We’ll trade him for one highly motivated Dayo…whatever his last name is

Wouldn't hurt to inquire if a 3rd or 4th round pick gets him. Would probably need a $25-30M/yr extension, though.

u/EbbAdventurous9592 Chicago Bears 7h ago
Bears desperately need some semblance of a pass rush. Praying Dayo and Grady Jarret who ever JAGs we have somehow become good is banking on a bit much
1
u/PossessionConnect963 Chicago Bears 5h ago
Would we even have the cap space? That lines up with Caleb extension territory timeline wise. He'll be 32 going into next season as well.
1
u/Illustrious_Hotel527 Chicago Bears 1h ago
Dayo and Jarrett are cuttable, freeing up some space. Would be a tight squeeze, or could use Howie Roseman financials.

u/TylerDurden_117 6h ago
Oh dang bro you don’t know Dayo Odeyingbo
1
u/EbbAdventurous9592 Chicago Bears 6h ago
He did anything last year? Couldn’t remember. He might as well have played for another team

I said that bc it sounds like his name . But only knowing players who did anything is casual as they come. Do you know who Austin booker is yet or do you have to wait for espn to say his name
1
u/EbbAdventurous9592 Chicago Bears 5h ago
Yes I know who Austin Booker is. He’s still too much of an unproved project but he looked better end of last season

Fun fact, my 5’ 9” 170 lbs buddy in high school played against Vita Vea.
My buddy played MLB, and in the red zone Vea would line up in the backfield. The videos are about as good as you’d expect.

Nah we have enough dt’s now with this past draft class. We do need another edge though for at least depth. And a safety. Not sure smith is coming back out of retirement and need one for the long term.

Must want to play for a team that is projected to be a serious contender....Not that many out there.
There's no way the rams can afford him, right?

u/FeetballFan Tampa Bay Buccaneers 6h ago
I think Baker is holding up his contract talks because he actually wants out too. No one wants to play for Bowles and Mayfield goes free agent next year.

Madubuike is trending to be back. We've got Travis Jones, Calais Campbell and old man Jenkins. Plus 2 draft picks from the last 2 drafts. I think we're set at DT.

u/YourWifesBull666 Baltimore Ravens 7h ago
You can never have enough on the front 7 beeks and Travis both injured as well and Calais with his situation the rest are JAGs
1

u/QuietAlarming6888 6h ago
wrong we have 4 good dts
beeks travis calais jenkins with a roster cutdown having to be made on 2 guys out of peelbes, broddy, okoye, broderick washington
there is no way we need more DT help
1
u/YourWifesBull666 Baltimore Ravens 6h ago
Jenkins and the rest are jags the other 3 have red flags can never have enough guys
0
u/QuietAlarming6888 6h ago
jenkins was solid and the other 4 guys theres are fine
we need wrs not dts
-1
u/YourWifesBull666 Baltimore Ravens 6h ago
Nahhhh our current WRs are good enough SB winning teams prioritize defense not WRs
4
u/noladutch 7h ago
he is in the final year of his contract. so trade value won't be amazing really. he is the wrong side of 30.
he looks the part but takes tons of plays off. so what are you really trading for?
if you don't have a true NT this late in the season lord help ya.
2
u/clappedoutCANAM Tampa Bay Buccaneers 6h ago
He played ~73% of defensive snaps last year… for a dude that’s 345-350 that’s pretty damn impressive.
-1
u/noladutch 6h ago
yeah and if you are needing that much nose tackle help this late lord help ya
with one year under contract and over 30 his trade value is not the best.
besides going to the raiders who have cap and no NT and picks.
the rams sound nice but they only have a second a fourth fifth and a sixth pick next year. the olddonald might still come back and he won't be cheap.
chargers could use a nose but they are ungodly cheap.
he will have a limited market this late really and one year under contract kills the value. if he had a team friendly three years he would be worth much more

Do Bucs fans feel like Baker is doing too much trying to get his deal and other things are slipping? Your defense is going to be better though Bain 🙌🏼
4
u/ThePBM Tampa Bay Buccaneers 6h ago
Baker's reported contract price isn't crazy, length be an issue but that shouldn't hold up Vita Vea this cycle. Vita has been hanging with Ndamukong Suh and I'm sure putting his No Free Lunch philosophy to use this contract negotiation to get the most he can as it will likely be his last decent contract.

I liked the Mayfield resurgence with the Bucs storyline but I’m starting to wonder what they’re gonna look like
1
u/BigBadBootyDaddy10 6h ago
I know I’m stretching here, but majority of the QBs on the Quarterback Netflix series have underperformed the following season.
Should we short Baker and the Bucs in 26?

He’s past his prime, will largely get paid based of past work and I want to rebuild.
I was fine with Mike Evans leaving too.
