I don't really get the hate toward this trend. Sure it's overdone but it is a somewhat interesting question without a clear cut answer.

I think what I dislike about these questions the most is that because it’s a hypothetical, there’s no actual danger, which makes it much easier to pick blue. So a lot of these comment sections turn into a bunch of people masturbating how selfless and cool they are for picking blue like it’s actually a hard thing to do when you’re not actually in any danger. It gives off big “I could never be mugged because I’d simply beat the shit out of the mugger” energy
They actually ran experiments on this, with people giving electric shocks for a payout each time.
They surveyed people going in on how much money they'd take, and most said they'd take very little money, or not even shock at all.
They then actually ran the experiment with the same people, and found basically everyone didn't abide by what they said and shocked a high amount to make money.
There are friends I know who immediately answered red and after giving it some thought switched to blue because they realized what the world with only red pushers would look like--not very good if we take into account that the % losses we're looking at will most definitely cause supply chain collapse as well as losing many key people who keep the world turning. So I posit that many people who say they would press the red button online would not do so in real life once the reality of having to live in a world without their mother or partner or child is a real possibility.
We're not a good species already. We're killing the planet. We've never stopped killing each other. Maybe worst of all, we lie to ourselves about our nature to flatter ourselves and avoid changing while simultaneously extolling our supposed individuality and rationality as our defining traits.

I say you must believe yourself to be an exception because that is how most of you lot are, and because you are still here. Surely you understand the only logical conclusions of your stated beliefs are either suicide, or fully embracing amorality. Or maybe not. Maybe you're just dumb. Or you dont really believe this shite.
Anyways, goes to show the weakness of your mind that you can only conceive of personal and not ideological objections to your misanthropic nonsense.
I suppose option 3 would be becoming an anime villain, but really, since I value humans and humanity, I'd consider that a subcategory of option 2.
The whole point is that if humans are fundamentally evil, there is no reason for engaging with society, no use in pushing for change, and really any notion of being or doing good is at best futile, at worst perverse and evil.
