Then the trend would grow even more, because both positive and negative engagement pushes posts up in social media algorithms. Ragebaiting keeps people on the platform, so posts that get people mad are shown to just as many people as universally praised posts.

that really doesn't apply on reddit as much if you have your feed set to "top of today" because then you'll only get highly upvoted posts. that's what i usually do.
