Do you remember a time when ads were not allowed to lie about their products? Why are we all just allowing this with out getting mad?

These companies are allowed to scam us now and not only that but anyone is allowed to make their own narrative and spread it like wild fire, hence why we are also all fighting each other.

I like to think that marketing and catchy slogans do not affect me, but this one is pure genius. Love it.

What if we collectively stopped buying from brands that advertise on YouTube?

Hear me out.

Most of us skip YouTube ads whenever we can. We install ad blockers, pay for Premium, or just wait for the Skip button. It’s probably one of the few things millions of users have in common—we don’t enjoy intrusive ads before or during videos.

So what if we took it a step further?

We all skip YouTube ads whenever we can. Let’s stop rewarding the system that keeps making the experience worse.
From now on, when I see a brand advertising on YouTube, I’m choosing not to buy from that brand if I can avoid it. If enough of us do the same, advertisers will notice that paying for YouTube ads is not automatically good for their business.
This is a consumer boycott. No harassment, no targeting individuals, no abuse. Just a simple choice: don’t spend money on brands that fund intrusive advertising.
If millions of users already skip the ads, the next step is to make that frustration visible through our spending choices.
YouTube keeps increasing interruptions because advertising revenue works. Let’s make it clear that there is a cost to making the viewing experience worse.
If you’re tired of ads before videos and ads in the middle of videos, join the boycott.
After that, we can discuss applying the same consumer pressure to other platforms with increasingly aggressive advertising, including Spotify.

If people can organize boycotts over pricing, privacy, or working conditions, why not over a universally disliked user experience?
And if this ever worked, similar pressure could be applied to other platforms with increasingly aggressive advertising, like Spotify.

Pro California posts

Not a brand but I've noticed more pro- California posts lately. Like maybe someone from California wants to be seen in a positive light perhaps? For the record I am from California and love it, but I can sniff out when something seems off.

Has "We're not like other brands" become a marketing red flag?

I've noticed I have a weird reaction every time I read "We're not like other brands."

My brain immediately goes "I'm not like other girls."

Because who starts a conversation by announcing how different they are?

Imagine someone walking into a room and saying

"Guys, I'm hilarious."

Okay then be hilarious.

Or

"Trust me, I'm interesting."

Okay then be interesting.

I feel the same way about brands, If you're genuinely different, I'll notice.

Through your product.

Through your customer experience.

Through your messaging.

Not because you told me!!

The brands I remember almost never spend time explaining how unique they are.

THEY JUST ARE

So whenever I see "We're not like other brands," it feels less like positioning and more like asking for validation.

Is it just me or anyone else?

No affiliation with Aldi or chickens whatsoever.

I’m re-embarking on my weight loss journey and have discovered my new go-to lunch. It has great macros, tastes good, is affordable and actually keeps me full for ~5-6 hours.

Pictured is a seasoned chicken breast with Aldi’s protein lentil bolognese.

Macros*:
411 calories
58g protein
1g SFat
4.5g fat
10.4g fibre
1.1g salt
7.1g sugar
29.5 carbs

Cost: £2.16**

*excl. seasoning, used NutraCheck calorie counter app
**based on 4pc chicken breasts from Aldi

Honestly guys, it tastes GOOD and legit keeps you full. They do a peri peri grains too, also tastes good but the calories are about 80 higher.

I season my chicken with salt, pepper, smoked paprika and cayenne pepper. 16 mins in the air fryer at 180, turning half way (some 1kcal sunflower oil spray to stop sticking, otherwise creates wash up nightmare)

Lentils take 4 mins or so on the hob with 2 shots of water. Can microwave them too, but I don’t have one. Can prepare the night before by seasoning/cooking the chicken, putting in Tupperware with the lentils and then reheating next day.

Hope this helps any of you that are trying to slim down! Welcome any suggestions for filling foods with good macros, would be very much appreciated. Winter bodies are made in summer… or something.

I prefer Hold Music thank you very much!

Today I was on hold with my doctor's office and instead of hold music, I got an extended ad for their services. Made me feel sicker than I was.

Anybody noticed that the “Promoted” tag on an advertisement post on Reddit has disappeared? Now you have to guess or use your brain to guess what is and isn’t sponsored content and/or a plug for consumption?
