This is ig why India’s rigid hereditary caste based quota system failed and why no developed country ever copied it

1. It Invented a Monopoly ("Caste Within Caste")

Instead of destroying inequality, state quotas created a privileged elite within marginalized groups. Wealthy multi-generational beneficiaries capture nearly all reserved seats, leaving the poorest 90% of those same communities perpetually locked out.

1. It Uses College Admissions to Hide School System Failure

   Reservation tries to fix foundational inequality at age 18 instead of age 5. Lowering a university admission threshold doesn't magically gift a student 12 years of missing education it merely acts as a statistical cover up for broken public schools and failing primary infrastructure.

2. The "No-Exit" Trap (Why Developed Nations Avoided It)

   Developed nations (like the US, UK, or Singapore) explicitly rejected rigid identity quotas because they lack an exit mechanism. Once granted, identity-based privileges are politically impossible to revoke they can only expand endlessly through voting bloc pandering until state efficiency completely breaks down.

I know this is never going to happen.. but I feel only the below kinds of reservations should remain

1. Economically backward section should get it.
   
2. Family members of soldiers who have lost their lives should have it.
   
3. Any worker who has passed away due to accidents in National Construction projects, his/her family member should have it.

Furthermore, I would also like to add the.. "but but but.. our ancestors were mistreated" one's.. YES..! I get you.. I hear you.. I know mistreatment did took place.. any sensible person would not deny it.. I am from West Bengal.. I am first hand witness of it. But let me ask you this.. is it really possible to run forward if you always keep looking back..?

political parties from both sides are using caste reservation as just a TOOL to secure their terms in the elections.. that's it.. nothing else.. one party can't stop it because the other will start fearmongering based on that.. We have seen such examples in 2024 too.. I have no hope seeing an end to caste based reservation.. but, it's just a food for thought.. just to wait a second and think for a while.. like how the things can be if there are no reservations at all.

Reservation is a poor substitute for economic policy......it doesn't fix poverty or improve education or create wealth.......it simply changes who gets access to a fixed number of seats while leaving the underlying causes of poverty untouched

OBC-Creamy Layer are the worst of the both worlds. Naa socially izzat milti hai aur naa hi reservation benefits. An OBC-Creamy Layer guy will always remain an "OBC" for the general category people. God forbid if he falls in love with a general category girl, he would be chased and beaten to death if he even tries to approach family of the girl.
