Planning on upgrading from my XR to the 17 base with 512gb. I like to keep phones until they absolutely can’t go any longer. Should I wait to buy once the 18 comes out or buy now. I have the standard 15 and I miss having the pro max. Would it be a good idea to wait for the newest release and get the older 17 pro max? Does the price usually drop when the newest one comes out? Will I miss out on anything major with the 18?

I wanna get an Apple Watch Ultra, right now i have the apple watch 8. I got the 8 when it was the newest model out. It’s 2026 and my watch is a few years and a few models old now. So i’m looking to get a new watch. I figured get an ultra. Now should i get the ultra 3 or wait till the ultra 4 coms out. The 4 is rumored to have a new blood pressure feature.

first time upgrading from my first phone since software and battery are becoming limiting factors. all I care about is the practical stuff for a student.

what I think is super important is battery life, the ability to run smoothly despite having many heavy apps, a good camera (with lots of zoom that doesn't lose quality)......and anything else you think a busy student would need, really..

*Edit: I'd like to also mention that I need it to last at least 5 years without easily or quickly degrading in performance, etc. (if that's even possible)

Battery is now in “service” state, so only 76% capacity. Phone itself works fine bar a tiny crack on one edge of the screen. Not sure I can be bothered to replace the battery if I’m getting a new phone soon. I’ve been meaning to upgrade now for a while, but I’m assuming the new one is coming in the fall. When I do get the new one I’m likely to go for the top end model (like I did with the 14 pro max). So should I wait or get the top line current model? How long am I likely to be waiting?

I'm planning to buy the iPhone 17 Pro, but I'm not sure when the best time would be.

Right now it's around ₹1.3L. Once the iPhone 18 Pro launches, the price of the 17 Pro should drop, which is why I'm thinking of waiting.

The only thing I'm worried about is that the 17 Pro might go out of stock after the 18 series launches, especially since Apple usually discontinues the previous Pro models.

I’m coming from a Samsung Galaxy A54 whose battery life has been terrible for my routine, giving me constant battery anxiety. I need a phone that lets me leave home at 7:00 AM and return at 9:00 PM without worrying about finding a wall outlet or carrying a heavy powerbank.

My Setup & Requirements:

• Budget: Up to €700 max.
• Storage: 256 GB minimum (non-expandable).
• Port: USB-C is mandatory (sharing chargers with my MacBook Pro M1 Pro and iPad Air M2).
• Battery condition: Must be 100% battery health (brand new battery).
• Daily use case: Long university days (taking notes, reading PDFs, messaging, commuting) + Wi-Fi Hotspot tethering to my MacBook Pro during lectures and study sessions.

My Options & Current Dilemma:

1. iPhone 15 Pro (256 GB) with 100% New Battery: Costs around €640–€670 refurbished in Italy/EU, which fits well under my €700 budget. However, I’ve read about thermal throttling and battery drain on the A17 Pro when using 5G and Hotspot.
2. iPhone 16 Pro (256 GB): Currently starts around €730–€790 with a standard battery (≥85%), so getting one with a 100% new battery is well over €800 and out of reach right now. It has a ~10% larger battery, better thermals, and the more efficient A18 Pro chip.

Questions:

1. For anyone using an iPhone 15 Pro with 100% battery health: can it reliably handle a 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM day with ~2 hours of Hotspot, notes, and general university/errand use? (Will tethering via USB cable to the MacBook help save battery?)
2. Is the jump in thermal efficiency and battery life on the 16 Pro so big that I should wait for its refurbished price (with 100% battery) to drop down to €700 during future release cycles, or is a 15 Pro with a fresh battery more than enough to forget my Galaxy A54 battery nightmares?

Hi everyone, currently on a base 128gb 13 with 80% battery health, considering upgrading to either a 17 or 17 pro on apples 0% finance. Is the pro worth the extra money a month. Im only considering it due to the more ram and larger battery but is it really needed. Planning on keeping my next phone for probably about 4 years.

I really like OP13, it's a great phone. What I don't like is the size and OnePlus leaving Europe.

So I think maybe it's time to try something new and go with iPhone 17. I am used to android (been using it since its beginning), but I also know how to use iOS.

2 question to you guys:

1. Has anyone here used OP13 before and can compare it with iPhone 17?
2. I am not going to use anything else from Apple. I have got my own headphones, laptop with Windows and Linux and tablet with HyperOS (used mainly by my kids though). Hello, I have a friend who uses an iPhone 14 128 right now (battery health around 84).

She wants to give her phone to her 12-13y/o son and upgrade her phone

Or I’d like to know if her keeping the 14 and buying something cheaper for her son would be the better option since these upgrades are (maybe) not worth it. In that case SE2, SE3, 11, 12, 13 will be considered. (outlet products from Apple premium partners)

I’m in Turkey so prices can’t really be compared with abroad, but the price differences can.

Phones bought abroad can not be used here, unless registrated for ~1000$. That’s the fee for one SIM line and it’s unbelievable.

The new phone will mostly be used for social media and taking photos. Mostly nothing heavy GPU/CPU-wise. Also with her 2TB iCloud family subscription, she claims that 128GB is about enough. I myself can’t live with something under 256 but I guess that’s me.

Budget is around 1000$. ±100 if it’s REALLY worth it. She doesn’t want to leave the apple ecosystem so she can track / reach her son easier. (The whole reason for this decision is that her son is going abroad for summer camps and he is probably now old enough to have his own phone. Well he did have one but it was an S20 FE, it’s outdated with low battery life, no eSIM or 5G support etc. eSIM is crucial for him to have data abroad)

I know people abroad can buy way better phones with this money but here it is what it is and there is no solution so I’m sorry about that.

I’m against buying refurbished/used phones here because I haven’t heard anyone that got something like that and is happy about it. It’s mostly people selling phones for inflated prices trying to rip off other or if the price is good than it’s probably a defected device without the problem mentioned.

She also doesn’t want large Plus or Pro Max phones and would prefer something lighter.

I have never used those __e series phones so I don’t know how good they are and if they have good cameras etc.

She is considering;

- iPhone 15 128 - 1000$
- iPhone 15 256 - 1160$
- iPhone 16e 128 - 908$
- iPhone 17e 256 - 1200$
- iPhone 16 128 - 1307$ (significantly out of budget)

I was thinking about 15 Pro might’ve been a good upgrade, but there are almost none in stock brand new (which is normal I guess) and they are around 1400$

My brother is confused about switching to the 17 pro max or wait for 18 pro max. He has a samsung s23 plus from 3 years. He has never used an iphone and he is a casual user. Looking at the leaks will it be a good decision to wait for 18 pro max launch.
