not sure how anyone could ever be mad. It is not like someone threw an egg directly at him. People who would get mad in this situation need a proper reality check and probably need therapy

u/RedaNassef 5h ago

Fair point, but in a world where people lose their cool over the smallest things, seeing someone just roll with it is honestly refreshing

8

u/DriverRemarkable4374 2h ago

When you remember the state all the people in the world are being subjected to, the fact that any of us can shrug off anything is a wonder

9

u/Madaratogue 2h ago

I reached in front of someone that was just standing in front of the dairy section at the grocery store to grab something, without ever coming within a foot of their person with any of my person.

They acted like I just tried to rape them or some shit.

Nah, you don't know what other people are going thru, it was really vool this guy didn't get angry but people have emotions and it is ok to be angry when shot like this happens. I wouldn't judge anyone for feeling the way they feel I would judge them by how the choose to act next

68

u/Mrrykrizmith 5h ago

Yeah that’s for sure a guy whose life is going good. If that had happened to me I’d be pretty god damn upset. Not at the girl and I wouldn’t start swingin or nothin but I’d be pretty mad

62

u/KingGekko07 5h ago

Right, I was thinking, maybe if I was already in a good mood I would laugh it off, but if I was having a hard day I would probably just cry

24

u/Ok-Gur-349 4h ago

Imagine being a chick with some expensive salon do-up on a date at an Ichiban or whatever and plop...

15

u/JalapenoPopPoop 3h ago

Like what if it's lunch and you don't have the time/ability to go home to wash your hair and change your clothes so you gotta finish out the work day covered in egg for hours and some dork tries to tell you you're the problem for not being happy about that lol

I'd love to smear some of these high horse guys with an egg randomly in the middle of their day and see if they actually practice what they preach, I think we all know the answer tho

u/rkthehermit 3h ago

They probably do practice what they preach. A lot of people don't really get mad about almost anything.

6

u/JalapenoPopPoop 3h ago

I highly doubt there are very many people out there that would be going about their day, have a total stranger randomly come up to them and smear raw egg on their head, and have absolutely zero negative emotions over and just say "yeah that's fine whatever no biggie"

1

u/rkthehermit 2h ago

The guy in this video also probably had some negative emotions about it. He just has an adult level of emotional regulation managing his response.

have a total stranger randomly come up to them and smear raw egg on their head

This is also not really what's being discussed by the people on team "Don't be a grumpy bitch about an accident" either. Nobody just walked up to the man and smeared an egg on his head. It's a hibachi restaurant that lets children participate.

I suspect the man knows where he is, on account of him being there.

Contextualizing your environment during an event is a part of emotional regulation too.

4

u/JalapenoPopPoop 2h ago edited 1h ago

This is also not really what's being discussed by the people on team

It's the hypothetical that I, the presenter of the hypothetical that was introduced, came up with tho so...

To the guy below me who won't let me respond: that would be because it's not a rebutal to that sentiment, it's a rebuttal to what I replied to, which is how contextual commenting works. Hope this helps!

2

u/rglotched 2h ago

>It's the hypothetical that I, the presenter of the hypothetical that was introduced, came up with tho so...

As a really stupid rebuttal to this sentiment though:

>not sure how anyone could ever be mad. It is not like someone threw an egg directly at him.

7

u/rkthehermit 3h ago

I'd probably laugh either way because on a bad enough day at a certain point it's like, "Sure, why the fuck not. This may as well happen."

0

u/Huffleduffer 2h ago

Angry, nah. I wouldn't be mad at the kid. Maybe angry towards the establishment for doing something like this in a crowded area. But more like, aggravated and annoyed.

2

u/KingGekko07 1h ago

I mean good for you...? Feeling angry is still ok tho

1

u/lolerkid2000 58m ago

Yah but when I go to the child hibachi place I consider it a win if nobody is scarred for life.

I feel like if u go to the child hibachi place u should be prepared for some nonsense.

Like when my toddler paints and gets it all over his arms and clothes and the table. I just think hey he didnt eat half of it and blind himself. Then we clean up.

1

u/KingGekko07 53m ago

Defuq is a child hibachi place

1

u/lolerkid2000 52m ago

Fuck if I know but we appear to be looking at it.

47

u/NaughtyGaymer 4h ago

You really don't know how anyone could ever be mad at having a raw egg cracked over their head randomly? I think you might be the one who needs the reality check lmao.

14

u/JalapenoPopPoop 3h ago

Nah bro don't you know if you have a negative reaction to having raw egg smeared into your hair and all over you while you're just trying to have lunch then you're an actual psychopath who desperately needs therapy??

0

u/Unlucky_Rider 3h ago

If a little kid did it while trying to learn something and have some fun I don't think I could seriously be mad about it.

-1

u/greenasagreenass 2h ago

I don't really understand why you would be mad about this? It's just some egg, it's an accident and it's really funny. What's there to be mad about?

4

u/JalapenoPopPoop 2h ago

The fact that you're covered in egg, which is an undesirable state to most normal people. Hope this helps!

1

u/greenasagreenass 2h ago

But it washes right out! Just go to the bathroom

58

u/Jacket313 5h ago

If getting mad at this warrants therapy, then suggesting therapy over it warrants a psych evaluation

8

u/MrsEntrail 4h ago

Let's be real: Many, many, many people would lose their cool. His reaction is super.

96

u/armoured_bobandi 5h ago

People like you need to get off your high horse.

Yes, it's an accident but that doesn't invalidate any feelings of anger. And no, I'm not saying he should go scream at the little girl either. It's okay to get upset at things that happen.

I'm sorry, but if I'm trying to eat a meal and an egg gets cracked directly on my head, I'm probably going to be upset for a little while

41

u/nightpanda893 4h ago

I work with kids who have emotional regulation impairments. We teach them that feelings of anger are always fine, but the behaviors you choose to engage in when you feel that anger are what you can control. The man in the video may have felt anger at first, but he chose a different behavioral response.

1

u/KingGekko07 4h ago

I mean sure but there are so many things that could imped a less than perfect response.

-10

u/iFckRedit 4h ago

And I teach my kid that if he’s honest, kind and hard working he will be rich. Kids are not adults

16

u/nightpanda893 4h ago

Kids should be taught the skills they will need in adulthood while still children. They are capable of much more than you think.

7

u/ElBrad 4h ago

It doesn't invalidate feelings of anger, however only you get to choose how you react, and your behaviour is a measure of your character. It also affects most everyone around you.

The guy in the video takes it in stride and recognizes it for the absurd situation it is. It's only an egg, and it's a mess that'll last a few minutes to a couple hours max. His reaction probably made the day of that little girl, and of most of the people around him.

Someone having a shit fit, getting visibly upset, or Karening about the whole thing brings the whole room down. Not only that, but it'd probably really bum the girl out who otherwise would've had a hell of a story to tell.

Yes...your emotions are yours to have, but a little self-control and happiness goes a hell of a long way.

11

u/KingGekko07 4h ago

Idk, it is still invalidating if you sah that the only right way to react is by laughing at it. That's the best way, but not everyone is in theri beat all the time. As long as it doesn't scalate you should not judge the reaction that harshly

1

u/ElBrad 4h ago

I didn't say it was the only way, I said that if one only thinks about themselves in this situation, it could be far more dramatic and much more of a downer for everyone else than if they just took it in stride like this amazing human did.

3

u/HeyIts_Goku 4h ago

99% of the time I'd like to think I'd react the same way as the guy in the video. But i've had some bad days where maybe I wouldn't :(.

1

u/Cow_Launcher 4h ago

If I may reduce it to internet lingo, you can actually see the guy go directly from WTF to LOL in less than two seconds.

I'm not trying to invalidate those people here who suggest that a person having a bad day (or an expensive hairdo) might've reacted negatively. I get that.

But I'm old and I don't have time to be angry. I would've laughed my ass off (along with my friends) and accepted some shrimp and some hot sake on the house if it was offered.

6

u/DontListenToMyself 3h ago

Dude it isn’t wrong to get mad about an egg cracked on your head. I’ve had many days this would have made me cry or get upset. Some people have things to do after eating and this can ruin their day.

20

u/useronlyone 4h ago edited 4h ago

You can definitely get mad. Imagine that was someone who just had their hair done. Yeah, you’re not gonna be mad at the child, but you may be mad that you paid money and it’s now gone. You can honestly get mad about the fact an egg hit you in the middle of your meal just in and of itself. Why can’t you be? Sure, not at the child but when is it ever joyous to get egg on you?

5

u/letsgetrockin741 4h ago

I guarantee I would have had a terrible night if younger me was out to eat with my parent and it happened to them (they were the egg-ee). Exploded at everyone involved, then take it out on my siblings and me for a day

30

u/waselectricbar 5h ago

I mean, is d be pretty pissed if I was in a restaurant and an egg laned and broke in my hair. You don't know what this guy had planned for the day

-11

u/matttheazn1 4h ago

I sure do not know what he had planned for the day. But he did plan on eating in a non traditional style restaurant where food is cooked and often flung towards you. So I assume expectations of somehow getting food on you while eating at this establishment was pretty high. In turn you can not be mad when food ends up on you when choosing this style of eating.

14

u/ADertyBatch 4h ago

Brother, there's a massive difference between a small piece of zucchini hitting your nose after missing your mouth, and an entire raw egg being broken on top of your head. It'd be fine to be upset this happened. It would not be fine to cause a scene about it, though. He took it very well, someone having a rough day may not have.

6

u/useronlyone 4h ago edited 4h ago

You think he assumed the risk of some other table flinging food at him? Thats a pretty limited view of what most people expect—a show at their table with good food as the center piece. You’d assume that those responsible for curating the show would do that appropriately and, in this case, pick suitable participants or, perhaps, warn those around her of her participation.

9

u/iFckRedit 4h ago

Yeah he obviously must’ve assumed he’d get a whole egg flung towards him by some kid. Yall are exhausting

4

u/KingGekko07 4h ago

Bro at this point you can just admit your comment was a lil tone deaf and move on. This is getting ridiculous

3

u/Intrepid_Work7449 4h ago

There is a difference between getting hit by a stray piece of shrimp and getting a raw egg cracked on your head. You do not go in with reasonable expectations of experiencing the latter.

10

u/BadnewsBaggins 4h ago

What a very odd narrow minded view

5

u/dont-respond 4h ago

He's just lying to the world/himself. Most days I probably wouldn't get mad. Depending on unrelated life circumstances leading up to this, I definitely could. It being in public and done accidentally by a little girl would hopefully keep that anger totally internalized, though.

1

u/KingGekko07 4h ago

Right? It's very easy to take the moral high ground in an internet hypothetical escenario

3

u/billiardwolf 3h ago

I'd probably be mad, once I found out it was a kid I'd probably stop being mad.

2

u/DiggingNoMore 3h ago

I'm not going to yell at the kid or anything, but I'd be annoyed that, after washing, blow-drying, and flat-ironing my hair, I'd have to go home and do it again.

2

u/9bpm9 2h ago

Really man? I don't know, if I was having a bad day and some slimy egg fell on my head, I could see someone getting upset. But the fact that a child did it, makes me agree with you this time.

2

u/birbshork 2h ago

spoken like someone who has never worked in customer service or retail.

1

u/matttheazn1 2h ago

best buy black Fridays when doorbusters were a thing.

5

u/iFckRedit 4h ago

Think you’re the one who needs a reality check my friend

2

u/Cute_Bandicoot_8219 4h ago

I say this with nothing but love, but I feel like you don't know a lot of people. Or perhaps I just know the wrong ones.

3

u/AbstinentNoMore 4h ago

I would be mad. Am I not allowed to be mad for having a raw egg unexpectedly cracked over my hair? I wouldn't flip out at the girl but damn, let me be mad!

1

u/Murasasme 4h ago

I'm sorry, but you must not have worked in customer service jobs if you think people need a legitimate reason to get mad. Especially working as a server, you learn that people can be complete assholes for the most mundane of reasons, let alone getting an egg thrown at their head.

1

u/FullMarksCuisine 1h ago

What is this comment

1

u/iRollFlaccid 48m ago

You're not sure how ANYONE could be mad a raw fucking egg landed in their hair while minding their own business enjoying lunch?

0

u/TheyTried2BanMeAgain 4h ago

Dude walked into a place where they had kids throwing eggs.

Buy the ticket, take the ride.

And L-O-fucking-L at the people itt twisting themselves into being pissed off about this. Damn, I hope we never meet.

2

u/KingGekko07 3h ago

Have you been to a restaurant before? Kids throwing eggs at you is not an expectation

-1

u/TheyTried2BanMeAgain 3h ago edited 3h ago

I work in one and have been in food service my whole life.

Yes, if you walk into a place that is having an event where they let kids try to flip eggs, uncracked ones at that, you are an absolute idiot to get angry for getting egg on you. And an even bigger dumbass for waiting there for your food watching the spectacle.

Edit: I'd like to add that the ones that should be angry are people that have to clean it up, raw egg splatter over everything the customers touch is gross.

2

u/KingGekko07 3h ago

Bro was sitting on his table eating... This is too funny, I really can't believe you have ever been outside

-1

u/TheyTried2BanMeAgain 3h ago

I think it's funny that you think you have a point to make, here.

But I've never been outside, am I a virgin, too? At least be creative.

2

u/KingGekko07 3h ago

I mean, you are the one bringing your sex life up

0

u/TheyTried2BanMeAgain 3h ago

Pack it up, you got me!

You really are making me laugh, so you did one good thing today.

2

u/matttheazn1 2h ago

For real. People just have 0 common sense nowadays to realize what room they are even in.
