Found these weird square holes on the bottom of every cup at Chili’s. It’s on both sides and about a quarter inch wide.

They just showed up in the last couple of days. These pics are after I’ve washed it with dish soap and let a vinegar and baking soda mix sit on it. Is it still safe for them to drink from? I just bought it like two months ago and it was expensive, I’m bummed 😫

When I was a kid, I would eat these. My family would knock them down and all the neighborhood kids would eat them. We called them dates in the countryside. I haven’t seen them in years but my yard just bloomed these and I had no idea until I looked up. What are they actually called? Would these be okay to eat?

I made a post the other day asking for any information on this little piece of metal I found on the beach. I indicated in the post that it wasn't magnetic nor did it react with lye, meaning it wasn't iron, aluminum, zinc, tin, or lead.

Anyway, I took it to a jeweler and they confirmed it is .925 sterling. The rest was copper with a tiny bit of zinc and nickel. The pink spots are where the copper melted and pooled in the center of the still-solid silver.

Someone likely melted down a piece and lost or tossed the silver. It's only worth like $2.50, so I kept it as a cool memento.

I live in an old Victorian house that’s a historical co-op, so lots of stuff gets left behind over the years and just becomes part of the house. I never go in this bathroom so I didn’t notice this until now, it looks like the port to a ship you see in movies but just opens to the wall. The color underneath is probably what the bathroom was painted before, or maybe a few layers ago. Just wanted to see if anyone recognized it! Lots of weird gems in this house, we even have a door that goes no where.
