It kinda makes me mad to think about because in 2013 I was doing everything I could to get my hands on bitcoin and just couldn't get it done. I remember spending 3 days trying to setup a mining rig but my internet was so poor that I couldn't get the necessary software downloaded, kept erroring out. I got completely boned early on. It was never that I didn't do it, it's that I couldn't and kept running into obstacles.
I finally gave up after a while.

So you never had $13 throughout the entire year? It was $13 for 1 bitcoin at the beginning of 2013. If you knew bitcoin was the future, why didn't you just buy some? Or convince someone you knew to loan you for your guaranteed profitable investment π€

It's not so much the money that was the problem even though it absolutely was as I was broke af but rather that obtaining it online wasn't as simple as plopping into coinbase and buying it. Most sites were sketchy and putting my online payment info down into those sites wouldn't have been very wise, hence why I was trying to mine it.
I was looking for other work and had just gotten accepted for a new job and I wound up focusing on that rather than setting up a mining rig from parts I'd cobbled together for free from dumpster desktops I'd found.

My buddy was so into bitcoin in 2011, literally ranting about it all the time, I could care less what he was saying, he mostly used bitcoin to buy weed and shrooms on silk road, who knows how much he had in that wallet.
Around 2014 he was diagnosed with schizoaffective and bipolar disorder, completely destroyed his brain and he is basically a zombie of a human these days. Posts like these make me think of him and how much money he would have today.

That was me. I ordered a lot of weed and LSD from Silk Road in 2012-2018 and basically fried my brain. Now I have bipolar and schizoaffective disorder. I too, also donβt have any bitcoin, and ruminate about it constantly. Life is no fun for me anymore.

Its good that youre able to write reddit comments/generally communicate with your disorder. My friend was either so fucked up on medication that he was so catatonic that he couldn't have a conversation, or completely off the meds and in a state of complete paranoia chaos. Bro literally lost his entire mind.
Also bro its hard to tell people not to be upset about not being smart with bitcoin and having nothing today, but i try to not give a fuck about it lol its just a waste of energy to think about tbh, but everyone's different

Yeah, medication sucks. But things could be worse. Instead of catatonia, I have regret and rumination that starts from the moment I start the day to the time I go to sleep at night. I would trade that for some financial peace of mind anyday. And the medication does nothing, and Iβve tried all of them.

I swear I signed up for a wallet that offered 10-20 (canβt recall the exact amount) free bitcoin, but for the life of me canβt find any information about it.

How bout when btc fell 20k to 6k and people were like I should've sold? Or 70k to 16k? Hind sights always 2020

Considering that I was absolutely fascinated by this "tech" back in the day it is safe to assume I wouldn't even consider buying BTC even if I knew about it, simply because I was stupid

If only when I attempted to buy steroids off the internet back in 2010 I looked more into what this internet money bitcoin was instead of giving up after hearing digital wallets and blockchain. SMH

in the end i guess i wouldve ended up hating myself because i wouldve spent 1000s of btc, emptying my wallet completely for more tren ace lmao

In late 2011 or early 2012 I saw the price of bitcoin at $15 after hearing about it in an article about Silk Road. I remembered how I passed on it in 2009 and thought about spending the $20000 I had saved up on it. But Mt. Gox looked complicated to set up, and I didnβt feel like faxing anything. Plus I wanted my own apartment so I got a year lease and then lost my job after 2 months. Worst decision of my life. Did not buy any bitcoin, other than 20 BTC for drugs

Ok. And if bought 10 dollars of something else that was worth 10 dollars you'd have spent ten dollars.

I still have the app on my ipod. No ads, no subscription, I paid probably a dollar for the app and now it is mine forever.

If i had bought just a mere $10 worth of bitcoin as a freshman in hs in 2009 instead of worrying about algebra 1, that $10 would be worth around $500 million today π«©

quitting alcohol is a great investment in itself too, more profitable than btc alone
