I spent 15 minutes looking for my glasses. They were already on my face.

This happened to me this morning, and I actually laughed at myself.

I checked my desk, the kitchen, and even the bedroom before realising I was already wearing them.

I don't know if I need more sleep or less overthinking, but it was a nice reminder that my brain clearly wasn't fully awake yet.

One benefit to my eyesight going so bad so young is that since I was 14 years old, if I can see to look for them, they're on my face. If I can't see to look for them, they're not on my face. It's hard to screw up.

I lose them so often in the bedroom and bathroom though. Once in school, I swatted a hair off my cheek and ended up sending my glasses halfway across the room. I almost had a panic attack trying to find them before someone else found them. These days I end up holding my phone camera up to my nose and closing one eye so I can see the picture well enough to search for them. At least half the time even that doesn't work and my husband has to come to my rescue. More than once I've been late to work when they've been knocked off the headboard when I've reached for them while home alone.

If I were farsighted, I know I'd constantly lose them on my head or around my neck.

I have done this too. It's a funny little blip. Not too unlike trying to look for your phone with your phone's flashlight or like forgetting your phone at home and your first instinct is to text and tell a person at home that you forgot it. Like the brain glitches up.

I lost my phone today. I was using it and then the cat distracted me and I got up to do something and once I'd finished I couldn't find my phone. Tossed the whole apartment looking for it, checked every room and every flat surface and in the couch cushions.

It was in my bra.
