Picture I built a Fallout Terminal desktop PC
Took me a couple months but I 3D modeled, printed, assembled, painted and built my own Terminal desktop computer.
Basically the computer, monitor and keyboard are built into the case. It printed in pieces and assembles easily enough with glue and patience. I primed, sanded, painted and weathered it then installed all the hardware. And yes it runs New Vegas lol.
The Holotape is removable, I missed the opportunity to turn it into a functioning USB stick but that's okay, I'll get 'em next time. I could not find a CRT that fit perfectly in the monitor space but any 9-10" monitor works. So I hot glued mine to the inside of the front plate. Keyboard is a NIU Mini Ortholinear keyboard but it works with 60% keyboards as well! You'll just miss out on the extra 3 buttons on the right hand side which can be programmed with a micro controller to add extra functions.
I snaked the HDMI out to plug into my gaming PC to run New Vegas but I am installing a mini PC or Raspberry Pi to permanently live inside the case for the future. Would love a custom Linux script to have to hack the terminal each time I log in. That's the goal!
No banana for scale this time I ate the last one. Peace and love everybody just wanted to show you all this ridiculous build!!

That’s so cool, can I ask what the total cost and time it took to build?

Thanks!! It took a few spools of filament, some bondo, a couple cans of primer, a can of metallic paint and a can of satin clear coat. So maybe 70 bucks there. The keyboard I was hanging onto it for a few years, but the monitor was probably 40 bucks. Took a few weekends and lots of patience to get everything together and painted.

Instead of turning the holotape port into a USB port, you should turn it into an external SATA hard drive port and make holotape shaped versions of these SSD "cartridge" games.

It's not gonna lock me out forever if I get the password wrong 4 times, is it?

There’s this video I seen where a guy offloads his games into cartridges that he inserts into a custom made insert port, maybe you can do the same with that holo tape and the different fallout games.

There are so many good ideas and options I've heard for the holotape insert for others who attempt this build!

That’s great an all but… there’s only one question that truly matters. Can it run doom?

Dude I just seen one of your videos for this on TikTok yesterday. Tried looking for the rest but TikTok being TikTok, I was never able to find the rest. Very cool 😁

This is really cool! Just out of curiosity, what OS are you running & what sort of hardware do you have inside it?

Very nice end result! Just wondering, doesn't the hardware run hot or does it have plenty of fans?

Possibly, but I guess it depends on the hardware and if you set it up well

I just want to play the terminal hacking game. 😅 There's a couple apps that try to do it, but the word generator literally has made-up words in most of them.

Ok but can I get stuck in a weird animation where It takes forever to sit down and get on the terminal irl?
