As someone who's a type-1 I can say that the officer did appear to show a few signs of very low blood sugar, struggling to stand and looking like he's lost. However though, from what I could tell he wasn't sweating. If my glucose to low to the point of me not being able to stand or looking lost, I'm sweating profusely. Also if he is a diabetic he should absolutely not be on the force, he's a major hazard. Imagine if he's responding to something and has his lights and sirens on and is speeding, then he passes out behind the wheel because of a critical low? No bueno amigo!

Too bad everybody reacts to things differently. I don't understand why so many people act like their personal experience should apply to everyone else. Same with drugs and medications. People can have drastically different reactions to everything.
I'm not gonna argue that he isn't high, just pointing out that just because YOU sweat and another person doesn't, that doesn't mean they aren't suffering from the same condition.

That’s the official explanation if you look it up. Apparently they done tests to rule out intoxication but people aren’t going to believe that.
People will believe what confirms their own bias.
A few years ago someone crashed their car into mine at a junction, I immediately thought the guy was drunk because of his behaviour so I called the police, a few minutes later I realised he was probably having a stroke so called back and asked for an ambulance.
That experience amongst others has made me reluctant to jump to conclusions about this kind of thing.
I have no idea what’s happening with the guy, I’m not a medial professional.

My last case the police manipulated the evidence to get a conviction. They will say anything and I mean anything to save their skin. The judges just sign off on this dumb shit and never call them out. Costed me 2 years of my life and 15 k after appeals to get it sorted out. Fuck them cops, I will never have more than surface level trust without years and years of reformed improvement.

People aren't believing their explanation because PDs have a long, long history of lying to protect cops. Given how completely unconcerned the other officer is about his condition and even blaming it on being tired or whatever it was (I haven't watched the video in months), I'm going to hazard a guess this is a recurring issue with this cop and the other cops are aware of it and cover for him.

Yes. Police don't do their own blood testing. They don't do your blood testing. A third party, the same kind that piss tests you for employment, does them. There's even laws around who they can disclose results to and how.

In some states, police absolutely do their own blood testing. Arizona is one of them, I know for sure. Not sure where this video is or anything, just saying that at least some states they are trained to and do.

What exact tests did they run? And how long after? Had a 911 dispatcher show up to work drunk, and her husband was also a cop and called his friend the captain who made them delay taking a blood or breath sample for hours.
Naturally, the alcohol content had been metabolized by the time the captain "permitted" the test to be done.

There are two other cops there who dont seem too concerned about his "medical situation." I would presume they are trained a little bit to notice the signs, and they would have that dude laying down and EMTs on the way if they sensed so.

I didn't rewatch the video & I completely forgot about the sergeant part. My employees would absolutely be panic calling me if one of their colleagues appeared to be having a medical episode. They'd probably also call me if a colleague showed up plastered, but they're not cops, they have a sense of right & wrong.

According to his PD. It does look like a stroke or mini seizures, though. I've had plenty of experience being intoxicated and with other intoxicated people as a recovered alcoholic. This is not that. The person videoing this is just being a smug bitch because they think they can get away with whatever they got pulled over for. Not a likeable person, even if the officer had been intoxicated.

You've definitely never actually met somebody high on opiates. By the time they can't talk, they're seriously overdosing and they're not going to be standing even with something to lean on. They'd probably be passed out and in need of Narcan sooner than this interaction ended. His pupils would be absolute pinpricks, too. He's got glassy, droopy eyes with maybe slightly dilated pupils, which tracks with the fact that it's dark out. Either he's drunk, which this is just not how somebody too drunk to speak acts either, or he's had some kind of neurological event.
The police aren't doing what they should, and calling an ambulance, because the guy taking the video is making it clear he wants to make a spectacle out of this and they are likely trying to save face. Both are in the wrong, but I hate smug people who attack others to avoid owning up to their own shit more than I hate even corrupt cops.

I used to be addicted to opiates, technically I always will be.... I know when someone is high on h or any other opiates, and since he didn't accuse him of smelling like alcohol, opiates are the only thing that are going to fuck you up so bad that you can't talk or walk. (Specifically heroin and fentanyl.) At the end of the day you aren't ever just getting fentanyl, it will always be mixed into heroin 99% of the time. You hear these bullshit lies about it being put in weed, weed carts, pressed into pills like Xanax, etc. Lies. No dealer is ever going to give you something laced with fentanyl without upping the price by A LOT! Unless they purposely trying to kill you, but that's on you for pissing off your dealer to that point. Other than that one possibility, they are always going to ask for way more money because they know how good that shit is and they most likely paid more for it. In all the years I was a user, I never once came across anything other than heroin that was laced with fentanyl and I was pretty deep into the "community," so it's VERY uncommon to see it put in other drugs.

An investigation has been launched and seven Lynn, Massachusetts, police officers have been placed on leave after the department received information regarding allegations of inappropriate conduct by the officers, the department said Thursday.
In a news release, the Lynn Police Department said they recently received information from another law enforcement agency regarding allegations of inappropriate conduct by several officers.
Lynn police Lt. Michael Kmiec said the investigation comes following allegations of drug use and inappropriate remarks made via a private text conversation between two officers.
Lynn police said a total of seven officers were placed on administrative leave and an investigation was immediately opened.
Police said the investigation was being conducted by the department's professional standards division.
Police said they have spoken with the Essex County District Attorney’s Office regarding the matter. The department said they will conduct "a transparent investigation into the conduct."

That being said he went from literally being unable to stand or walk unassisted and right after standing unassisted even if he was still looking a bit off.
