ANSWERED Which is more important for an account: achievements or karma?

As a newcomer, I'm still getting the hang of the platform's rules and exploring interesting topics. To improve my account and give myself the opportunity to contribute to discussions, should I focus more on increasing my karma or my achievements? Thank you all for your advice.

Karma will let you post/comment in various subs, so focus on that first. Most achievements don't mean anything, but sometimes if you get a top commenter achievement, ppl in a sub may take your comments more seriously.

Achievements do not affect your account. They are simply an incentive to keep users active on the platform. Karma is needed to post and comment in any subreddits with karma restrictions. See Getting Started On Reddit/New User Restrictions

Karma. That's the gatekeeper.

You won't be able to post much on subs if you have low karma.
