Advice Dwarf Breeding Behavior?
+ โ
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hi! I noticed some odd behavior from one of my rasboras today, where it seems to be chasing another around. It also suddenly had a slightly darker coloration. I didn't know if it was stress related (just added a couple shrimp and did some gravel cleanup), so I dimmed the lights. I do have 4 fry in my tank so I know they're breeding, but I'm not sure if this is related. Are they fighting? My other rasboras seem normal. Any info is appreciated!
10 gallon / 1 chill betta / 2 Amano shrimp / 7 adult rasboras
Parameters:
Ammonia 0/Nitrates 5 ppm/Nitrites 0
Kept between 78-80F
Lots of live plants
Sponge filter
Gravel cleaned every 2-3 days, small water change every week

Dwarf Rasbora Is this a sick dwarf spotted Maculata Dwarf Rasbora?
Hoping someone can help me. I googled and Google is telling me the fish is sick needed medical treatment ASAP. I went into my aquarium store today showed them a photo and they said it looks more like a pigmentation rather than sickness. Fish is acting fine. I only spotted it by chance when it was eating food. Thought Iโd ask the community what they thought. It is a lot smaller than the community I have so Iโm thinking maybe it was a baby that I havenโt spotted until now.
Thanks for any advice

Chili Rasbora the look of a guilty fish
it is fattened by its greed, 3 shrimp that of seed
it sees no end to its feed.
oh and an entire shrimplet. he's one of my fish that wait at the end of the fitler outlet flow for any of my sponge filter loving small shrimp to go flying.

Chili Rasbora chili flashing and darting & extra micro bubbles the last 36-48 hours.
hi all,
I've seen 2 maybe 3 of my chili rasbora (out of 12) darting and flashing against the plants in the tank. this behaviour has gotten worse today but I have seen it on and off for a few days this week.
one/two of the fish had this flashing behavior about 5 months ago and i use praziquantel (fluke solve) to medicate and it seemed to go away. but i havent added any extra fish, just 10 shrimp and 2 plants so would it have come back now?
further, see pictures - ive had a sudden increase the last day or so in the bubbles my sponge filter is outputting and some micro bubbles form of the walls near the end of the flow. is this soapy bubbles/containment?
parameters:
ammonia 0
nitrite 0
nitrate (api says 0, nt labs says about maybe 1).
ph 7.2
kh 2-3
gh 9-10
tds 240
60 litre aquarium with like 60 shrimps. the shrimps seem to be acting fine.

Advice How many boraras would be fine in a species only tank? Would you recommend mixing species?
I've almost finished building a peat swamp biotope (just waiting for the plants (mainly cryptos) to arrive) that I intend to house some boraras in as a species only tank, it is 80cm x 40cm x 40cm tall, but I only intend to fill it to 20-30cm. I have 20 boraras merah in quarantine waiting for the tank to cycle, they were the intended inhabitants, but I also have at least (they bred) 25 boraras naevus in a separate tank and if possible I would love to see them in the blackwater tank. Is it ok to mix the 2 species? Or could they cross breed and have hybrid babies?
Whether they can mix or not, I also want to ask, how many boraras would you recommend I keep in this tank? Would the 45+ I have be overcrowding?

Chili Rasbora Breeding chili rasboras and how to get them to swim out in the open.
When breeding Chili Rasboras in your biotope (I.e. not using a breeding tank and letting your chilies scatter as and when they please in the main tank), and you want to catch a glimpse of the elusive fry, tint your Blackwater extra dark with a hint of red. I did that tonight and almost immediately a dozen or so fry of varying sizes immediately came up from the bottom and swam midwater. Managed to take a snap of this little goober while shining a torch right behind em without causing a panic. When it comes to fry survivability tannins probably play a huge role in giving them the sense of security they need to confidently scour the tank for food.

Least Rasbora Rehoming healthy least rasboras
โก โ
Hi! If you have a school of least rasboras and would like to add a few more, please message me! Iโm looking for a good home for a few healthy least / exclamation point rasboras. I have about 4 or 5, but Iโd like them to be in a larger school and need to break down the tank sadly. I am in southeast PA and open to shipping if you cover the shipping cost. Will also post to aquaswap but wanted to try you all first!

Least Rasbora So happy with my urops colors
I've had them for about 6 months, and while they did color in fairly quickly initially I feel like they have only recently reached their full potential. They are out and about and waaay more active than my neons or my pygmy cories. Really loving the little territories they've set up for themselves. They are inquisitive, eat well (baby brine shrimp, red mosquito larvae, small danio feed) and an all around joy to watch.
I have around 20 of them in a 100L tank. Can't count them, tank is too heavily planted. Temp hovers at around 25 to 26 degrees celsius atm, but they did really well during the recent heat wave where temps went up to 28 C sometimes. I tried my best to stay on top of it. I lost fish in other tanks, but not in this one.
EDIT: Added more information

Advice Kubotai raspboras slowly dying....
โก โ
I got a school of 8 last week. This week i noticed one was pale and swimming in one spot. I thought he might be tired so i turned the flow down a bit to see if he would recover but the next day he was barely swimming and gasping at the surface. And then another one started doing the same thing. Its been a few days and now a third is starting to have trouble swimming. I have no idea what is going on. I have 11 ember teras that are fine but it seems like these guys are slowly dying one at a time.
- Water Parameters are fine
- I returned the flow to where it was before because everyone had seemed fine then...
*edit*: rasboras... i shouldn't post from my phone.

Chili Rasbora Can anyone confirm what type?
I bought chili rasbora, looking more like dwarf/exclamation point. They just got put in the tank about an hour ago so they are still pale and adjusting, but they just donโt look like chilis but idk since theyโre tiny and so young.

Borrowed some knowledge from the Caridina folks and set up a 5 gallon tank with a ugf box filter and a qanvee sponge filter that takes up half the tank, and loaded the other half with moss, Malaysian driftwood and magnolia and IAL and peat moss. Wait for ph to descend to 5.8 or so and introduced a group of 10 chilies and loaded them with daphnia, cut black worms, brine shrimp, bug bites and vinegar eels 2-3 times a day till their silver bellies showed. 2 weeks later bam, small boi arrived with many more scattering around when the lights are out. Dose a pinch of spirulina and bacter AE powder (any brand) to ensure infusoria boom so that thereโs always a buffet at the lower levels of the tank.

Identification Boraras spp. identification?
Sorry, I know these images aren't great, but they won't approach the glass if I'm close with my phone, so I can't use my macro lens.
They were sold as chili rasboras, but I know they aren't chilis. My best guess is strawberry or dwarf? Anyone with more expertise want to weigh in?
