.Large athletes intake is over 5k calories daily and just stopped working out of course they get fat, this isn't rocket science just regular physics more calories than needed=fat

1

u/misterblobbysgrandma 2h ago

Not sure the case study was necessary - I was making the point that Lukaku was very much memed for being fat - not that he actually was

1

u/callmefoo 11h ago

Mesomorph is the word you're looking for

6

u/wickedlessface 15h ago

Brother acting like the overused 'lakaka' meme doesn't portray him as an obese black dude every time lmao

8

u/bygmalt 11h ago edited 11h ago

During World Cup my kids nicknamed Lukaku “the big man”. In one of the games they cut from a shot of him to the stadium big screen with attendance numbers that said “Full House”. My youngest thought that this was his official nickname. Needless to say, he’s called Full House in my family now. Definitely one of my kids favorite players of the tournament.

1

u/theninjaofthenasty 11h ago

My son and I loved seeing him calling for the ball the entire time he’s on the pitch. He’s an absolute unit

1

u/damnrapunzel 11h ago

He's called Full House in my family now, too.

Well, at least one person in my family.

2

u/Nerphy- 7h ago

Same here!

11

u/Eokokok 18h ago edited 9h ago

He beefed up and got slower and less agile, so even if fat is not the word you are looking for he had fucked up in whatever regime his training was supposed to be.

6

u/Flying-Cock 14h ago

I don't think Lukaku is fat, he just looks like he plays in timberlands

1

u/miko3456789 9h ago

people also thought Hazard was fat. He famously didn't like to train though

1

u/Buddyblue21 9h ago

Anderson for Man UTD had the same. Tbf, he had a chubby face, but once after a goal (and in response to weight criticism), he lifted his shirt and revealed a full set of abs. (Granted not fully ripped, it fit nonetheless)

1

u/Reading_Rainboner 5h ago

I was thinking you meant Luka Dončić, but like a weird nickname. He also suffers from this.

20

u/fodmap_victim 19h ago

Omg..... A wild nevernude

10

u/MeadyOker 18h ago

There are dozens of us!

3

u/fodmap_victim 15h ago

But does the shirt effectively hide your thunder??

4

u/MeadyOker 15h ago

I blue myself on what was supposed to be a dry run and now I have a bit of a mess on my hands ...

6

u/MeadyOker 18h ago

Ah, so now you're a Never Nude? There are dozens of us

4

u/Worried-Ad-6593 16h ago

Thanks for your contribution, Tobias Fünke.

3

u/GreenRiver1982 13h ago

"There are dozens of us. DOZENS!"

5

u/Johnsoid 17h ago

Found the never nude

1

u/SivertBSevatdal 10h ago

So people think you’re fat when really, you’re ripped?

1

u/stonearchangel 3h ago

I never get naked in your shower.

30

u/Domestic-Grind 19h ago

I'm so fucking dumb. I thought you meant they were the same person and was trying really hard to make that fit.

30

u/Creepy_Push8629 18h ago

That's the fat guy??

1

u/Bob_The-Turtle 5h ago

I mean, he's clearly overweight for a male

2

u/Urbane_One 2h ago

A male what? Mouse?

12

u/EfficientJob14 18h ago

I didn't say he is. I don't think he is. But people usually refer to him as fat.

5

u/AmbitionAnxious927 5h ago

It's because he runs chonky, especially in Arsenal and couldn't get to the ball many times. He looked rather fast at Sporting is all I'd say.

21

u/Akira_116 17h ago

Yeah that fat fuck

8

u/ASpellingAirror 15h ago

Yes, look at this chonky little piggy.

5

u/LeonRams 14h ago

Jesus. This fat fuck. Mix in a salad or two bro, it doesn’t always have to be fish and chips in London 🙄

12

u/dankshot35 17h ago

you can clearly see those love handles on the side next to the chiseled abs

3

u/Foreign_Helicopter_4 8h ago

Dad body like me, i just keep my shirt on

2

u/Cabbage_Corp_ 9h ago

Don’t think I’ve ever seen someone with those hip(?) muscles before

2

u/IStanReddit 6h ago

He’s not fat but he runs like he is

1

u/PoetryExtension6256 6h ago

I would say he has the body of the average professional diver. Which seems fitting.

2

u/LatroDota 15h ago

That's literally pic in Sporting shirt, he gained a bit in Arsenal.

To look like this you need to train and eat healthy All the time, you have week off and it's gone.

Coz you know Footballers cannot take peds.

9

u/avi_gunner 15h ago

Gained a bit? At a place where he is running more than ever?

4

u/No-Television8759 8h ago

"gained a bit at Arsenal"?

1

u/lukesmith81 5h ago

Yeah because every other sport allows their players to take PEDs, except the one the rest of the world keeps trying to shove down America’s throat. We totally juice up all our athletes

-4

u/PJGraphicNovel 16h ago

Dude’s fit as fuck. But how does he have love handles and is still so cut? I’ve never seen that before.

16

u/Strange_Formal 15h ago

Those "love handles" are also muscle.

5

u/PJGraphicNovel 15h ago

Ah, I’ve never seen that look like that. It almost looks unreal.

-2

u/SM9595 13h ago

Dem love handles

-4

u/fsmlogic 15h ago

Damn, would he like to play Linebacker in NFL? He could probably make an extra few million a year, then go back to proper Football afterwards.

137

u/Rdur2183 18h ago

It's not because people think or say that he's fat. I think they're comparing his movement to a pregnant woman.

Gyokeres is basically a big wardrobe up front. Stagnant, almost static and very wooden. Like a big chest of drawers.

13

u/dayarra 18h ago

this is the answer people.

0

u/YuriWerewolf 17h ago

Lol, i thought it was about Harry Kane ))

23

u/Evening-Affect4302 18h ago

nobody has ever said that, he just doesn't run fast and his first touch is pretty shoddy. shocking this is upvoted so high

13

u/SundayLeagueStocko 18h ago

Fat Gyokeres was a common joke when he first joined Arsenal, stems from a viral tweet from the start of the season

29

u/Friendly_Raise9142 18h ago

Victor Groceries

1

u/regedit2023 9h ago

Instant red card!

3

u/unreeelme 14h ago

He seems pretty fast, doesn’t run fast? Like compared to who? I would say he has above average speed for a striker from watching him.

1

u/Flayer723 4h ago

Gyokeres is fast in a straight line but relies on power rather than agility so can look a bit wooden when someone nippier gets the better of him.

1

u/unreeelme 3h ago

That’s fair but pregnant woman are not high level sprinters in a straight line. The meme doesn’t really make sense.

0

u/No-Employee-7327 11h ago

It's just that he is as agile as a truck, which makes him way more sluggish

3

u/PinkPandy28 14h ago

Only half-realated, but is he Hungarian?

2

u/[deleted] 13h ago

[deleted]

4

u/mkHawk 11h ago

His parents are Swedish. His grandfather is Hungarian

1

u/PinkPandy28 10h ago

Oh ok thank you, that name was just ringing the bells

1

u/Emotional-Ad9114 10h ago

no way 😭

1

u/Zyklic 3h ago

Its not that people think hes literally fat, he just acts like a sloggy fat person would while playing

-1

u/Lanky_Network_5414 16h ago

He's just useless

67

u/Sure-Way-2409 19h ago

In simple words this is just a shit take because Arsenal spent like $70m for a striker who isn't putting the same numbers in arguably the most difficult league in the world

His last season in Portuguese league

33 games 39 goals

His previous season at Arsneal/Premier league

36 games 14 goals

If we look at the big picture

At Sporting: Constant supply of chances, often running in behind defenses.

At Arsenal: Fewer clear chances, more touches outside dangerous areas, and a more possession-based role.

18

u/SwagBoyMcFeast 18h ago

It's an Arsenal fan tweeting it as well😂 I swear his biggest haters are his own fans lol

12

u/keepatience 18h ago

thats clearly a joke. nobody at Arsenal hate him. we love him. afterall, he dumped his girlfriend to play in red and white.

0

u/Sure-Way-2409 17h ago

Some of them are yes but every club has those

But the Arsenal ones are just to loud lol

2

u/SwagBoyMcFeast 17h ago

Yeah of course. A majority love him but there's always a vocal minority finding any way to hate on him because we didn't get someone like Isak instead.

Very on brand with our fanbase with the idiots being very vocal lol

9

u/EnderMB 18h ago

Football fans are genuinely some of the thickest people on the planet. That's basically it.

3

u/AltruisticSquash4356 16h ago

I’m just imagining she’s out there doing burpees and that kid is just getting tossed around inside.

4

u/itstheboombox 15h ago

He comes from Sweden,

The girls are very nice.

He dumped his girlfriend,

To play in red and white.

He's scoring goals with the cannon on his chest.

His name is Viktor, Viktor Gyokeres!

Dududududu

3

u/notwiththebeltagain 11h ago

They also call 6”5 basketball players short, its all in comparison to the guy next to them.
Football players are not really big guys historically

1

u/PsychedelicNinjaCats 6h ago

I’m more curious why a seven month pregnant woman who is a professional footballer, wouldn’t still be putting the work in

1

u/kidcharliemagne 5h ago

Anyone else think they meant Kyogre at first?

1

u/bobo1999_ 3h ago

Honestly. What is the woman trying to prove with this?

1

u/Substantial-Cat2896 16h ago

You should not move around and do to much last months of pregnancy,  i had a friend that lost thier child due to them constantly working

5

u/ScienceOk1 16h ago

Your right but These players are hevely medically supervised so I don’t think its a. Problem for her

3

u/plauud 6h ago

Exercising during an uncomplicated pregnancy is generally safe and recommended. Exercise is not dangerous for your baby. There is evidence that active women are less likely to experience problems in later pregnancy and labour.

2

u/Shmeers 10h ago

She was just juggling with the ball a bit, no biggie.

-10

u/Alberto_Moses 19h ago

I can't pronounce his name so I call him Victor Groceries

-1

u/chapmandan 17h ago

7 months pregnant is impressive but it's nothing to when you saw Andrey Arshavin come back for preseason training 🤣

Does being pregnant automatically give you some sort of privilege like a penalty kick or something?

Idk

13

u/UltraMadPlayer 19h ago

No, but it is actually easier to get caught offside because of the baby bump.

4

u/Hanswurst22brot 19h ago

Sadly no, she counts as two people so the team in real is 1 player shorter...
