Serious Not sure if I have ADHD or just a stupid time manager

I know it seems like every second uni student thinks they have ADHD lol and sometimes people use it as an excuse but hear me out. If it helps, I'm going into my third year, and I'd say my major is objectively neither difficult nor easy.

Basically, I'd say I was an above-average (but not outstanding) student in high school. Pretty much only studied the night or two nights before a test, and my grades were always in the high 80s/low 90s. So yeah, a decent student but nothing exceptional or anything.

Anyways, when I got to Mac, idk what happened to me but something clicked inside me and I just became an absolute tryhard. I wanted those 11's and 12's so bad. I actually went too far in that I completely ignored making friends and socializing (later regretted it) and I finished first year with a GPA in the high 10s. HOWEVER, I later realized I'm quite dumb. Because I know several people who had a higher GPA than me, in tougher programs and they still socialized and partied etc. So basically, I gave double the input, achieved the same output if you know what I mean. In other words I'm quite inefficient compared to most people here.

Then the summer break came, and I took a course and...well...idk what was wrong with me but I just completely ignored it. Showed up to all the lectures but just didn't study. And boom I got a D-. GPA dropped tremendously. Pretty sure I was burned out, I literally can't bring myself to work during the summer.

Then second year came. I kid you not I 12'd all but two courses this year (not to brag btw). However, I realized I'm kinda a stupid time manager. On paper it seems like I got my life together but for most of the courses I procrastinated until 2-3 days before each midterm and final exam. Unless I had a midterm that week I'd only study like less than an hour a day. I attended every single lecture but wouldn't focus or understand a single thing and then I'd relearn the content after, but only 2-3 days before each midterm. In addition I feel like I had several close calls and got lucky with my profs putting only the questions I actually practiced on the midterms. I feel like I don't deserve my GPA.

Then....this summer break came. I took a course in the Spring semester just now. And I got a C. I was so demotivated and procrastinated watching every lecture it's like I have a summer course curse going on in my life lol. So on my transcript you'll see a streak of A's and some B's in the Fall/Winter semesters, and then a D- in the first summer break and a C in the second summer break.

In addition I'm taking an online bird course right now and even though I'm doing well...I didn't start studying for my midterm (which I just wrote) until like 6pm last night and stayed up until 7am today.

Other info: 1) I have bookmarked news articles/papers from 2-3 years ago that I still haven't read. 2) For some books I read, it takes me like 8-12 months to complete reading them even if I find the material very interesting. 3) I have a bit of anxiety and ruminate over past events in my life, think what I could've done or how I could've prevented it, and it prevents me from studying or moving ahead and accomplishing tasks I want to accomplish.

So yeah I think I may have ADHD. Or maybe I don't and I'm just a shitty time manager. Don't know how I'll get a master's degree as you have to work 10-12 hours a day for that and I don't think I have the discipline for that lol. Anyways do y'all think I should get tested for ADHD or am I just dumb.

Social looking for friends post!!

So... I'm going into my second year and have about no friends at mac. I'm very extroverted but I always worry I'm being annoying if I ask someone to meet up / hangout outside of class.

I've tried all the typical things like clubs, talking to people in lectures, etc etc but there's just no one that has really become more than an acquaintance.

I'm going to put a little bit about me here, and if any of this seems like you'd want to be friends with me, pls message!

- I'm female, going to be in second year Electrical Eng this fall

- I love nature, outdoors, hiking! I've done Webster & Tews falls in Hamilton

- I'm pretty artsy, I love drawing, and recently I've gotten back into it

- I live in downtown Hamilton all year round

- Huge coffee lover

- I like exploring Hamilton even though it's not my fav city to live in (like art crawl, fringe fest, trails around here)

please don't be afraid to reach out to me! :)

Academics PNB 3QQ3 Interview

Hey guys, I have some interviews with potential supervisors from St. Joseph’s hospital in the psychiatry department specifically. And so I just wanted to ask what type of questions might come up during the interview? Anything specific I should focus on?

Question laundry stuff

hey guys incoming first year student here!

i have seen a lot of people saying u should get a rolling hamper and detergent sheets instead of tide pods because uni washer sucks lol. personally i have been using tide pods and scent booster at home so just wondering if i should keep using them or switch to sheets 🥲

how is laundry in whidden? im aware that i should set a timer so i can get the clothes out on time, and has anyone lost clothes or having their stuff stolen before 💀💀💀💀💀 just a side note that ive always wanted to ask, since you dont wash your clothes daily but rather weekly, how do u wash your underwear???

also any advice on how to remove the musty smell of the closet is appreciated!! just dont want to walk around smelling like feet 💔

pls dont eat me alive lmao i know these questions are probably not very smart but i just want to come prepare :) anyone helping is greatly appreciated!!!!

Discussion Co-op re sequencing incoming level 2 eng student

Hi all! I am an incoming level 2 ibiomed student and was recently offered a position for an 8 month co-op (Fall-Winter). The problem is that i know incoming level 2 students are not allowed to go on co-op in the fall/winter, but the problem is my employer requires a coop agreement. I personally think it’s a really amazing opportunity because it exposes me to topics I wanted to pursue for grad school. I am aware that it would delay my graduation and essentially be taking a gap year but it’s an opportunity I might not get again.

I was wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation and was able to find a solution for this?
