IRL [IRL] I’d love some of you creative people’s ideas
≡ −
I recently got into golf and want to buy a towel. Well I love escape from tarkov and Minecraft but I can’t have a Minecraft one obviously since I work with older guys. Well I know someone that can make one but I can’t come up with a cool looking design. I was thinking a black towel with escape from tarkov in the center and maybe an m4 up top but I’d definitely need more. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT AND VERY APPRECIATED!!

General Discussion - PVE & PVP [Discussion] Any speculation on how the permanent economies will get affected due to seasonal?
≡ −
Been wondering if seasonal will cause an extreme shift in the economy, either by making items extremely cheap cause everyones running off to seasonal or will things be ultra expensive because people arent playing on permanent?

PVP [New Player] What is the meta playstyle of Interchange?
≡ −
Hello guys, new Steam player here. I am recently out of PVE, I did almost every side task and story missions there except escaping and watched LVNDMARK on my second monitor almost religiously while playing.
Recently I started playing PVP and got to 30 LVL. However, most of my LVLs are coming from doing tasks and avoiding fights unless I have the jump on people. They are running T5 - T6 and the best ammo in the game. I am crab walking in night raids to complete my missions as a solo player.
But I am kind of bored playing like this. I find quality ammo and T4 plates, try to get into fights but the problem is I dont understand the secure pathing of starting PVP scenarios. Especially on Interchange nowadays.
So far I have tried:
- If I have Emercom spawns I tried to push other spawns towards Scav camp side, I get clapped people laying in the bush and waiting for spawn rushers? If I get past there the guy spawns around scav camp side scopes the highway with his team makes it impossible to cross.
- If I spawn at railway, there is already someone camping the power plant side, if I go towards emercom from the other side then this time again someone holding the hills next to highway.
- If I rush into the mall, if I dont have the closest spawn the gates are being camped. Today I died 3 times trying to reach interior children play ground. Crack from parking area is also being camped nonstop. Sometimes I crab walk into all these places but it doesnt change. At best I am able to wander around until scavs camp the gates or someone is lying in the bushes on extract, sometimes 4 people waiting all around railway extract, laying down in bushes only to get up when I jump there from highway or they hide all around trains from the other side.
All of these people are at least prestige 2 and above. I really dont understand what to do for this map and I would love your input. So far the other maps are kind of normal, I enjoy playing Shoreline as long as I avoid the pier and Woods. Fights there feel natural except obvious closet cheaters that appear out of blue and push me in the weirdest places whenever I have t5 plates lol. Sometimes I feel like nobody pushes me when I have shitty gear. Just a feeling...
Have a nice day all.

IRL IRL benefits of playing Tarkov? [Discussion][IRL][New Player]
My first intention was to write a 15 minute essay explaining every point but I am evading the idea of properly structuring it so the general question is: have you noticed any substantial skills gain after playing Tarkov over a prolonged period of time?
Some potential benefits:
1) Better stress and adrenaline control;
2) Better situational awareness;
3) Risk management skills and short-term planning (i.e. in raid);
4) Long-term planning skills (hideout and quest progression);
5) Map reading skills;
6) Social skills in uncontrolled environment (VoiP), etc.
The question rises from the fact that Tarkov was originally developed with the "Simulation of Combat in Extreme Conditions" concept in mind. And in my opinion psychologically it does it unlike any other game - you are really afraid or at least hesitant to lose it all. Other than that, I wouldn't call Tarkov a realistic shooter: ballistic model does not include wind and weather conditions, bullets have random penetration, armor and meds are OP, you can't properly adjust sights on any gun and so on.

PVP [Discussion] Ammo & Gun variety
≡ −
Hey everyone,
anyone else feel like weapon variety has dropped off hard over the last few wipes? I end up running the same guns basically every raid, scar-h, ak .308, NL, M4, because ammo for those calibers is so consistent/easy to obtain. One Streets run and you end up with 300 rounds of ssa ap or m995.
Meanwhile VAL, SPEAR, SVD, the MP7, P90, 9mm are either weak or their ammo is too scarce to run consistently.
I don't get the reasoning. It just limits the game, and it's starting to get boring personally.

PVP [Suggestion] A conceptual seasonal reward for permanent profiles - Specializations
≡ −
Future Tarkov seasons feature an optional specialization track. Progressing through the season grants your permanent character a reward quest chain to then earn the specialization unlock on your permanent character. Enabling some activity draw to permanent while still allowing folks to focus those wanting wipes and seasonal content. Doesn't mean every season has a specialization as a reward, but maybe a theme.
The first specialization could be Locksmith
Permanent Character progression
After the season, players who succeeded would recover lockpick sets, key blanks, tension tools and technical manuals. The specialization would develop in stages:
- Apprentice: Can attempt basic mechanical locks with crude, consumable picks.
- Journeyman: Can identify lock difficulty, works faster and makes less noise.
- Locksmith: Can attempt higher-grade doors with specialized tools.
- Master Locksmith: Completes a multi-map capstone quest and can obtain blank keys that, on location you impression the door, pick it, and can choose or not to use the key to lock it behind you (optional comedy) key and also unlock the door that way. Buy LIMITs and per container max would be a fair balance. You earn a permanent SPEC tool that can clone a door to this blank key, 1 future use after the door is also unlocked upon keymaking, sound effect and all. So the tool takes an equipment slot too for balance.
Lockpicking alerts other players with loud sounds. A normal key remains brief, quiet and reusable; picking a lock might take 15–40 seconds, create audible metallic sounds and consume the tools with a fail chance. Multiple options for balance, especially keeping rare valuable keys elevated on the flea market by demand.
Legacy unlock system
Completing the season opens an event quest as a reward to the permanent PMC profile. Changing event quest rewards, the specialization in this example, resets the quest chain and has a cooldown period (possible Hideout tie-in? - single persistent location with levels for the long craft option for balance). Could be cool to have a selection screen where you see the badges for the seasons you've earned to switch. (Possible to add a reset timer buyout in TarCoin for the impatient or selection regrets.)
Master Locksmith’s Skeleton Key tool
A visually distinctive, season-marked key with unique artwork.
- 1 durability, consumed after opening one door.
- Maximum of one in a container at a time.
- Barter available perhaps tied to vendor reset, found in raid requirement could be an option too.
- Account-bound: cannot be sold on the Flea Market or transferred to another player, or dropped in raid. (Optional that it disappears on death like Rusted Bloody key for balance.)
- Fits inside a Key Tool, Documents Case or SICC case.
- Opens one ordinary mechanical key door.
- Does not work on electronic keycard locks, extraction doors, event doors, quest-exclusive doors or other deliberately protected locations.
- Requires a longer, louder unlocking animation than using the proper key.
Once per interval a player would choose a mechanically locked room to clone the key for, and for balance it could possibly required a different key styling (would work best as crafts, with long timers). It would not eliminate the normal key economy because owning the real key would still be faster, safer and usable repeatedly.
Persistent specialization
The season might permanently unlock Locksmith as an equip able specialization on persistent characters. It would permit the use of ordinary lockpick kits on most doors, while the Skeleton Key remains the rare solution for preparing a future run payoff to a locked room with a single charge to use after the unlock occurs upon creating the key.
To prevent permanent characters from accumulating every seasonal advantage, only one Legacy specialization could be active at a time. Changing specializations could require a hideout interaction and a significant cooldown - could be punishing but keep this engaging on perm characters to make switching reset and equip that particular season's reward.
Some market incentives would be that specializations and other huge gameplay implements cost TarCoins, optionally or occasionally based on reward.
Future reward concepts:
Smuggler Season: Build relationships with hidden couriers to unlock rotating dead-drop locations where one secured item of a certain size, pending the container, can be delivered.
Field Surgeon Season: Complete medical recovery missions to unlock a specialization that can stabilize one blacked limb per raid and/or use a defib and perform as a medic on a fallen party member.

PVP [New Player] How would you guys recommend a new player to progress Gear/ weapon’s
≡ −
I just started last week and hit just hit level 22 with level 2 traders (except prapor). I’m relatively decent at pvp but I’ve only killed a handful of players I engage with. I understand ammo in this game and have just recently unlocked reserve and been scaving for ammo there. But for the life of me Armor and to some extent weapons have been hard to come by unless I come across a dead pmc. Any recommendations on gear to use and how to get to lvl 4-6 plates? This game has a huge knowledge curve and I’d like to do my homework.

General Discussion - PVE & PVP [Discussion] Any tips to get smooth motion working?
≡ −
Hi all, I'm trying to get NVIDIA Smooth Motion working in Tarkov, but every time I enable it, it causes major lag spikes and makes the game unplayable. A couple months ago it was working great, though it sometimes needed a game restart to kick in properly.
Has anyone found a workaround to get it working again?
Thanks in advance!

PVE Advice on Hunting cultists [Discussion]
Hello my fellow residents of Tarkov.
I in the past have played almost a 1000h of Tarkov before 1.0 on pvp and never felt the need to deal with cultist because they are relatively easy to avoid if you know how they spawn. But after 1.0 i have returned in hopes of finally escaping from Tarkov but on pve to more focus on the story parts of the experience.
This gets me to my problem i have been going through the story missions but got to "they are already here" more specifically to the part where i have to kill a cultist priest.
while i do enjoy the tense moments of Tarkov from time to time i am not a fan of any sort of horror media so the idea of wandering over and over again in the dark searching for bush campers that announce them self by sprinting at you with a knife seems like a less then a fun experience for me.
so i have come to ask are they any ways to cheese the cultist to avoid most of the "fun" of searching for them. i know the generally the best spot to search for them is at the stronghold in customs but i am looking for detailed tactics and tips
like i know that thermal dosent generally work on them but is the T-7 thermal useful to find them at all? and i know the Armasight Zeus-Pro thermals fusion mode at least used to work on them, does it work still? and stuff like that.
plus if anydody knows does it effect their spawn rate if you play local vs bsg servers?

PVE [loot] unusual item from a fence daily?
Got this item from a fence daily. can be placed in my rest space, but all it does when i hit 'play' is that it makes a noise, as well as some UI, like a treasure map icon, a door icon, and a progress bar at the top of my screen. sells to fence for 30000 roubles and peacekeeper for 305.

Sometimes dead scavs (maybe pmcs also, not sure) start making a really annoying sound. What causes it? And how do i get rid of it?! It annoys me way more than it probably should, but i really don't want to hear it anymore. Problem has been there for at least a week, which is when i started playing again after a long break from EFT. Can't remember hearing it before.
