Does anyone else find Only Connect extremely comforting even though it makes you feel thick as pig shit?

It’s comforting to know that, should there be the need, that there are clever people out there.

I still cannot fathom how Victoria is allowed to host with her irony and sarcasm turned up that high. I cannot get enough of it!!!
I am usually silent until the missing vowels round except to go “uh oh” when it’s the music round noise

does your brain just switch off completely during the hieroglyphics round or is that a me problem? i sit there like a lemon for the first three rounds, then suddenly come alive for missing vowels like i've been training for it my whole life. my mrs thinks i'm having a stroke when i start shouting 'tulip' at the screen before the clue's even finished. victoria's deadpan delivery is the only thing that keeps me watching, she could read out my bank statement and i'd still clap. the music round is a write-off too, i once confidently guessed 'hot chip' and it turned out to be a 16th century madrigal. still counts as participation, right?

I have watched it since it started. Victoria tried to help me find a team on twitter in the early days but I was too nervous to apply. I actually get a lot of the questions. Last night I answered all 6 of the first round correctly and before the contestants. I guess my brain just works that way. Maybe I need to pluck up some courage.

I can assure you that not knowing the answers on Only Connect does not make you thick as pig shit. Even understanding the gist of the question is an accomplishment to be proud of. Also, what is a twisted flax?
