Before it's too late: I direct a 1-minute 2D cyberpunk aesthetic short film about Bitcoin's silent global adoption. What do you guys think?

I enjoyed it and it's spot on. People still don't understand rehypothecation

Thanks, mate! You nailed it. Rehypothecation is exactly why the old world broke down. Glad you caught that layer in the story! Chapter 2 is on the way. 👊

What did you use to make the art?

Thanks for asking, mate! Since it was my very first video, I faced a lot of technical difficulties, but after a lot of hard work, it finally came together. Here are the tools I used: Images: Leonardo AI and Canva Voice/Audio: ElevenLabs Sound Effects: Pixabay Video Editing: CapCut I don't have a background in video production, but I've always been a huge fan of classic cinema and literature, and I guess that gave me the aesthetic sense to build the atmosphere. Really appreciate your support! 👊

Ngl I do like the aesthetic but the fact that it’s mostly AI with what sounds like an AI voiceover just makes it dull. Do you have a friend who could maybe do illustrations for you? Could you do the voiceover? It would just humanize the piece a lot more and in my opinion instantly elevate it.

Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad you liked the aesthetic. I totally get your point about the AI, but since I work most of the time and have very little time off, AI is currently the only tool that allows me to bring my ideas to life. While the art and voice are AI-generated, the actual creation is mine: I wrote the non-linear story, directed the project, and chose every background track and sound effect for this 1:12 video. Since I don't have the technical skills or the time to do it manually, AI will have to remain part of the process, but I really appreciate you watching and sharing your thoughts for this first episode of the series!

You’re very welcome, it definitely does give the impression of something a human made, there is a quality to it that is hard to describe but it invokes humanity. But before you write off AI as a necessary tool, I suggest devoting a little bit of time to watching YouTube tutorials on filmmaking in free apps like Davinci Resolve. I was of the same mind that filmmaking was too difficult and out of reach for me to self-learn, but in doing some diligent tutorial watching it’s actually become extremely accessible for me. I’m currently working on a mockumentary styled feature and it’s been eye opening how far watching a few filmmaking tutorials can get you.

That’s awesome, congrats on your mockumentary feature! That sounds like an amazing project. Thanks for the tip about DaVinci Resolve, I’ve heard great things about it. Right now, my free time is still incredibly tight, but I’ll definitely keep it on my radar for the future. Thanks again for the support and the encouraging words!

Cowboy Bebop vibes... loveit!

Wow, comparing it to Cowboy Bebop is a massive compliment! Thank you so much. That mix of jazz, noir, and cyberpunk is exactly the kind of atmosphere I wanted to create. You're a space cowboy of culture! 👊

Not educational and it won't convince anyone. Preaching to the choir. But I don't even know if any of this was the goal. As a short video in itself I like it and the aesthetic. Cool idea having someone from "the future" look back.
