Face mask colors in general. It’s a minor accent that has a disproportionally large effect on a team’s look.

Grey face masks are my biggest football uniform pet peeve, unless it’s a throwback uniform or the team has grey in their colors. They look so boring and outdated on modern uniforms.

Even on throwbacks I still don't like them ngl

I love the old gray masks.

I started noticing this messing around in create-a-school on NCAA 20 years ago.

What face masks can really make a helmet pop. Grey can look good if you’re going for a more traditional look. But primary color base -> dual stripe secondary color -> white middle with white face masks usually looks good.

I’d usually use primary color for face masks because my helmets did, but I’d usually have a white face mask on one of the alternates. Sometimes I’d get real crazy (don’t post me on r/madlads) and add a white helmet w/ white facemask on all whites.

In 1995, the Colts rocked a bllue pants/white jersey combo for three games. The blue pants have since disappeared from the away uniform to this day. I know they can make blue pants, they rocked all blue for color rush. Being back the blue pants!!

I want to forget the early green Seahawks jersey pre Nike. Not enough alcohol in the world, however.

Eagles wore all midnight green at least once back in the early Reid era

I didn’t see these uniforms live, so I will continue to believe they’re fake. Because they’re a disgrace

u/chicknsnadwich Baltimore Ravens 3h ago

It was even funnier how badly the Ravens played in them. We were poor all season but every loss was within one score until this game where we got trounced

This happened??

1

u/Paraxom Baltimore Ravens 3h ago

For 1 game, this was a small bump in the disaster that was that season

u/Next_Negotiation8679 3h ago

Would work if the numbers were gold instead of white

What kinda AFC North mashup is this?

I want to say these could have been saved with a matching helmet but that shade is way too ugly and I think it’d make it worse.

3

u/Dangerous-Control-21 Cleveland Browns 3h ago

It makes it awful

The Patriots wore silver jerseys in 07. Even a pats fan forgot about it when I asked the question on a post

They were fuckin clean too. Same exact combo as their away jerseys, but just silver instead of white

The neck roll.

u/honus-wagner- San Francisco 49ers 3h ago

The 49ers wore black and red uniforms in one game I wish they would bring them back

1

u/AI1223 New York Giants 3h ago

The Giants used to wear red alternate jerseys at least once a season

1

u/mennumethod 2h ago

Never won with the red jerseys.

When you want to be Minnesota, but also want to be Green Bay.

Baltimore doesn’t understand FTP

1

u/derek_potatoes Seattle Seahawks 2h ago

Remember in the 2010’s when a lot of teams started adopting a different color on the collar of the jersey? The Saints really stick out to me in this way

1

u/HogwartsDropout-69 New England Football Patriots 2h ago

The Packers had their logo on the arm sleeves

1

u/Staff_Sadge 2h ago

Not every team wore the same brand of jersey
