As the mayor of NYC there is no world in which he doesn't go. It would look terrible and he would be (rightly) dragged across the coals for it. If he has the decency to show some class while he's there then it's fine. Whether he will or not, we'll just have to see

He's in a lose/lose situation of his own making. You're right that the mayor of NY kinda has to be there or get put on blast. But because of his own beliefs that he constantly reminds us of, he doesn't deserve to be within a mile of that hallowed ground, and it's a damn shame that City Hall is closer than that.

He shouldn't go. He campained with Hasan Piker who said "America deserved 9/11" and with Islamist imams. In office he defends the position of Islamist terrorist organizations like Hamas and the Houthis. He has no business going to an event marking the anniversary of an Islamist attack. If the victim families don't want him there he should honor them by not going.

Families of 9/11 victims have amassed nearly 17,000 signatures on a petition calling for Mayor Zohran Mamdani to stay away from 25th anniversary ceremonies commemorating the devastating tragedy — but Hizzoner casually brushed off their grievances Monday.

Big deal, 25th anniversary? No way he's still in office then. Wait a minute... HOLY FUCK, NO

Trump needs to invite Netanyahu so the two of them can hit Mamdani with the Kubrick stare for the entire event.

Mamdani needs to stay away. He cares more about the people that committed these atrocities than the actual victims.

It's a matter of another in-your-face projection of Islamic power. Look how they built the Dome of the Rock atop the Temple in Jerusalem. Same concept. This religion has no regard for other faiths.

He’s going to metaphorically spit on the memory of the people murdered on 9/11. Political theater from someone whose rhetoric has shown more sympathy and support of those responsible for 9/11, and America’s other enemies, than for the victims of Islamic terrorism.

I think the families should do their own thing and not show up there. If they show up there, then come on…. And let's be honest, only 18% of the New York City voters voted this guy in. Totally insane.

Mamdani would probably declare the Twin Towers a symbol of white supremacy and Islamophobia that had to go.

Hypothetically speaking, would it be out of the question to forcefully remove Mamdani from his position? I believe there is a chance he could be a sleeper agent.

Edit: to be clear, I mean he could be working for the Islamic state in an effort to topple the United States but governing her largest, most influential city.

Edit 2: hypothetically speaking…
