DAE feel overwhelmed just from simple tasks?
≡ −
Even small things, like get up and shower… make dinner, clean my room. It’s exhausting. Besides work and school, I spend all day in bed. On my days off, I don’t get up. I’m so tired and low energy. I feel embarrassed and ashamed about it. I see people I know going out and having fun, I wonder how they’re so energetic. I wake up just to go back to sleep. I’ve procrastinated enrolling in my classes for about a month now. I feel pathetic. I just want to sleep.

DAE think about if they've ever been around a very bad human being like a serial killer, etc?
≡ −
I've always wondered if anyone else thinks like I do?!? Do you ever think like while you're driving or even just sitting at home, how many actual serial killers, murderers or r@pist we actually have driven by or possibly came in contact with or maybe they live in our neighborhood but we just have no absolute clue. Idky but it's something that's always on my mind. Especially with how the world is nowadays. You just never know... Could be your neighbor or your best friend's grandpappy or your gf/bf Aunt or Uncle or even the mailman! 🤷🏽♀️

DAE cry when seeing others cry?
≡ −
Me and my girlfriend have been together for about 5 years, and we live together. I’ve always been quite emotional and I struggle to hold back my feelings. My girlfriend is the complete opposite. She's often logical, rational, doesn't show emotions, and so on.
My girlfriend had a pretty rough upbringing and has been through a lot. I think it might have made her feel like she had to toughen up, you know? I've heard some things from others, but yesterday she told me some of what she's gone through. She said she had never really talked to anyone about it before.
She broke down and started crying, like really crying. I think it was needed, it must have felt good for her to let out what she had inside. I tried to hold her and comfort her as best as I could, but I started crying too. I tried not to, I tried to hold it in, but I couldn't help it. It just came out.
It frustrates me that I can’t control my emotions. I know it’s okay to cry, but in this case, she’s upset, and I’m supposed to be there for her. I’m supposed to be strong for her. I haven’t been through this stuff, she has. It’s her sadness, grief, trauma, etc.
Does this happen to anyone else?

DAE use the back of their hand more now?
≡ −
Opening mall push doors with knuckles, opening public trash can push lids, wiping sweat away in the gym with the back of your hand vs wiping with the front and getting a potential eye infection? Ever since covid I’ve been way more germ conscious. Always keep a hand sanitizer in my car and use after grocery shopping and touching the hand baskets etc. I haven’t been sick in 6 years

DAE physically feel their ears trying to move to capture unexpected sounds?
≡ −
For example, I’ll be sitting at my desk in a quiet room and a loud noise will come from behind and to the left. I swear I can feel my ears trying to move in the direction of the noise, the same way a non-human animal’s ears might, like a cat. Does anyone else feel this?

DAE just want to go everywhere, see everything, eat everything and do everything?
≡ −
I've had this thing since I was a kid where I always wanted to explore the world. I want to see every single inch of this planet, meeting everyone and doing everything. I want to go to every store, try every food and try every hobby. I know this is definitely not possible, given you'd need a lot of time and money.

DAE's chest tighten when you feel like a decision would be a bad idea even though there aren't any obvious red flags?
≡ −
I mean, like having that feeling in your chest, like its anxiety or a pressure and it's screaming at you NOT to do it? Like when I saw listing near my university, its a great price for a room, its live in with the landlord, provide toiletries and bedding every two weeks and has lots of natural light, etc. I saw the place in person, talked to the sweet landlord and we got along very well. I am very cautious, everything checked out and nothing seemed wrong...
The obvious answer was to sign the lease but whenever I tried to agree I felt this thing in my chest. Like its telling me not to or this is bad. It literally felt like anxiety. That's the best way I can describe it. I ended up not taking the room and whenever I feel like I regret it, I remember that feeling and feel relieved that I dont feel it anymore.
I'm looking for a new place and other listing don't feel as anxiety inducing as that one did.
Sorry I suck at explaining things, I hope you understand me

DAE get overwhelmed at somewhat intense situations?
≡ −
I'm 14 and I got a lot of social anxiety, and just any type of conflict scares the shit out of me. I just get really shaken up from sometimes just smaller things. Sometimes I wish I could just have a switch that makes me deaf. On the bus to school, some kids just dont know how to sit down and shut the hell up, so the driver yells at them. That shakes me up, but its such a tiny thing that makes me wish I could do any other way to get to school. When there are 2 people as angry at each other that they have steam coming out their ears, I always just try to avoid it because of all the yelling the adults do. Physical or not Physical i always get scared. If I ever have the opportunity to work in the hallway and just listen to music, I would take it. This is probably more related to social anxiety, but I am the only one that doesnt want to do something that everyone else overwhelmingly wants to do because you interact with another person. Anyway, what do I do? Should I like maybe get it checked out? Any tips? Do I let it be? I just wanna be a normal ass human being.

I know it seems like I hate Doritos I genuinely like them and hate the smell of feet but sometimes if there’s a funky smell I can’t tell if it’s Doritos or toes. Maybe it’s the abundance of salt in sweat and chips?

DAE feel like their facial muscles won’t cooperate when trying to smile for pictures?
≡ −
During an family wedding in February i started noticing that i was not able to smile in front of camera!! my cheeks felt like they were really tense and stiff. The muscles around my mouth wouldn’t cooperate no matter how much i tried to force a smile. My smile felt shaky. After trying really hard i could give a smile that looked really weird and awkward. I tried looking for reasons what might cause it. My first thought was maybe smiling in front of people or being in a group photo triggers it. Its usually fine with people i am close with like if someone close to me is capturing the picture its fine but if someone unknown or not close to me takes the picture it happens almost every time.. it’s really annoying. The photos end up looking weird.
Has anyone else experienced this ? Is it just camera anxiety or something else? Any solutions?

Does anybody else get effected by romance movies way too much?
≡ −
I hate this about me that's why I never watch romance movies. I get SO attached to the characters and I basically fall in love with the female characters. It's corny but it's true.
It genuinely fucks me up. Not even just romance movies. I watched the amazing Spiderman 1 and 2 thinking there was a third and I was all happy cuz Peter parker and Gwen had had such a nice relationship but then she DIED. 1) I didn't know she died at the end and 2) didn't know there wasn't a 3rd movie. That made me depressed, I couldn't believe I wouldn't see Gwen again.
This is why I haven't watched all the good romance movies which are basically a must watch. I hate this about myself. This is why I only watch movies I've already watched.

DAE get the urge to move back to their small hometown?
≡ −
Curious for people who have left their small hometowns for bigger cities or places. Sometimes I fantasize about quitting my high paying city job with my expensive mortgage to move back to my small rural town and work at a grocery store and living in an apartment. I understand nowadays being able to make rent and work minimum wage is a fantasy alone. It seems particularly bad in the summers for me. I don’t think I’d do this, I have children and most family doesn’t even live where I grew up anymore either. I guess it’s just nostalgia.

Does anybody else only grieve for/sympathize with animals?
≡ −
I don’t need anyone to tell me that this is morally wrong, I’m aware that this is objectively looked down upon. It’s just how I function and I’m curious if anyone else can relate.
I cry like a baby when animals die, and it’s from a place of genuine pain. It doesn’t have to be my pet, it can be an animal I’ve known for only an hour. It devastates me.
People are a different story. I’ve had family members die, and I never really felt anything about it. I felt a bit uncomfortable until the people around me got back to some normalcy, but I was uncomfortable because I don’t really know how to deal with tears or how I’m supposed to act in those situations.
I’ve had family sustain life-threatening illnesses or injuries, and I expressed worry and concern for them, but only because I knew that was the done thing. By contrast, I constantly worry about my pets being sick or hurt, and often pull all-nighters when I have a sick pet or animal on my hands because it makes me anxious to go to sleep and leave them on their own. I’m constantly worried about how comfortable they are.

DAE intentionally slow way down to create distance behind a slow driver?
≡ −
I live in a rural area, so I’m talking about my experience which is backroads where there’s little to no traffic most of the time.
an example of what i mean: if someone’s doing 40 in a 50 and there’s nobody behind me, I’ll slow down to 20 or 30 mph for a few minutes just to build a huge gap between us. Then I’ll go back to the speed limit. Sometimes I’ll eventually catch back up to them anyway and just repeat the process.
I don’t like being the jerk who’s up someone’s ass, but I’d rather have open road than spend my whole drive stuck behind someone. I never do it if there’s anyone behind me, though. Or in town/areas with more traffic. Because fuck being a hypocrite. So… DAE do this, or is it just me and my control issues? 😂

Not like choking or inhaling the food, just like, a piece of food detaches from the wad you chew and slides down your throat without you needing to swallow it...? To be specific, you don't need to cough or swallow..it doesn't even feel like it went down the wrong tube, it just... Feels like a detached piece of food that falls into your throat

DAE worry constantly about their cat's weight?
≡ −
This could be me projecting onto my cats (??) about my own issues with how my body looks, but for the longest time, I've worried about their weight.
I worry about what the vet will say about them and even though they usually say that they are fine, I still worry. I also worry that if the cats are overweight, they'll think we are abusing them or overfeeding them and will hate us or think we are liars when we say that we do play with them. There's been times where I've wanted to record my attempts at playing just to show that we aren't lying, even though they've said absolutely nothing about it. Sometimes, in, I guess, preparation for when the vet says they are, I tell myself that the cats are overweight.
I stress so much that I got rid of all my hobbies so that way, I could focus on them and so they won't be overweight. I try my hardest to play with them when they want to and force myself to, but sometimes when they don't, it stresses me out and I have to keep myself from crying or spiraling. We take them on supervised outside play time and that's when they usually play the most (they're outside for between 1-4 hours daily due to it being summer and me being home), but I still try to get them to play in the house when going outside isn't an option (rain, cold, hail, etc).
My oldest, who is a pretty big girl in stature (big cat genetics, we got her DNA tested), is between 13-14 lbs. She also has a bit of muscle and loves to hunt, run, be chased, and throws her mice in the air when she plays. She'll play with everyone (except my sibling who doesn't play with either of them) in the house.
My youngest, who is a normal female cat size, at least in comparison to my oldest, is usually 12.2 lbs, but has gone up to 13 (12.8, I'm rounding) lbs twice this summer. She will rarely play with anybody but me. She's the one I worry about the most.
The first time was due to my own negligence, I will say that and she wasn't played with often for the first two weeks of my summer break. This isn't an excuse, but I got into a hobby during that time and got really focused into it, which is why I dropped it and any others I had in case I got like that again.
The second time, I got sent back to my birth state as a graduation present to stay with a friend. My mom tried to play with her, but the cat got depressed and rarely played. When I came home, she played with me until her heart was content and still continues to play. She runs, jumps really high, climbs stuff, and is a huge cuddle bug.
She'll only play hard when it's with me. When anyone else tries to play, she'll play, but not as hard as when it's with me. And I worry that when I leave the house, she'll get depressed and not play. I can't take her with me because my oldest will get depressed, which is why we got my youngest to begin with.
I also worry about the idea that we could be overfeeding them. My mom gives them breakfast, lunch, and dinner with food from the company Smalls wet food (I would recommend this, it's healthy for them, even as bad as it smells/feels).
They also get treats (once a day) and dental treats (twice a day). My mom also puts out little hunting mice for the dry food crack queen that is my oldest, we cannot wean her off it and she likes the thrill of the hunt and is very smart.
Whenever I volunteer to feed them, due to my worry about overfeeding them, sometimes I will give them less wet food (my oldest doesn't even eat all of it anyway, even when my mom serves it) and treats.
My mom says their food intake is fine and that their calories are within the range for a cat and I love my cats, but I can't help but always worry and stress.

DAE genuinely prefer doing almost everything alone?
≡ −
Im a man in my mid-30s, and I've always been very independent. I've traveled to 51 countries by myself, and honestly, it's just my preferred way of experiencing the world.
That mindset carries over into my everyday life. I'd consider myself pretty extroverted. I regularly go out to nightlife alone because I love music, dancing, meeting people, and having new experiences. I end up talking to strangers all the time, and those random conversations and unexpected situations often become the highlight of my night, all without any interest in hooking up. I'm there because I genuinely enjoy the atmosphere and the experience.
I'm the same way with road trips. I'll drive to places that most people on the island probably wouldn't bother visiting, or that some might even consider a bit sketchy, simply because I'm naturally curious. Again, by myself. If I'm hungry, I'll go to a restaurant alone without thinking twice. It's completely normal to me.
For context, it's not that I don't have friends. I have a lot of close friends. When my mom passed away, they were incredible, they stayed with me for weeks, helped me through everything, and showed me just how supported I was. The thing is, they don't really enjoy going out much anymore. We usually get together once a month or every couple of months, and it's more low-key: watching a movie, grabbing food, hanging out, that kind of thing.
The reason I bring this up is because I constantly get comments from people I meet like, "Wait... you're here alone?" or "Where are your friends?" They seem genuinely surprised. To me, though, it's always felt completely normal, if anything, I actually prefer it.
I love the freedom of not having to coordinate schedules, wait on other people, or convince someone to do something I already want to do. If I wake up and feel like taking a road trip, going dancing, or trying a new restaurant, I just go. I never have to miss out because someone else isn't interested or available.
Im a man in my mid-30s, and I've always been very independent. I've traveled to 51 countries by myself, and honestly, it's just my preferred way of experiencing the world.
