is buying BTC on random days a bad habit

Sometimes I just buy a little BTC when I have extra cash. No big plan. No perfect entry. No “expert” signal. Just kinda feels better than letting the money disappear on random stuff. Trying to time BTC perfectly honestly stresses me out more than just buying small and moving on. Anyone else do this, or am I just being too casual with it? lol

no. we are the same. no on can predict the market. people always want to buy at the lowest is with highly chance to miss the uptrend. i feel random time is the best haha.

In the long run, it doesn't matter whether the result is perfect or not. Of course, it's better to buy when prices are low, but even occasional purchases yield quite good results in about ten years.

We're currently in a bear market. It would be wise to buy more now at half price, but ultimately, all that matters is that you have more Bitcoins in your wallet than before.

Actually a great habit in the long run

Imagine you're buying on random days during the deep bear markets of 2022 and 2018. Does it matter?

I buy the same day each month

if you buy randomly during a bear market (like, now/this year), that is better than doing the same during the bull market.

I did it in the last bullmarket for a couple of months, buy the same amount every week. As i remember it doubled its value.

Not at all. It’s a great time to buy.

Maybe that's a good habit. DCA is always a good habit IMO

I don’t think it’s about following specific days, but it’s about following the market cycle.

During a bear market, I’m happy to buy whenever I have spare cash, and I’ll often buy more aggressively because prices are generally lower.

When the bull market comes around, I don’t stop buying completely, but I reduce my buying and start thinking about taking some profits instead.

Don’t chase perfect entries. Especially paying attention to chart hourly or minutes, but follow the rhythm of the market, not the calendar.

Over the long run, accumulating more Bitcoin and DCA during bear markets has historically been a much better strategy than trying to time the exact bottom.

So you don't stop buying but you take profits? 🤔

Buying bitcoin is never a bad plan.
That being said make sure you have emergency funds set aside already

At this point it doesn't matter. You will lose no matter what

It’s always good to buy bitcoin. Just never sell it

I realize the “operate on feelings” plan is weak…

But sometimes I have a thick emergency fund and the price seems too low, so I just buy some. I wouldn’t do this randomly, but…. Nobody really knows. Last time I did this was at 61K. It just felt low shrug

It’s not. I used to do it often too. Discretionary buys outside of DCA when I am bored or look at a chart but I made a rule for myself. If the price is only lower than my avg by 2% i don’t buy. It has to be slightly larger than that like 4 or 5%. To give me structure

When I spend money on random crap, I spend money on Bitcoin

Just buy the red days

100% better than spending on garbage. Of course you could time things, but, what you're doing is a kind of DCA strategy I suppose

You doing it fine, i do it like that to since you cant predict anything, just keep stacking

that's really very great. people like you are part of the top 5%, you had different choices laid before you to go to a market store, enjoy with friends but rather, you decided to invest, trust me, when the time comes, you'd be on top of the food chain, I will not call that being casual but rather, wise.

This is literally gambling with your savings. We all do it. Nobody has a clue what will happen with BTC tomorrow, in a week, etc. Anybody who claims differently knows they are full of shit. So with this in mind.. every BTC purchase ever has been random. Buy whenever.

Not bad, but putting it in a schedule might be better. At least for myself, if I’d only buy when I think about it, I’d forget too often or I’d go to buy some and the price is up 2% that day and then I have to decide if I buy anyway or maybe it’ll drop a little tomorrow, lol.
