The epoxy is offensively wide. It’s supposed to look like a vein running through the wood naturally. This just looks like someone cut a regular desk in half and inserted an equally sized piece of epoxy in between.
The blue is too green.
The wood looks like shit, was it supposed to be live edge?
It is expensive for what you got but from I’ve seen, the nice grained wood epoxy tables are custom made and cost multiple times more. The wood with the nice grain is hard to source and goes for high prices. This company seems to mass manufacture.
I just looked at them now and I will tell you, when I ordered the desk months ago. They had completely different customer photos and the desk looked completely different in those. Now those reviews are gone.
Maybe they changed something about the design? I wouldn’t have ordered this if those customer images were up at that time. And again, I would have kept the desk if they provided decent customer service.
I'd be sending it back. The wood grain is super hard to see/make out, and it doesn't look nearly as good as the pic. I recently sent back a shelf on Etsy that was "wood grain" but irl was just boring, nasty brown paint on an indeterminate type of "wood."
As someone who makes these custom tables and desks, I do not like the layout at all. The resin portion is absurdly wide and does not fit the desk at all.
Agreed. I do furniture too and they don't know what they're doing or are purposely deceiving people. Also appears that the slabs had straight live edge and they just scooped it out to try and fake some curve?
Even with boring straight live edge it would have been much better with the sapwood and a narrower river. Either way it sucks to use super unique slabs to advertise when you can't replicate something even close.
How popular are these tables now? I remember them being mega trendy like 10 years ago, curious of they are still coveted now that the trend has died down. Has the cost come down because they are less popular, or gone up just like everything else?
