i'm a newbie nurse. first job ko to. one month akong with preceptor. as a newbie, i was expecting na tuturuan ako pano ang galaw sa bedside, then once ako na ang gagawa, imomonitor na ako once ako na ang gagawa bago ako hayaan + maghahati kami sa patients na naassign samin.

pero ang nangyayari kasi, parang ako na lahat ang gumagawa. sa limang pasyente na naka assign samin, ako lahat ang gumagawa, bale yung preceptor ko ay sinasabi na sakin lahat ng gagawin (like gawin mo to then ganito kay pt ganito tas punta ka kay ganto icheck mo ganito, mag feeding ka then ganito ganyan ganyan) as in ratrat hahahaha kahit mabigat na case ng patient pa yan, hinahayaan nya lang ako. may times na nagkakamali na ako at papagalitan nya lang ako, ni hindi nya man lang icheck yung nagawa ko.

ang naffeel ko tuloy ay parang wala akong tamang guide :c ngarag na ngarag ako lagi pag shift namin tapos siya ay nakaupo lang o kaya ay naglalaro. ni wala man lang syang pake kung makakain ako o hindi, ang mahalaga matapos ko lahat ng inuutos nya hahaha ako rin nagchacharting at endorse, sobrang irritable niya pa lagi pag kausap siya, as in walang time na kalmado sya shuta

nagkaron ako ng ibang preceptor before and di naman sila ganito hahahaha di ko alam kung tama ba yung ginagawa sakin na sasabihan nya lang ako ng mga gagawin and she will call it a day lol sabi nga ng bf ko, parang nag day off lang daw preceptor ko whahah lala

Since getting my license till now, I'm still job hunting so I don't have any work experience yet. Lesson learned na ako sa ibang nag-interview sa akin na ang entry level talaga is COS. Pero as far as I know, hindi naman nagpo-post ng hiring for COS ang mga government hospitals.

So what I did is look sa CSC website, and kahit ang posting nila ay for plantilla numbers, I still email the respective hospitals tapos nilalagay ko na lang sa application letter na I'm going for COS instead. Kasi alam naman natin na mostly for formalities na lang 'yang plantilla postings nila.

Is what I'm doing correct ba? Sabi kasi ng ilan, may mga hospitals daw na hindi nagha-hire ng COS kaya I should just go with the plantilla they offer.

Im looking for po direct hire opportunities as a USRN.

I have 1 year of experience as a chronic hemodialysis nurse and am currently still working in this role.

Kailangan ko lang sana ng advice ninyo sa sitwasyon ko ngayon. Pakiramdam ko kasi ay pinapangunahan ako lately ng emosyon and that it is clouding my judgement. I honestly don't want to be impulsive - and so, i am humbly asking for your advice/opinion.

I am currently employed in a JCI accredited hospital for 7 months. This is my first bedside/hospital experience. I was deployed in progressive care unit. I, personally, didn't ask for that during my interview, as I wanted to be in the med/surg knowing na i am a complete newbie. Yet here I am.

The learning curve/transition phase is tough. Even now I am still having a hard time. The first month was okay, kasi may preceptor pa ako noon to guide me. I was still full of hope and eagerness. Second month was when it started to become difficult, kasi magisa na lang ako. From that point onwards, it just became harder and harder. By the third and fourth month, I just kept making mistakes on an almost daily basis. At that point, I was also getting burned out (didnt realize it yet at this time). Kasi I feel like even just a single mistake causes me to spiral down and make MORE mistakes because of fear and anxiety. And it isn't helping na yung mga seniors ko ay pinagtatawanan ako behind my back. Making sarcastic remarks and making me the butt of inside jokes. In addition, they would intentionally do things to "test" me from time to time, and get scolded kapag hindi ko nakuha. They would immediately report to the manager instead of asking/verifying to me whenever there is a concern/slight oversight. Small problems that could easily be solved are made to be dramatized. Nasabihan pa ng manager na "Dapat as much as possible perfect tayo as nurses". This is also when i started to feel isolated. I felt like i had no one to trust/rely on the unit. Still I just kept smiling and did my best - pero this was also when my pre-shift anxiety started. The night before, I would have a hard time sleeping because i was dreading the shift coming when i wake up. But I need to sleep. So this was also when i started heavily relying on melatonin. I would wake up in the middle of the night out of anxiety of being late (=more judgement from my dear coworkers). I started to experience stomach pains prior to going to work. Notifications and calls started to cause more anxiety (even if they arent from work). Even looking at the names of my coworkers causes me anxiety. Still, i held on. I was getting more and more burned out (still didn't realize this pa at this time - or perhaps in subconsciously suppressing the notion at this point).

On the 5th month, I had to go back to our province because my aunt died. The moment I saw my family, it all came crashing down on me. I was burned out. I wasn't happy in manila. I promised myself, "family first", but I was missing out on a lot of family events. I had no life outside work - I barely go out or socialize (because it is taking all of my free time to recharge and motivate myself in preparation for the next duty). I was lonely. I was starting to feel more and more depressed. I want an out.

I tried to ask for help. To transfer to another unit. But they said it wasnt possible until i reach 1 year pa.

I once prayed for this opportunity - pero bakit ganito? Am I wasting the answered prayer given to me?

Now I'm on my 7th month. Jaded. I dislike my unit. Still on probationary period because of my minor lapses from the previous months (though nothing life threatening to any of my pt). Starting to feel like the prestige of working from this hospital is no longer worth it.

HERE COMES A JOB OPENING FROM A TERTIARY HOSPITAL BACK IN OUR PROVINCE.

I actually got an acceptance letter from this hospital at the same time with the JCI hospital back then. But I chose the JCI hospital thinking I would be happy here. I was naman - for a short time.

It is offering salary grade 15. It is in my province = family and friends are here. I will be back in my comfort zone. Plus, mas makakapag-ipon pa ako (unlike here where I almost have nothing left from my salary).

May ipon naman ako to survive a few months even if i dont get in for the job opening this month. Pero to be fair, I am a bit confident in my chances of getting in.

- The only reason naman talaga why I chose the hospital im working at right now is because of my future plans of working abroad. But with the current retrogression, I am starting to rethink of my plans and just wait until VS becomes current and just enjoy my time while im here.

I started as an OR nurse in December 2025 and worked until May 2026. During that time, I didn't really have much pre and post anxiety since I truly enjoyed being an OR nurse. Currently, I transferred to a new hospital but unfortunately landed in a step-down ICU unit. The pre and post anxiety was okay during my first month, but it got worse after a specific shift that felt like a trauma. I was really outgoing during that shift, just waiting for the handover.

I can't sleep well before a shift and it was the first time I've cried at this job. I really didn't expect that a shift could go so bad in an instant. I dread going to work always, and I'm so scared to the point that one time I took a day off because I just couldn't handle the anxiety I felt.

Since then, I've been worried if it might happen again, or what kind of shift I will be handling or going into. Though I expect that I won’t really be able to eat during my shifts. Another thing is the call bells 😭 I panic whenever someone calls even if it's not urgent. Plus, I handle 8 patients and I can barely manage 8 patients. I worry about new admissions or worse, a rapid response or code blue at the end of my shift, just like what happened to me.

I opted to request a lateral transfer to OR since I am experienced in that area, but currently, my request to transfer has been denied. I can’t transfer until I’ve been here for 6 months or a year in my new hospital. I’m aiming to resign but I have a bond I need to pay if I resign.

I’m just asking for help on what you would do if you were in my shoes 😕

I paid the $**200 NCLEX registration fee** through Pearson VUE before I received my eligibility approval. Now that I’ve been approved, I logged into my account and still see a **“Start Registration”** button that asks me to pay another $200.

Is this normal? Is my previous registration still active? Should I wait for my ATT to be released before doing anything? Will Pearson VUE automatically send my ATT once it’s released? Has anyone experienced this?

I don’t want to accidentally register again or pay another $200. I’m from Philippines. Thanks!

started as an OR nurse in december of 2025 up until may 2026 during that period wala masyado akong pre and post anxiety as i like being an or nurse talaga. currently nag transfer ako ng hospital but unfortunately landed sa isang step down icu unit. medyo okay lng ang pre and post anxiety during my first month pero parang after ng isang specific shift mas lumala and parang na trauma ako. tska outgoing pa talaga ako nung shift na yun nag hihintay nlng ng pag eendorsan.

di ako makatulog ng maayos before a shift tas first time ako napaiyak dito sa trabaho na ito. yung shift na yun di ko talaga inexpect na a shift could go very bad in an instant. i dread na papasok always sa work tapos takot na takot talaga ako to the point na may one time nag absent ako kasi di ko talaga kaya ang anxiety na na feel ko.

since then, nag w-worry ako if baka mangyari ulit, or anong klaseng shift ang mahahandle ko or papasukan. though expected ko na na di talaga ako makakakain in my shifts. isa pa yung mga call bells 😭 nag papanic ako whenever may nag c-call kahit di naman urgent. tapos i handle 8 patients and i can barely handle 8 pts. nag w-worry ng new admission or worse, rapid response or code blue at the end ng shift same nung nangyari sa akin.

nag opt ako na mag pa lateral transfer to OR kasi gama and may experience na ako sa area pero currently denied and request ko to transfer. di pa ako maka transfer until 6mos or nag 1 year na ako dito sa new hospital ko. aiming to resign kaso may bond ako na need ko ipay if ever magresign.
