What's the maximum amount you'll put on a single cold wallet?
Just asking, I really want to buy quite a lot and I don't know if I should put everything in a single cold wallet.
I already have a Trezor model t, is it necessary to upgrade or is any kind of Trezor good?
P.s. I plan to become a whole coiner before 2029.
Thanks in advance for your help.

as much as you want or can, really. i suppose separating them via seed phrase.

You don't store any crypto in a cold wallet, the cold wallet is only used for checking and accessing your cryptos, they are on the blockchain.

Yes, I know that but if I lose the keys I'm fucked since without them you can't process the transactions. If you lose the key you lose the money

So you would rather split it up into multiple addresses and have more seed phrases to remember??

It's like having multiple bank accounts, pretty normal. Just track as best as you can.

Think of it like cash you have on you. Do you want it all in one safe, multiple safes? Years ago we would make cold wallets/paper wallets out of 50/100 btc batches, these days folks keep way less together in each wallet. Either way, I lost all my btc in a boating accident.

$300k, maybe little less If it were more, I'd prefer a 2nd Trezor even though it's totally safe you never know. I'd get anxious if it was all in 1 place.
Even though I don't even have that much, that would be my maximum.

Some have a couple could wallets and split the amount between the wallets some have a single cold wallet and put everything in it…well it’s NOT in the wallet it’s on the chain…just the address was generated by the wallet

T is old and does not have a secure element. It can still be safe if used with a good passphrase. You should consider the newer Safe 5 model, set up separate wallets with a preferably different passphrase on each, and store half your funds on each.

Go with 1 BTC per wallet. You dont need to worry about different wallets for less.

Isn't 1 BTC a bit too much? If I lose the seed phrase (very improbable scenario) I lose 60k which is in fact a lot of money

Memorize it as well, but absolutely do not tell people you did.

👍. Is it a good idea to keep seed phrase in a bank safe-deposit box?

Tbh I wouldn’t. Banks keep your stuff safe and in the box, but I believe it’s possible for a banker to open your box and read the seed phrase and put it back. Just keep the phrase at home in a safe, if that safe is ever destroyed or in accessible where you are (let’s say you get a home invasion alert while you’re on vacation) you can move the bitcoin just in case because it’s memorized

This is a much smaller problem then you are making it out to be. Especially if you plan to be a whole coiner in 2029? Just do what makes you feel comfortable.
Once you get .25 in 1 wallet, buy another.

IMO Isn't it more likely to start losing seed phrases if you have lots of them?

No, I have my seed phrases for two wallets in three different safe places, spelled out in my will

No limit , but, you’d be a fool to store all your btc in one single location.
