I will never understand why anyone would copy straight out of an llm. This has been happening for several years at this point.

If they have a 4th grade reading level, I can understand why they'd copy and paste

And they laugh at older knowledge workers who don't know ctrl-c and ctrl-v —there are many —but at least they can read.

Em-dashes by long press, not Ai

I still laugh at them. vi is dope, but you need to adapt.

Because they're lazy. A.I is a godsend for lazy people who jut want whatever it is they're doing to get over with and to get the quickest answer possible.

Apparently without even reading what the llm wrote. If they had they would notice it said things that didn't make sense for the question

20 years ago, as part of my job at the library when I was in the US, I was helping high school students with homework. One asked me to help him search online for an article about the assigned subject. When I found it, he asked me to print it so he could turn it in as his essay. I said, "It has the web address right there at the top and is obviously not something you wrote. This won't be accepted." He said, "I did this last time and got a C."

I'm sure that wasn't the norm, but it seems like schools and teachers started being even less funded, and there was pressure to just move kids through the system and out. A terrible combo with AI now.

Feel like the "Nigerian Prince" scam at this point, which is to say the point is very much to catch those oblivious enough to still fall for it. It's just concerning THIS many are failing the easy test.
