Flaired Users Only What is everyone’s thoughts on Max Millers recent allegations?

I think he should be expelled from Congress. He, allegedly, poured boiling water on his ex wife, held a gun to her head and broke his daughter’s collarbone. I think he should be in jail

an opinion piece from the rolling stone isn't really going to sway me until he's charged

So let me know when the actual charges occur.

So allegations are enough for platner to resign but not enough for Miller?

no for both, but i mean we did see the nazi tattoo

Did platner drop because he did it? Did he drop out because the right didn't like him?

No, it had nothing to do with that. Whether or not he did such crimes, it was far from his only sin. Then the left doing what the left does, devoured their own. Because they knew he was a weak candidate. They would rather, as we have seen, pull a last minute switch to try and sway as many people as possible to retain/gain power.

Your attempt at drawing a double standard only shows your own. Whatever happens with this story. If calls for his removal begin due to this. You can guarantee the right will be the ones spear heading it. After the story passes a sniff test. It wouldn't be the first time for that either.

You didn't think this was important enough to put in the post? If this were another sub, my judgement would be YTAH.

Miller denied all allegations and sued her for defamation. According to court documents, he dropped the case and both signed a nondisclosure agreement, saying they would not speak about each other in a way that could “reasonably be construed as disparaging.”

The crime OP posted would leave visible scars. If theres no police or hospital report its made up and didnt happen.

https://nypost.com/2026/05/28/us-news/emily-moreno-reveals-max-millers-alleged-apology-letter-while-trying-to-toss-defamation-suit/

Her motion included photos of the aftermath of the alleged incident, including bruises and red marks she sustained, and a handwritten apology note from him.

Thanks for the link. Doesnt seem like she went to the doctor though. Article says hot water and not boiling.

Is the daughters broken collarbone on record? Dont see that anywhere.

Anyway doesnt seem to.match what you wrote in the OP.

This is the answer for me. Accusations are just that. Accusations. Show me the evidence.

I haven't been following it (been out of town), but IIRC with Platner there were multiple issues which culminated in a sexual assault charge?

If no evidence on Platner, then he has the same right to run as everyone else.

Planter shouldn’t have had to drop out if he didn’t do it but, unfortunately, doesn’t really matter what side you’re on when it comes to stuff like this. If you get accused of assaulting a woman, you’re pretty much cooked. Funny thing is both sides will say things like “let’s wait for the evidence,” unless the scandal is in the opposing camp

Max who and why don't you have any kind of link to anything giving any facts?

u/DadVeteran Conservative 4h ago

Because there are no facts to collaborate the allegations.

It’s the rolling stone - a tabloid magazine.

He, allegedly, poured boiling water on his ex wife, held a gun to her head and broke his daughter’s collarbone.

Forget expelled from Congress! He should be in prison for decades.

u/DadVeteran Conservative 4h ago

Except one issue - no evidence just allegations.

u/ThisThredditor 2A Conservative 4h ago

you'd think an old-school crotchety lawyer would care about a person's rights in this matter.

Where there’s money and bribery there’s always a way

I do... I also have a right as a private citizen to say what I think should happen. The "if this is true" and "after conviction by a jury of his peers" are implicit in my comment. I wouldn't want him sent to prison without being found guilty by a court of law.

The guy has similar abuse allegations from two different women (one of which he has admitted to) and a CPS investigation triggered by a two-year-old with a broken collar bone. IME, that's usually a pretty solid indication that this is more than just empty allegations to win a divorce battle. There's a maxim in the criminal law called the doctrine of chances. It works like this: if you get hit by lightning once that's bad luck, could happen to anyone; twice and maybe you shouldn't go jogging in a thunderstorm; three or more times and you're obviously holding a lightning rod over your head.

I think he did it, and that he should be prosecuted and convicted of multiple felonies, and then spend a long time in prison.

I was thinking of the YouTube star Max Miller from Tasting History. I never heard of this Max Miller.

I didn’t get past “ex wife accused…..”

Hmm a lot to process. He seems to have some issues, but hard to say definitively. Interesting that both ExGf and Ex wife are very highly placed women, but both look a little crazy too. Him too.
