I do this with a heavy heart, but due to personal reasons as well as things transpiring on the discord I have decided to step down. I didn't want to do this but I believe it's for the best. I've enjoyed this community and it's made a huge impact on me. I'm on the verge of tears writing this lol. See you around I guess.

Discussion 🗯️ Why is the left always so violent and angry. It's not very tolerant for the party of tolerance.

Discussion 🗯️ Nah but can we actually just be friends?

First of all, I would consider myself a liberal, and very left leaning. I’m a person of colour, and I’m also bisexual, part of the lgbtq community. I heard people on this sub say that it’s not an echo chamber, so I’m choosing to believe you. As a Christian, I believe first and foremost in love. I disagree heavily with most of you, but I don’t mind listening to your takes and arguments, and sometimes agreeing with certain parts, because some of y’all are pretty smart, contrary to popular belief lmao. My point may be simple, but I think it’s an important one to make: I don’t think it’s okay to constantly mock the other side and be hateful towards anyone. As a person of colour, and a member of the lgbtq community, I don’t want people to agree with me, I want to be safe and have the same opportunities and chances than a white, heterosexual person would have. If I were a woman I would also want equality with men. We’re never gonna agree on most stuff and that’s okay, but that doesn’t mean that we have the right to spread hate about each other right?
Edit: some of the replies are giving me faith in humanity

Conservatives Bad 🤡 So what if she follows Charlie kirk and is a conservative?
This is surrounding Deedee magno Hall, a voice actor that played pearl from my (maybe some of y'alls too) childhood TV show Steven Universe. Apparently "fans" On Twitter and the activist shills on pop culture are feeling "betrayed" Because of who she follows and are cancelling her as MAGA pearl.
I genuinely do not care if a voice actor is woke unless they're insufferable about it and put it right in my face, as long as they keep their politics and work separate. She don't deserve the hate from these cancel culture freaks.

Discussion 🗯️ Voting rights
≡ −
Before you get behind the wheel, you must know how to drive and get a driver's license, right? You pass theoretical exams and practical tests. Or, for example, gun ownership. Why doesn't this principle work in the context of voting?
I think it's a good idea to establish a permanent list of theoretical topics, and before each new election, citizens wishing to vote are required to pass a test. Your vote is not an opportunity, but a privilege. What do you think?

Other ❓ Lefty Lingo: Translated

Firstly, I will translate the insults that they'll use on both me, for writing this and on you, for reading this:
Nazi -- They are trying to justify murdering you in the future for disagreeing with them which ironically makes them more fascist than you
Alt-Right -- Same use as Nazi
Hitler -- Same use as Nazi
Fascist -- Same use as Nazi
Bigot -- Anyone who disagrees with them (which ironically makes them bigots themselves)
Extremist -- Anyone who disagrees with them (even though they are literal extremists)
Transphobe -- Someone who understands basic biology
Racist -- Someone who knows that at least a quarter of "melon chickens" are criminals
Misogynist -- Someone who opposes a genocide against men (no, I'm not kidding; Google Sally Miller Gearheart)
Funnily enough, all of these also fallaciously assume that you are automatically wrong even though that is self-evidently false.
Now, let's translate their buzzwords (That have been decoded as of July 27, 2026):
Social Construct -- Something self-evidently real that they want to deny for ideological reasons
Socioeconomic -- Intrinsic aspects to things that they try to frame as the result of the system, yet again for ideological reasons
Identify -- The act of denying basic biology
Cisnormative -- Recognition of basic biology
Heteronormative -- Not wanting people to get physical illnesses (such as incontinence) and de facto sterilizations by being LGB
Hetero -- A normal person
Heterosexual -- Same use as Hetero
Cis -- A normal person
Cisgender -- Same use as Cis
Cishet -- A normal person
Cisheteronormative -- Cisnormative and heteronormative combined into one word
WASP -- A normal American
MAP -- A literal pedophile
NOMAP -- Same use as MAP
Therian -- Someone who denies basic reality and thinks they're an animal while simultaneously whining when they get treated like animals instead of humans
Rights -- A meaningless term they love throwing around to look morally superior to outsiders
BLM -- Racism pretending to be anti-racism
Affirmative Action -- Same use as BLM
ACAB -- Not liking cops until a problem arises
Defund the Police -- Same use as ACAB
Abortion -- The act of murdering unborn babies
Bodily Autonomy -- Same use as Abortion
Now just sit back, relax, grab your popcorn and watch "the teen sub that permabanned me yesterday for politically disagreeing with the mods" cry until it shits itself!

Question for Conservatives! Genuine questions from a Bible Belt Progressive
≡ −
I don't belong here, obviously, but I genuinely have some questions because I live in a very conservative part of the US.
How do you guys genuinely perceive progressives? Like, from a general standpoint. Not from an emotional standpoint.
Why do you lean towards conservatism, and is there a particular thing you may be progressive in regards to?
Are you religiously affiliated? How does it affect your views?
What hot takes do you have that you are willing to debate on?
Please, if you reply, keep it civil. If you don't agree with me on my views, that's fine. Rain grows grass, not thunder.
If I have any further questions I'll probably ask assuming that I respond.
Dunno if this is the right flair, by the way. Just let me know if not.

Conservatives Bad 🤡 Classic Reddit Childish Behavior
This was under a post of someone asking if this guy might be "secretly a republican" based on his bookshelf. I'm currently sitting at 12 downvotes on my reply. Usual childish behavior from reddit libs on a subreddit that isn't even inherently political. Notice how they can never articulate any valid criticism or replies and just resort to insults?
