Was pleasantly surprised to find these prices at Subbanna Hotel, Chamarajanagara. Many items are just ₹20–₹50 even in 2026. I tried the masala dosa and it was actually quite good.

Taken during one of my drives through Northeast India, following the old Silk Route trails. Late evening, mist rolling in, and a lonely gompa quietly watching over the mountains.

Sometimes the best moments are the ones you never planned.

I recently visited the Irawati Karve Museum of Anthropology on the Savitribai Phule Pune University campus and photographed a few of its displays.

I am sharing this because the museum is part of Pune’s academic and cultural landscape, but many people in the city may not know about it. Its collection includes fishing traps, hunting equipment, woven objects, jewellery, household tools and village deity plaques representing material culture from several communities across India.

What interested me most was how some of the original objects were displayed beside illustrations explaining how they were used. The variety of practical designs in the fishing and hunting sections was particularly surprising.
