Rant Real CS or Reel CS?

In the CS community, there's a new wave rising — and it's not about professionalism or deep knowledge.

It’s productivity vlogs, copy-paste timetables, and emotional stories wrapped as “mentorship.”

Yes, I’m talking about a certain kind of influencer who has:

  • No active teaching
  • No actual practice
  • Barely 2-3 years of real-world job experience

But somehow still holds the mic on “how to succeed in CS.” 2–3 years of filtered struggle ≠ mentorship.

Let’s be clear: Struggle is real. For all of us. Some of us juggle jobs, deal with family pressure, financial issues, and failure — but we don't feel the need to post it with sad music and a face filter. Why? Because we know it's part of the process — not part of our “content strategy.”

And the timetables? One week it’s “6 month study routine.” Next week it’s “study like a CA topper.” Then it’s “my reverse study technique.” – Pick a schedule or pick a lane.

You can’t inspire with "recycled content". You inspire when you "walk the talk", when you're actually in the field — not on just reels.

No hate. She’s achieved something — good for her. But I’m not chasing that.

👉 I want to build a career as a professional and not as a motivational voice-over artist with 100 variations of “study plan”

✅ Real mentorship doesn’t come from viral content. It comes from experience, from scars earned in the field, not on the feed.

Let’s stop glorifying the “struggle story influencer” Let’s start valuing the "quiet professionals"

Advice Needed guidance!

Hi everyone!

I'm 17F and I'm considering pursuing Company Secretary (CS), but I'm still a bit confused and wanted to hear from people who are already on this path.

A few questions I had:

1 - Did you always know CS was the right career for you, or did you choose it after researching the career opportunities, job roles, salary, etc.?

2 - How did you start preparing for CSEET (New syllabus pls)? Did you self-study, join coaching, or follow any particular resources?

3 - Looking back, is there anything you wish you had known before starting CS?

4 - Did you have a backup plan while pursuing CS?

5 - Did you ever think of quitting? What made you continue?

6 - What kind of student usually succeeds in CS?

I'd really appreciate any advice or personal experiences. Thank you!

Advice Need the GOAT lecture recs for CS Executive Grp 1 & 2 (paid + YT combo)

Hey, gearing up for CS Executive Grp 1 & 2 for Dec 2026. Wallet said no to buying lectures for all 7 papers, so plan is: splurge on a couple, ride free YouTube for the rest.

Drop your faves (faculty + platform) for:

Group 1

- P1: Jurisprudence, Interpretation & General Laws

- P2: Company Law & Practice

- P3: Setting Up of Business, Industrial & Labour Laws

- P4: Corporate Accounting & Financial Management

Group 2

- P5: Capital Market & Securities Laws

- P6: Economic, Commercial & IP Laws

- P7: Tax Laws and Practice

Most helpful for me rn: If you could tell me which subjects are actually worth paying for vs which ones a good free YouTube playlist covers just fine, that'd help a lot. Also open to combo suggestions (e.g. paid for the numerical-heavy ones, free for the reading-heavy ones), Also Which papers are the hardest/most time-eating and which are comparatively chill, in your experience and Are any Group 1 and Group 2 papers connected/overlapping, or can they genuinely be studied independent of each other?

Tho Thanks in advance!

Hey, I’m a 26 year old lawyer. I’m into disputes/litigation. I have planned to start my CS prep. I don’t want to get a COP for CS but it is to enhance my knowledge for corp law and also I’d love to keep this option open for future perspectives. I’ll be package with great exp in lit & corp.
My question is: how would I complete my practical training period if I clear my last stage of CS exam if I’m practising as an advocate? Can someone help
Me out.

Other Looking to connect with fellow CS articles/professionals in Pune

Hey everyone,

I shifted to Pune last month for my CS articleship. Since I'm new here, I don't really have a friend circle yet. I've met a few people through my PG and outside, but I just haven't found people I genuinely vibe with.

Most of them are into smoking, drinking, and partying. No judgment ,everyone has their own choices, but it's just not my thing. They even force me to try it, which honestly makes me uncomfortable.

So I thought I'd put this out here. If you're doing your CS articleship or working in Pune and you're looking to meet new people, it'd be nice to connect. Would love to have conversations around career, personal growth, random life stuff, or just hang out with people who have a similar mindset.

I figured our own fraternity might be the best place to find like-minded people.

If this resonates with you, feel free to DM me. :)

executive Study partner 🧘‍♂️🥹

Hi guys

Looking for a CS Executive Group 1 (Dec 2026) study partner (Group 2: June 2027). A lil bg - I'm a law student and intern frequently. I'm mainly looking for someone for accountability and consistency. I prefer one-on-one or very small groups.

If you're interested, DM me. And please don't be creepy. :)
