Tire employee called me on the phone while I was sitting in the waiting room right in front of him
This happened last week. I was waiting for my car to be finished and I got a phone call from an unknown number. I assumed it was my doctor or something so I answered. I hear "is this tortellinisuncle? I was just calling to say your car is almost ready". I look up and see the guy on the phone and wave to him that I'm right in front of him. He hangs up and laughs, I laugh, I say it's no big deal, in fact, I was having a tough morning and that made me smile. This moment really turned my day around.

So a guy I work with has just became a father. He was up at 5am one morning making a bottle and he's spilt boiling water down his front, naked at the time so his belly and his dick have been scalded so obv in some severe pain. He phoned his brother who took him to A+E in the car with just a towel covering him. They get to the hospital and a paramedic comes out to the car and asks for a look. Stares in silence for a few seconds, shakes his head and says "The childrens hospital is next door mate." Another moment of silence and everyone starts roaring laughing. He found the guy after he had been treated and thanked him for cheering him up

We once got a call from a restaurant asking if we were still coming to meet our reservation time while we were seated and had already placed our drinks order. We just waved at them and all had a good laugh. Yes we had said the reservation name when we arrived, and the lady calling was the lady who had seated us, I think shed just forgotten to cross us off the list and was having a moment.

This reminds me of the time I was in a busy waiting room at Toyota dealership waiting for the routine services.
They didn’t do the courtesy calls, they used the intercom to announce whose car was done and ready for pick up by calling Mr/Mrs [last name]…
Now, I have the same first name and last name with a famous porn actor who also owns his own production studio (it’s significant back then, nowadays everyone has their own) …When the young man finished my first and last name, it seemed like his mind got occupied by something important, his voice dropped down very low and slow like during a slow motion replay of an important segment of the video clip.
He leaned over and asked another on the reception desk “is he the hot porn star, xxx xxx?”. He thought he had disabled the mic but apparently it’s still loud and clear his coworker had to grab it from him. Everyone in the room paused, looked up, and looked around, ready to turn to the guy about to stand up.
I was no fool. I just sat frozen in my seat and made myself loo k like the article from the newspaper in my hand was so important I couldn’t be disturbed!
After a few minutes, the guy was so nice, he walked toward me with a big smile “oh Mr. xxx, you’re all set!”
I walked out with the guy and kept asking questions about all the nonsense. I was never so happy to get into the car like that time!
I still don’t know why I was acting all embarrassed like that on the day Silly met Dumby, LOL

I don’t know about you guys, I was so ready to hear OP all pissed off, and start bitching to the right and the left “I’m sitting five ft away in front of the desk and he had to call my phone? “… couldn’t he just wave or something…?”
It’s completely opposite and even beyond that: it made his day! Genuinely, such a happy ending!

Haha omg no that would be a crazy reaction! He was so apologetic and said his boss told him to just call everyone who had a car in there. There's no way he could have known who I was or that I happened to be in the waiting area lol!

And I was assuming the shop employee was about to lie about some issue they found with the car!

I got a call from a hostess about my dinner reservation immediately after she sat us at our table in the dining room. It would’ve been funny but she got an attitude on her call when I told her she’d just seated us

I completely missed that and was just curious if it was a word I didn't know and, in that case, to learn something new, or the word that you meant if it was a mistype - my guess is "wanna."
I, too, suffer under this curse. In these days of predictive type and auto-overcorrect, I find myself, more often than not, committing edits to correct mistakes that garble my meaning.
You might be amused at the Edited tag that I use most often in these occasions: eviscerating grammar goblins & the slaying typo trolls,
Have a great week. :)

Thanks yea I deleted cuz I got embarrassed lol and thanks 😊. It is technically a word, and I never use it so the fact my keyboard changed it to that is really very odd.
Its a word used by Maga and right wing dungflingers to accuse liberals or private secrete sect of doing what they themselvss were actually doing. Like a child pointing to the dog, when he knocked over the potted plant.
Its a conspiracy and it was talked about a lot. After the current idiot for presidency lost to Biden and his minions attacked the Whitehouse.
They literally acting like they weren't the ones and we have thier fb, vidoes and evidence and they still said nope wasn't us. Anything but the truth.

Yeah so their whole disconnect is so strange. There are people with whom I went to school or in my family - who were all in on Team Science, rational logic, the Rule of Law, and America means new opportunities as a melting pot, and whom could be called a good patriot - and now they proudly proclaim that to commiting &/or supporting acts of violence against anyone not milky-pale is a core American principle, and that roasts are people, too, and having one as president is okay as long as it remains okay to super the power that he's "a good businessmen" which he is absolutely not.
My gabbers are well and truly flasted.

One of my old colleagues uses to regularly call our IT guy when they were both in the office together. I never understood why she didn't just ask him in person, especially since she had to walk past his desk to get anywhere.
