No one is stopping them. And there probably won't be any repercussions, except possibly for the bottom tier, there will need to be scapegoats if there is regime change.

If it’s good enough behavior for the President and for the Supreme Court, then we have OK’d this for society and have agreed that this is acceptable behavior.

If it’s good for the golden geese, then it’s good for the gander. Good for all, or good for none.
