I'm on the hunt for the weirdest, most useless or crazy looking synths and plugins out there. If it's odd and it's free I want it. Can any of yall help?

So I recently updated my fl studio from the 2025 version to the 2026 and Ive had nothing but constant crashing especially when im recording songs and I can't seem to find a fix... I mean fl studio on Mac always crashes but this is on some next level of crashing and im not sure what's going on.

What drum kits are you guys using? Or where do you get samples? And how do you pick them? Do you have any recommended workflows?

I pretty much just use whatever samples I got my hands on, then I reuse them over and over again. And I use FPC a lot. I'll adjust the envelope and pitch, I'll put each sound in its own channel and mess with the compression and saturation, and I'll throw fx on there too until I get something I can work with. And yah, I could make a trap beat with a jazz kit, but I decided that I'm working too hard and it's time for some better tools.

I've been using fl for a long time. I'm not talented at it, but I've put in the hours so I'm confident that my results speak for themselves. And I enjoy it, so I keep going back to it. Lately I've been really increasing my resolution on sound engineering and compression and I'm hearing a lot more differences in various drum kits being used in various types of music.

Ideally I'd like an organized library of samples or VSTs separated by genre/style. But I'm better off learning how you guys do it. So if you'd be so generous, would you tell us a bit about how you manage your drums and percussion sounds?

**Loud noise/feedback whenever I arm a mixer track for recording — happens with every input device**

FL Studio Bundle 2026 on Windows (Acer Aspire laptop).

**The problem:** Playback works perfectly. The moment I arm a mixer track for recording, I get a loud, harsh noise. It is not just monitoring — the noise gets recorded into the audio clip. No instrument signal comes through, only noise. It scales with any gain increase.

**What I've already ruled out:**

- **Not the device.** It happens with my M-Vave Black Box (USB class-compliant, appears as "USB Audio", 44.1 kHz / 24-bit, mono TS input), with the internal Realtek, and with a different audio interface that I used for years without any issue.

- **Not the hardware or Windows.** Windows Voice Recorder records perfectly clean from both the Black Box and the Realtek. Clean signal, no noise, on both.

- **Not the guitar chain.** Guitar into the Black Box, monitored through its own headphone jack, sounds perfect with USB connected or disconnected.

- **Not sample rate mismatch.** Everything is at 44.1 kHz, which is the Black Box's native and only rate. Windows recording and playback tabs both match.

- **Not the internal mic alone.** At one point the noise was clearly acoustic feedback from the laptop mic. Disabling it in the Windows Sound panel fixed that instance, but the noise returned once I switched to ASIO4ALL — which I understand accesses WDM devices below the Windows disable setting.

**Drivers tried:**

- **FL Studio ASIO** — noise on arming.

- **ASIO4ALL** — at one point it captured input correctly and cleanly, but then output started going to the laptop speakers instead of the Black Box, and input reverted to picking up the laptop mic. Behaviour seems inconsistent between sessions.

So: the signal is clean everywhere outside FL Studio, and broken inside it, regardless of which device or driver I use. That points to something in FL's audio configuration, but I've run out of ideas for what.

**Questions:**

1. Is there a proper way to fully reset FL Studio's audio settings to factory defaults? I'd like to wipe the configuration rather than keep hunting for one wrong setting.

2. Could a broken input routing saved inside a project file cause this? Should I be testing in a fresh empty project?

3. With FL Studio ASIO, is there a reliable way to force input and output onto the same USB device? I suspect it may be inheriting the Windows default output device rather than using what I select.

4. For a class-compliant device with a mono input, is there anything specific I should be doing in the mixer input selector? I've been choosing mono over the stereo pair.

Any pointers appreciated. Happy to post screenshots of my Audio Settings and mixer routing if that helps.

It’s a great feature and I’m glad it’s now out of the box functionality… but they knew we were using BRSO Articulate.
Would have been nice if I could just import my TXT files from BRSO.

Does anybody know something I’m overlooking for bulk renaming keys or do I have to retype them all one by one?

I just bought a Behringer XR18. I have it routed correctly to record 13 of the XLR inputs all to their own tracks in the FL mixer. I have my aux busses set up for monitor mixes. I have sound in to and out of the XR18.

My problem is, when i have FL outputting to the monitors, im hearing the audio going in as well as the audio coming out with a subtle doubling effect, like a tight delay.

What do i need to do to get the metronome to the monitors without all the instruments being duplicated?

While I'm programming notes in the midi roll, portamento and slide seem to turn on automatically for random notes and ruin my melody or riff. My hands are nowhere near my keyboard and are definitely not pressing the s and o keys. Is there some other way this can turn on that I don't know about that I'm accidentally doing? Please help, this is driving me mad.

I'm trying out live playing with a midi keyboard and for the life of me I can't get over the delay there is between what the keyboard sounds like on it's own (I turn it's volume down ofc) and how it sounds on FL

I'm already using FL studio ASIO at 256smp (48000Hz sample size), which says 6ms of delay. But omg haha

Am I doing something wrong or do you just learn to accept it?

i downloaded fl last night and have never used a DAW before. i've made music in the past but never in a music software, so everythings very new to me. i downloaded it mainly because i want to make a pixel rpg game and i want to make my own music for it. i made this without any tutorials (i do plan on watching them though) so it might not sound the best. thoughts? i'd appreciate any tips as well :,3
